Abstract

This study aims to examine the process of applying the habituation method in memorizing short surahs for early childhood at RA Mamba'ul Hidayah Pati and how the method contributes to the development of children's religion and morals. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The primary data sources in this study were obtained through interviews with those observed, which aimed to observe directly at the research location. The research conducted at RA Mamba'ul Hidayah Pati revealed that this method is effective in facilitating children's memorization through fun repetition, accompanied by explanations of the meaning of the surah that are in accordance with the child's understanding. In this habituation, it shows that the ability to memorize short surahs by applying the memorization habituation method will make it easier for children because children memorize by repeating the readings that have been memorized by reading short surahs that will be memorized repeatedly will make it easier for the child to remember what has been read by the child. And the role of parents at home is very important because it provides motivation and encouragement to children so that children are diligent in memorizing short surahs at home.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Development of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) Based on the Lilian Katz Model in Improving School Readiness for Children Aged 5-6 Years. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design , involving 30 children as the experimental group and 15 children as the control group. The experimental group received project-based learning with the Lilian Katz model, while the control group used conventional methods. The research instrument was a child development assessment questionnaire covering aspects of cognition and general knowledge, language, social-emotional, physical motor skills, and learning approaches. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain Score test to measure the increase in school readiness. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a more significant increase than the control group, the experimental group with an average N-Gain of 0.76 (high category) while the control group was 0.63 (moderate category). These findings indicate that project-based learning with the Lilian Katz model involving exploration, collaboration, and reflection is more effective in preparing children holistically to enter elementary education. In conclusion, the Lilian Katz Model in P5 can be an innovative and effective learning strategy to improve early childhood school readiness. This study recommends the implementation of a project-based approach in the PAUD curriculum to support optimal child development.

Abstract

Gross motor development is an important aspect in early childhood growth because it plays a role in training balance, coordination, agility, and muscle strength that supports daily activities, so that targeted stimulation through fun play activities is needed. One relevant game is hopscotch, which requires children to jump, maintain balance, and coordinate body movements so that it can stimulate gross motor skills optimally. This study uses the Classroom Action Research (CAR) design model of Kemmis and McTaggart with the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection, and combines qualitative analysis through reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions, and quantitative analysis by calculating the percentage of children's development in the categories of Not Yet Developing (BB), Starting to Develop (MB), Developing According to Expectations (BSH), and Developing Very Well (BSB). The results of the study showed a significant increase in children's gross motor skills from pre-cycle to cycle II in the aspects of balance, coordination, agility, and muscle strength, so it can be concluded that hopscotch games are effective as an active, fun, and contextual learning strategy in supporting the optimal development of early childhood gross motor skills.

Abstract

Early childhood education contributes significantly to building the foundation of children's development, including language, which is the foundation of communication, early literacy, and social-emotional skills. However, observations show that most children aged 5–6 years still experience difficulties in oral language, such as difficulty telling stories, difficulty answering questions, and limited vocabulary. The purpose of this study was to improve children's oral language skills through the application of interactive storytelling methods. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) design model of Kemmis & Mc Taggart, which was implemented in two cycles on 10 children in Group B of Kindergarten. Data collection was carried out through observation, performance assessment, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively with triangulation of techniques and sources. The results showed an increase in oral language skills in three main aspects, namely fluency, accuracy, and vocabulary. In the first cycle, the majority of children were in the "Beginning to Develop" and "Developing as Expected" categories, while in the second cycle there was a significant increase with most children reaching the "Developing Very Well" category. The application of interactive storytelling with a variety of media, teacher reflection, and active child involvement has proven successful in creating more interactive and meaningful learning. This study concludes that storytelling is an effective strategy for stimulating early childhood oral language skills while strengthening self-confidence, creativity, and social interaction. The practical contribution of this research is that it provides a reflective storytelling model that early childhood education teachers can adapt in their daily learning.

Abstract

Early childhood is known as a golden period of child development that requires appropriate stimulation so that all aspects of development, especially fine motor skills, can develop optimally. In reality, the development of fine motor skills in children is not optimal due to teachers' limitations in the use of media and innovative learning methods. The purpose of this study was to develop children's fine motor skills through stringing activities that utilize natural materials, namely banana leaves. This study applied the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with two cycles, which included the planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. As research subjects, 20 children from group A were selected, consisting of 8 boys and 12 girls. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively through the stages of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed a significant increase in children's fine motor skills, especially in aspects of speed, flexibility, and finger strength. Stringing activities with banana leaves were proven to be able to provide a fun and meaningful learning experience, as well as train children's focus and perseverance. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of natural materials in creative activities is effective as a learning strategy in early childhood education. The contribution of this research lies in strengthening empirical evidence regarding the effectiveness of nature-based media as an innovative alternative that is environmentally friendly while also supporting the development of fine motor skills in early childhood.

Abstract

Cases of child sexual abuse (CSA) in Indonesia continue to rise annually, representing a serious social and public health concern. Parents play a crucial role in preventing CSA, as they can directly teach children about bodily autonomy and safety. However, many parents lack awareness, hold misconceptions, and feel uncomfortable discussing sexual matters with their children. Despite their importance, interventions targeting parents remain limited, with most programs focusing primarily on children. This study aims to identify factors influencing parental awareness of CSA prevention and to examine parent-focused interventions through a systematic literature review (SLR). Data were collected from Google Scholar, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Sage, and ScienceDirect using Publish or Perish (PoP) software, applying inclusion criteria and the PRISMA framework. Thirteen relevant articles published within the past ten years were analyzed. Findings indicate that economic status, education level, limited knowledge, and negative attitudes significantly affect parents’ ability to educate their children about CSA prevention. In Indonesia, parent-focused interventions primarily include the “Underwear Rules” program and psychoeducational sessions using lectures, audiovisual media, worksheets, and roleplay. Internationally, interventions are more diverse, including structured training and game-based approaches, which enhance parental confidence, knowledge, and communication skills. These findings highlight the importance of culturally sensitive programs that actively involve parents as central agents in preventing CSA.

Abstract

The main problem underlying this research is the low social behavior of early childhood children, demonstrated by a tendency to be individualistic, reluctant to share, less willing to cooperate, dominate games, and minimal empathy and concern for friends. This condition emphasizes the importance of implementing learning methods that can encourage active involvement of children while honing their social skills. This research aims to improve children's social behavior by implementing group work methods. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the type of Classroom Action Research (CAR). This was carried out in two cycles, where each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were early childhood group B consisting of 14 children. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation which were then processed through qualitative descriptive analysis supported by simple quantitative data. The research findings indicate an increase in children's social behavior, especially in the aspects of cooperation, sharing, and helping each other. In the pre-action stage, most children were in the underdeveloped category, while in the second cycle most children had reached the category of developing as expected to developing very well. The results of this study confirm that the group work method is effective in improving the social behavior of early childhood children. This research contributes to the development of collaborative learning strategies that focus on strengthening children's social-emotional aspects from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to describe teachers' strategies in stimulating early reading skills in children aged 5–6 years at Asisi Kindergarten Samarinda. Early reading is an important stage in literacy mastery that needs to be developed from an early age. The research subjects consisted of a B-class teacher and 15 children aged 5–6 years. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data collection, reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teachers' strategies in stimulating early reading include three main aspects: (1) early identification of reading difficulties, (2) implementation of a multisensory approach based on the phonics method, and (3) teacher–parent collaboration through shared reading activities. The multisensory phonics approach combines visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and tactile aspects through letter cards, picture books, memory games, and alphabet songs. The results show an improvement in children's ability to recognize letters and sounds, as well as an increase in interest and motivation to read. Thus, a teacher's creative, adaptive, and collaborative strategies play an important role in developing early literacy in young children. Keywords: teacher strategy, early reading, early childhood
