Abstract

Islam has laid down certain principles and limits for the economic activity of man so that the entire pattern of production, exchange and distribution of wealth shall be in conformity with the laid principles of Maqasidi-Shar’iah. Zakah is one of the medium through which wealth is distributed among the less privilege members of the society. Its’ collection and disbursement have played major role in mitigating the economic hardship among the beneficiaries. In the past, collection and disbursement of Zakat were done through traditional method of face to face. Nowadays the digital technology provided very potential windows to enhance the collection and disbursement of Zakah. Hence, the dire need to harness the digital technology in reaching out to beneficiaries of zakah. This paper therefore examines the potentiality of using the principles of digital economy in collection and disbursement of Zakah in Nigeria. The data collection involves the use of primary and secondary sources. The findings show that digital economy proves effective means in the collection and disbursement of Zakah. The paper recommends the adoption of digital technology by the various Zakah collectors in the collection and disbursement of Zakah proceeds. The paper concludes that adoption of digital economy will go a long way in addressing the problem of unequal distribution among the beneficiaries of zakah in Nigeria and elsewhere in the globe.

Abstract

The challenges and discrimination facing the Hijab in the contemporary world against the Muslim women is definitely a worrisome. The objective of this paper is to make a conceptual exertion relating to the challenges and discrimination facing the Hijab in the contemporary multicultural society. The concepts of Hijab, Multiculturalism were discussed. We also looked at the social, economic, psychological, and cultural concepts as designed in the conceptual framework of the study. The paper explained the objectives off the hijab from the Islamic point of view covering obligation, religiosity, chastity, modesty, and piety. The study concludes that ignorance and lack of piety, modesty, and religiosity were among the major challenges responsible for the negligence of practicing the commandment of wearing hijab by some Muslim women. In addition to that, lack of consciousness of Almighty Allah by many Muslim woman, liberalism, western civilization, fashioning the hijab, modern Medias, and several others are some of the major challenges facing the hijab in the Muslim world.

Abstract

This paper Islam, westernization and the roots of modernism in Muslim land is aim at providing the need insight and the causes of the negative effects of the western modernism among Muslims. The paper discussed the western and Islamic modernization and how both of the civilization contributed to the progress of humanity and how the western modernization has negatively affected the Muslim Ummah around the world. It was discovered that Muslim elites has contributed to the infiltration of the western world into Muslim land either due their quest for power in their various countries. It is also revealed that imitators of the western life styles by Muslims most especially those who have traveled to study in either Europe and America only returned to imitate and spread such tendencies in their societies. It was discovered that Islam follows the wind of change once it is not against the true teachings of Islam and moral values as of Islam. The researchers employed desk review method as a mode of data and information for this research where major literary work was utilised. The paper concluded that, Islam accepted any change that comes it way in as far as it does not go social, economic, political and moral system of Islam as taught in the Qur’an and Sunnah of the Prophet (may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

Abstract

Secularists often spread lies about Islamic history and thus distort Islamic history. As Muslims, we must maintain the authenticity of Islamic history so that it can be properly understood by current and future generations. This article discusses the urgency of understanding Islamic history theoretically, as well as according to the paradigm of Yusuf Al Qardhawi which will be described in detail in this article. By using a descriptive qualitative approach with the aim of defining history, historical urgency, as well as describing theory and development, interpreting Yusuf Al Qaradawi's paradigm of the urgency of understanding Islamic history. This study resulted in the following discussions: 1) Yusuf Musthafa al-Qardhawi is one of the great scholars born in Cairo as well as a Muslim scholar who has had many works in various fields of science; 2) history is the knowledge or science of important events and events for many people or societies that occurred in the past that occurred to humans, society and nature chronologically or not; 3) History has 3 important essences, namely history as a science, history as events and history as stories; 4) By studying Islamic history, it is hoped that one can know and understand the growth and development of Islamic civilization, from the time of its birth to the present, and 5) According to Yusuf Al Qardhawi, the de-Islamization movement that aims to decredit Islam one of them is historical distortion, not all information recorded in history books is one hundred percent true. Many history books have distorted and lies that can be proven through intensive study. Therefore, it is important to study Islamic history that is studied by Muslims themselves so that Islamic history does not occur distortions).

Abstract

Islamic religious education in Indonesia has undergone various changes in the development of its curriculum. Education itself has an important and influential role in changing a person. In the context of the moral and moral crisis that is currently sweeping Indonesia, education is expected to help overcome the current crisis. Seeing these problems, the perennialism approach in the development of the Islamic religious education curriculum aims to maintain traditional values that are considered to have eternal and universal truths. In this approach, the curriculum is designed to focus on fundamental values such as faith, morals, and worship, as well as the formation of strong character and good morals. Effective and efficient teaching methods, such as discussion, question and answer, and problem solving, are also emphasized in this approach. It needs to be adapted to the conditions of the times so that traditional values remain relevant in modern life.

Abstract

In carrying out the task of managing zakat, BAZNAS Provinsi Sumatera Barat conducts Public Information Campaign activities in this research in the form of socialization. However, after the socialization activities were carried out the response from the target did not match what was expected. Response that is not in line with expectations can indicate that there is a problem in the activity process. This study aims to explain the management of the Public Information Campaign by using the theory of Planning and Managing Public Relations Campaign by Anne Gregory that apply in BAZNAS Provinsi Sumatera Barat. This research was conducted using a qualitative method. The results of the study indicate that the management activities of the Public Information Campaign by BAZNAS of West Sumatra Province have been running quite well. The form of the campaign carried out is still face to face and has not utilized mass media or new technology.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the priority problems and solutions for optimizing zakat receipts for agricultural products at BAZNAS Majalengka Regency. The research method used is descriptive quantitative by analyzing the responses to the questionnaire distributed to seven expert respondents from the fields of academia, practitioners and regulators. Based on previous research, four aspects were determined from the problem dimension and the solution dimension, namely the literacy aspect, the management aspect, the regulatory aspect, and the institutional aspect. The analysis process uses the Analytic Network Process (ANP) tool via the Super Decision 3.2 application. The results showed that the problem that became a priority was the aspect of literacy which showed that the receipt of zakat from agricultural products was not optimal because the level of community literacy was still low with a GmK value of 0.3518. Likewise with priority solutions in the aspect of literacy where education and outreach regarding zakat on agricultural products is still very much needed by the community with a GmK value of 0.3766.

Abstract

As a pillar of Islam, zakat holds profound meaning and socioeconomic significance. However, oversight deficiencies have constrained its capacity for poverty alleviation. This paper explores emerging technologies - including blockchain, artificial intelligence, and mobile platforms - to strengthen zakat management. Through a qualitative literature review, we examine the digital transformation of zakat systems. We argue for cautious technology adoption to enhance transparency, efficiency, and inclusivity while aligning with Islamic ethics. Guiding principles grounded in maqasid al-shariah are offered, emphasizing human discretion and oversight. While risks around exclusion, security, and algorithmic bias necessitate vigilance, thoughtfully implemented technology can optimize zakat distribution and amplify impact. By leveraging innovation to uphold foundational values, zakat can fulfil its noble obligations of uplifting communities and promoting social justice.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the strategy for managing zakat funds to improve people's welfare at the Bengkalis Regional Zakat Agency (BAZNAS).The research was conducted using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, in which the data were obtained through interviews, observation, documentation, and a literature review. The results showed that the strategy for managing zakat funds used by the Amil Zakat Agency of Bengkalis Regency was to increase cooperation with various agencies, including government agencies, often by conducting socialization through seminars on zakat. They were growing the competence of Amil Human Resources (HR), the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ), and volunteers and developing an information and communication technology (ICT) system for managing zakat. While the obstacles are the lack of public understanding of zakat and the lack of public trust in the Amil Zakat Agency, Bengkalis Regency. The solutions implemented by BAZNAS Bengkalis Regency to overcome obstacles include BAZNAS having to carry out transparency in management, modernization of control, and publication of zakat management. The Bengkalis Regency National Amil Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) needs to involve government and private institutions in programs that can assist mustahik in using zakat funds. As well as, the role of local government in improving the management of zakat can increase people's motivation to pay zakat. There needs to be in-depth research on zakat in the regions, and Bengkalis Regency has a different program from the other areas in Indonesia.
