Abstract

The research aimed to investigate how far increasing frequency of tractor traffic tillage on slopy ground could deteriorate land stability and soil productivity has been carried out by observing and analyzing the changes of soil physical-mechanical properties underneath wheel tracks of a 2-WD tractor, at Andisols Order Soil. The experiment was conducted at the experimental field of Sare, gampoeng Aceh Village, Sub-province Aceh Besar, Aceh Province, from April up to September 2009. The altitude is 445 m above sea level. Research method employed, encompassing: (1) variance analysis due to factorial split-plot random design, to observe the effect of the treatments on soil productivity as indicated by soybean plant (Gycin max L.). The design consisted of three levels of treatments of land slope as the main plots, where: k1 = 0 -5 percent (relatively flat), k2 = 6 -10 percent (rather slopy), dan k3 = 11-15 percent (slopy/critical), and six levels of treatments of traffic tillage frequency as split plots, where: l0 = no traffic, l1 = one time traffic, l2 = three times traffic, l3 =  five times traffic, l4 = seven times traffic, and l5 = nine times traffic, each at two replications, respectively; and (2) regression and correlation analysis that was used to observe the relation of  traffic tillage frequency and changes of soil physical-mechanical properties as indications of land stability and productivity changes. Data observed were: soil bulk density, total porosity,  stability index of soil aggregates, soil permeability,  moisture content, soil consistency, soil plasticity, soil cne index, soil shear strength, and land productivity indicated by yield components of soybean plant, i.e.; root length, root weight, and yield of soybean plant. Results of the research generally indicated that maximum percentage of soil physical-mechanical changes occurred in k1 to k3 at l2 was tolerable for its soil stability index was greater than 30 in which the yield of soybean – relatively low though, varied at the local level within 0.6-1.9 tonnes a hectare. Obtained from variance analysis the yield of soybean interacted significantly at l0-l5 as well as at k1-k3. Quantitatively, the results showed that the changes of  soil physical-mechanical properties as well as growth components and yield of soybean were significantly different at increasing frequency of tillage traffic and land slopes. While qualitatively, obtained from regression-correlation analysis the above indication showed polynomial relations of a reliability R2 of  0.96 to 1.00 for yield of soybean plant and stability index of soil aggregates at increasing frequency of traffic tillage of l0-l5  in the three land slopes of k1-k3..

Abstract

Salah satu upaya meningkatkan profesionalisme guru yaitu melalui sertifikasi. Guru-guru biologi di SMA Negeri  Rayon 01 Kabupaten Pidie ada yang belum dan sudah sertifikasi, untuk mengetahui kinerja kedua kelompok guru tersebut dilakukan penelitian tentang Studi Komparatif Kinerja Guru Biologi yang belum Sertifikasi dengan Guru Biologi yang telah Sertifikasi  di SMA Negeri Rayon 01 Kabupaten Pidie.Tujuan yang ingin dicapai melalui penelitian ini adalah (1) Untuk mengetahui kinerja guru biologi yang belum sertifikasi dengan yang telah bersertifikasi di SMA Negeri Rayon 01 Kabupaten Pidie; (2) Untuk mengetahui perbedaan kinerja guru biologi yang belum sertifikasi dan guru biologi yang telah sertifikasi di SMA Negeri Rayon 01 Kabupaten Pidie. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh guru mata pelajaran biologi yang belum dan sudah sertifikasi di SMA Negeri Rayon 01 Kabupaten Pidie. Jumlah populasi sebanyak 40 orang, maka seluruh populasi ditetapkan sebagai sampel penelitian (Population Studies). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya survei, dengan instrumen pengumpulan data adalah lembar observasi kinerja guru. Data dianalisis dengan teknik persentase. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan kinerja guru yang belum dan sudah sertifikasi diuji dengan chi-kuadrat (X2). Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kinerja guru biologi yang belum sertifikasi dengan guru biologi yang sudah sertifikasi pada SMA Negeri Rayon 01 Kabupaten Pidie. Kinerja kompetensi pedagogik dan profesional guru biologi yang sudah sertifikasi lebih baik dari guru biologi yang belum sertifikasi pada SMA Negeri Rayon 01 Kabupaten Pidie.

Abstract

Bakteri probiotik  telah lama digunakan untuk perbaikan pertumbuhan organisme  perairan.  Tujuan penelitian ini  adalah  untuk mengisolasi bakteri kandidat probiotik yang berasosiasi dengan Gracilaria spp., mengevaluasi sifat resistensinya terhadap antibiotik dan  derajat patogensitasnya.  Resistensi diukur berdasarkan diameter  zona bening yang terbentuk dan derajat patogenisitas berdasarkan jumlah spat abalon  yang mati. Hasil isolasi diperoleh 11 isolat bakteri agarolitik  yang  berasosiasi dengan Gracilaria,  6 isolat diperoleh  dari pantai Kuta, 3 isolat dari  tanjung An dan 2 isolat dari pantai Gerupuk.  Isolat-isolat tersebut  memiliki morfologi koloni dan  sel yang beragam serta  aktivitas agarolitik yang berbeda.  Data hasil uji resistensi menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 50%  isolat (6 isolat) bersifat  intermediet atau resisten terhadap antibiotik. Lima isolat yang peka yaitu  Alg2.2, Alg3.1, Alg4.2,  Alg5.1, dan  Alg5.2 tidak bersifat pathogen ketika diuji tantang dengan  spat abalon.  uji tahap lanjutan  perlu dilakukan  untuk menilai potensi isolate tersebut  menjadi kandidat probiotik.

Abstract

This research aim to  know : (1). species of grass eaten by deer and species of grass predominating area of savannah Bekol. (2). Species eaten by bull, and (3). Factors causing downhill it  quality of savannah Bekol. Method used for inventories of species eaten by deer and bull is  method of transek combined with method  square. While to collect data of  factors causing downhill it  quality of savannah of Bekol with  direct perception  in  field and muster relevant information  from data sekunder. The conclusion  from  this research is (1). Found  12 species of grass eaten by deer, and 3 species among others as dominant species that is bayapan (Brachiaria reptans), red lamuran (Dichantium coricosum), and  tuton (Dactyloctenium aegyptium). (2). found  50  species as food of bull in savannah Bekol  from 60 of species of compiler savannah of this area. (3).  Factors influencing reduction of quality of  savannah in Bekol is : Invasion A. nilotia, bush groaning savannah, existence of tread  by animal, fire effect, and over grazing.

Abstract

Tujuan jangka panjang penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan suatu plastik kemasan makanan dari bahan baku khitosan dari limbah kulit udang dan pati tapioka dari ubi kayu dengan karakteristik selain kuat pada saat digunakan akan tetapi segera hancur pada saat dibuang. Target khusus yang ingin dicapai yaitu memperoleh informasi tentang pengaruh komposisi khitosan dan pati tapioka dengan minyak kelapa sawit sebagai pemlastis terhadap kemampuan biodegradasi bioplastik. Untuk mencapai tujuan jangka panjang dan target khusus tersebut maka dilakukan eksperimen di laboratorium. Percobaan yang dilakukan meliputi ekstraksi pati tapioka dari ubi kayu, pembuatan bioplastik dengan cara blending antara pati tapioka, khitosan, dan minyak kelapa sawit pada berbagai komposisi, analisis dan karakterisasi. Karakterisasi yang dilakukan yaitu uji biodegradasi beserta karakterisasinya. Karakterisasi hasil biodegradasi dilakukan dengan cara penentuan kehilangan berat. Hasil isolasi pati tapioka diperoleh rendemen sebesar 12,03% b/b. Hasil sintesis diperoleh film bioplastik yang transparan. Hasil uji biodegradasi terhadap bioplastik diperoleh informasi bahwa laju biodegradasi bioplastik pada berbagai komposisi menunjukkan kecenderungan yang sama, yakni semakin lama waktu inkubasi maka semakin tinggi kehilangan berat sampel. Semakin tinggi kandungan pati tapioka dalam campuran bioplastik maka semakin tinggi kehilangan berat pada lama waktu inkubasi yang sama.

Abstract

The study of learning model based on  problem instruction is aimed to improve learning output in animal structure and tissue function in class XI SMA I Meulaboh. The population is all of students from class XI consisting of 5 classes and 184 students. Five students was taken from each class as the sample based on the result of the examination which is lower than SKBM (equivalen with 65 in Meulaboh). The data was collected by giving pretest and postest. T-test on level α= 0,05 was obtained t-score = 29,7 and t-table = 1,71. It revealed that t-score t-table, so that the HA was accepted. The activity of the  teachers and students in learning process has done about 81,7 % and 94,6 % which was in good catagory. The students has completed the learning process in that sub concept.

Abstract

Has done research on the extraction of natural pigments from bark of Jamblang (Syzygium cumini) as a base for textile dyes. This study aims to extract natural dyes from bark of  Jamblang as the base material of textile dyes. The research was conducted in the laboratory of Chemistry FKIP Syiah Kuala University. The population in this study is Jamblang bark (Syzygium cumini) in Ujung Batee, Aceh Besar as much as 3 kg. A total of 500 gram sample of wet bark of jamblang sokhletasi extracted with 2500 ml of water. Water extract was concentrated by evaporator and the viscous extract obtained as many as 77.984 grams. Confirmation test results of water condensed tannins in the bark extract showed a positive presence jamblang hydrolyzed tannins. Viscous extract obtained water test conducted on fabric dyeing, paper, and wood. Dyeing process is done by soaking for 1 hour at a temperature of 100oC and followed by a fixation on the fabric color by using FeSO4, alum, and potassium bichromate for 15 minutes. Dyeing with bark extract of Jamblang give good results on fabric and paper, whereas the only stain on the wood surface is uneven. The results of dyeing the cloth with a fixation process to vary the color and fastness is good.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effectiveness of the leaf extract of the Avicennia marina as an antibacterial and natural preservatives to prolong the shelf life of the fish. The method used is the experimental method completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial, consisting of treatment concentration of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% extract, positive control, and negative control. A number of bacterial colonies were analyzed by Anava and Duncan test (JNTD) at the level of 0.05. The results showed that the decline in the number of bacterial colonies on the treatment of 20% extract (P4) during the storage period of 12 hours and 24 hours of 34 and 37 colonies. Physical testing best fish in the extract 20% during the storage period of 12 hours of the appearance of clear eyes, skin taut, red gills, meat chewy and dense consistency. Organoleptic testing showed 20% extract treatment is much preferred by the panelists for aroma, flavor, color and texture of the fish is still very fresh. Based on the results of the study concluded that the use of Avicennia marina leaf extract is effective as an antibacterial and a natural preservative on the Euthynus affinis at a concentration of 20%

Abstract

This research studied the application of chitosan on salted mackerel (Rastrelliger sp.) preservation during storage at room temperature. The research is aimed to study the effect chitosan concentration and storage time for Total Plate Count (TPC). The study was conducted in Laboratory of Microbiology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Syiah Kuala University from April to August 2012. The research method was laboratory experimental.  The data was analyzed by Randomized Completely Design with two factorial. The first factor was chitosan concentration (three levels: 0%; 1%; 2%) while the second factor was storage time (four levels: 0; 2; 4; 8 weeks). The results of this study indicated that chitosan concentration was not significantly different for the Total Plate Count (p0,05), however storage time was significantly for the Total Plate Count (p0,05). Futhermore, the interaction chitosan concentration and storage time was significantly for the Total Plate Count (p0,05).

Abstract

This research aimed to identify misconception of senior high school students class XI in SMAN 1 Lhokseumawe in learning concept of factors that affect chemical reaction rate. The instrument used in this research was 20 multiple choice questions with reasons and equipped by CRI (Certainty of Response Index) which is used to measure the degree of certainty of students’ answers. There were 38 students as respondents in this research. The data shown that 13,16% of students held misconceptions relating to the effect of surface area on rates of reaction, 57,89% students held misconceptions relating to the effect of catalyst on rates of reaction, 57,89% students held misconceptions relating to the effect of temperature on rates of reaction, However there none of students misunderstood about the effect of reactant concentration and pressure  to chemical reaction rate and most of them understood about the collision theory.
