Abstract

Holistic education is education which appreciates all of students’ potencies in learning process. This research is aimed at analyzing the implementation of holistic education in multilingual program of Madrasah Mu’allimaat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The  research  was  a descriptive-qualitative  approach  with  data  collection  techniques: in-depth  interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The analysis of the data was by reduction, display, and provided conclusions. The result of the research shows that: (1) the implementation of holistic education toward the students of Multilingual program of Madrasah Mu’allimaat was held through four quotients: spiritual quotient (SQ), emotional quotient (EQ), adversity quotient (AQ), and intellectual quotient (IQ) in which those quotients are integrated to madrasah and boarding. (2) Holistic education has impact on the transformation of the students’ character values, which are (1) intrinsic religiosity with deep faith-planted inside, (2) able to control emotion, self-motivated, care, and well-socialized, (3) the improvement of academic achievement, and (4) tough in facing problems, not easy of being hopeless, stressful, or frustrated.

Abstract

The learning organization is a strategic process for every university as a public service institution to improve its performance. Learning organizations have an essential role in linking past experiences to future improvements in changing State Islamic Universities in Indonesia to achieve international standards. This study aimed to describe the State Islamic University's learning organization profile in Indonesia and reveal its readiness towards international standards. This study used a survey approach, collecting data through closed questionnaires and open-ended questions involving 300 respondents consisting of lecturers and employees of the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistics with a benchmark scale and explanations. The results showed that the average score on all learning organization variables was low, below the benchmark scale. This result was in line with lecturers and employees' perception that most of them (68%) expressed pessimism about universities' readiness to achieve international standards. In conclusion, the State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga has not fully become a learning organization as a bridge of change towards an international standard.

Abstract

This paper discusses the motivation and vision of state Islamic higher education leaders in their attempt to improve higher education quality after the institutional change. This is a field descriptive qualitative study which is conducted in IAIN Purwokerto and IAIN Pekalongan. The data collection is done using documentation and interview method; the data is analyzed using an interactive analysis model which covers steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification/conclusion. The results of the study are as follows: (1) the institutional change which is frequently experienced by state Islamic higher education institutions is considered as the starting point of the effort to increase academic and institutional quality. This institutional change must be followed by well-prepared quality management of higher education institutions; planned, executed, monitored, and evaluated synergically; (2) the leader’s motivation and vision serve as an important aspect in the effort to improve the institutional quality. The motivation and vision must be elaborated into real and calculated actions, as well as supported by transformational leadership; and (3) the accreditation and fulfillment of facilities and infrastructure of higher education is a tool the final objective of which is the establishment of true quality, namely quality culture displayed by the academic community. As a recommendation, the motivation and vision of higher education leaders should focus on improving internal institutions, improving education services and public accountability, and the relevance of education to the future needs of the new generation in the future.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perkembangan kurikulum dalam menghadapi tuntutan kompetensi abad 21 di Indonesia, pada dasarnya kurikulum bertujuan untuk mengatur kemajuan pembelajaran. Perkembangan kurikulum selalu bergerak mengikuti perkembangan zaman, ditandai dengan perkembangan teknologi. Itulah penunjang dalam proses belajar mengajar. Perkembangan kurikulum selalu bergerak mengikuti perkembangan zaman, ditandai dengan perkembangan teknologi. Itulah penunjang dalam proses belajar mengajar. Permasalahan terkait pengembangan kurikulum dalam menghadapi kompetensi abad 21 di Indonesia adalah: Perkembangan kurikulum di era global, peran guru abad 21 dan tuntutan kompetensi dalam pengembangan kurikulum. Fokus penelitian ini adalah pengembangan kurikulum untuk menghadapi tuntutan kompetensi abad 21 di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pustaka (review research) dan studi analisis untuk membangun tatanan teoritis atas materi ini. Setelah menyelesaikan penelitian ini, diketahui bahwa kurikulum yang diberikan kepada siswa diharapkan dapat menjadi bekal bagi kehidupan masyarakat dan bukan untuk kepentingan individu, dan guru diharapkan mampu melakukan segala sesuatu yang dapat mengoptimalkan pembelajaran siswa. Dari hasil penelitian juga diketahui bahwa paradigma mengajar yang menjadi paradigma pembelajaran merupakan tuntutan kompetensi dalam pengembangan kurikulum khususnya pada abad 21.

Abstract

This article discusses the organization and design of curriculum development in Indonesia. It discusses the elements of education concerning the development of character in Indonesia. So in developing an educational curriculum in Indonesia it is necessary to evaluate a targeted education curriculum in line with the learning methods of students. Such as the boredom experienced by students while learning in the class. And the lack of teacher preparation in teaching makes the curriculum function role not run optimally. Special theories are required and has been needed for developing the method and learning out come in the Islamic Education curriculum design. The purpose of this study, to find out firsthand the process of implementing the curriculum in Indonesia, especially about the Islamic education curriculum. Then from the aim of this research, it is hoped that it can help in developing the organization and curriculum design of PAI in Indonesia. For this reason, the curriculum in Indonesia needs to be designed with development and direction in the challenges of the globalization era. To achieve this, students, teachers, and students need to appreciate by creating a curriculum that can facilitate the course of Islamic education in Indonesia. This research method, using library research. The author thoroughly discusses the organizational problems and design of the development of the curriculum Islamic education in Indonesia. The author also approaches by referring to various scientific studies of journal sources. The results of this study, that the organization and design of the Education curriculum are very influential in student development. Also, in developing the design organization Islamic education  curriculum development in Indonesia is expected to be able to compete nationally and internationally.

Abstract

Curriculum development is an important thing to do. In Indonesia, there have been ten curriculum changes that have started from the 1947 Curriculum to the present, the 2013 Curriculum. In fact, the curriculum changes show that the principles of education must be able to adjust the development of the times without leaving the cultural values of the relevant community. The purpose of this research is to find out the principles in curriculum development. This research uses library research method. The results of this study indicate that curriculum development resources, including; empirical data, experimental data, folklore and general public knowledge. The principles in curriculum development are divided into two things: 1. General Principles, which include; the principle of relevance, the principle of flexibility, the principle of continuity, the practical principle, and the principle of effectiveness, 2. Special Principles, which include; principles for determining educational objectives, principles for selecting educational content, principles for selecting teaching and learning processes, principles for selecting media and teaching tools, and principles relating to assessment.

Abstract

Development of cocurricular and extracurricular activities is important to do, because intracuricular activities are felt to be lacking in developing students' potential. Thus, the need for companion activities that can help maximize the potential of students. The purpose of this study was to investigate the development of cocuricular and extracurricular activities. This research uses library research method (library research). The results of the research on the development of cocurricular activities, namely in their activities, must lead to activities that support intracuricular activities and student learning interests, do not contain excessive burdensome burdens, and require administration, guidance or assistance, monitoring, and assessment. While the development of extracurricular activities through several stages including: 1) needs analysis which also aims to identify the needs, potential, and interests of students. 2) determine the type of extracurricular activities through tests, questionnaires, and interviews. 3) compile an extracurricular activity program. 4) implementation phase. 5) monitoring and evaluation phase. In the development of extracurricular activities, it is also supported by education unit policies, the availability of coaches, and the availability of educational unit facilities and infrastructure

Abstract

Isu kepemimpinan transformasional dalam pendidikan Islam selalu menarik, karena peran dan pengaruhnya yang sangat besar dalam memajukan organisasi pendidikan. Apalagi, dalam era perubahan sosial yang sangat cepat dan tuntutan mutu pendidikan yang tinggi, kepemimpinan transformatif diperlukan dalam pendidikan Islam agar pendidikan dapat beradaptasi dengan perubahan dan perbaikan secara berkelanjutan. Kajian ini mendiskusikan peran kepemimpinan transformasional dan urgensinya dalam pendidikan Islam untuk mengelaborasi bagaimana implementasi kepemimpinan transformasional dalam pendidikan Islam. Penelitian ini berbasis pada studi kepustakaan dengan menggunakan data yang bersumber pada kepustakaan, baik buku dan artikel hasil-hasil penelitian sebelumnya yang mendukung fokus kajian ini. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa kepemimpinan transformasional memuat nilai-nilai dasar yang sejalan dengan ruh kepemimpinan pendidikan Islam. Kepemimpinan transformasional memiliki peran penting dan urgensi yang tinggi untuk mendorong pendidikan Islam mampu beradaptasi dengan cepat dalam menghadapi tantangan dan perubahan dan perbaikan secara berkelanjutan untuk mencapai hasil pendidikan Islam yang bermutu

Abstract

Full day dan half day school merupakan dua sistem pendidikan yang berlaku di Indonesia. Datangnya era globalisasi yang mengakibatkan pesatnya kemajuan teknologi informasi, menimbulkan berbagai masalah dan tantangan bagi kedua sistem pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui problem dan tantang full day school dan half day school di era globalisasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ialah studi pustaka atau library research dan dianalisis dengan teknik analisis konten atau isi. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat beberapa problem pada full day school dan half day school di era globalisasi yakni pertama, kecanduan terhadap teknologi seperti HP dan sosial media. Kedua, semakin memudarnya nilai-nilai agama. Ketiga, adanya persaingan global dan terkikisnya nilai-nilai sosial. Sedangkan tantangan yang dihadapi full day school dan half day school di era globalisasi yakni pertama, tantangan dalam mencetak generasi atau peserta didik yang mempunyai pengetahuan yang luas. Kedua, tantangan akan berbagai keterampilan yang harus dimiliki peserta didik baik soft skill maupun hard skill. Ketiga, yakni menciptakan peserta didik yang mempunyai akhlak mulia
