Abstract

Learning math is like training logical thinking, intelligence, focus and also systematics. One of the most important materials in math is Pythagorean Theorem. It is used in many aspects of life and helps us to solve daily problems. However, many students still cannot use it we even they have learned it. The aim of this study research is to describe the students’ learning ability process through discovery learning model using GeoGebrasoftware on Pythagorean Theorem. The subjects of this study were the students of SMP Negeri 6 Banda Aceh 29 students of grade VIII-8. The data which was analyzed is formed tasks which were done in groups and video analysis. The results of study showed that the students are able to accomplish worksheet through GeoGebra assistedand all of them are able to take conclusion symbolically yet not by using their own words. The first group was failed to count third area but they succeeded on counting other areas which lead them to the right conclusion. The second group’s fault was on naming a square particularly on its third area however they were better taking the right conclusion. The obstacles of learning process were (1) limitation of time, (2) only some students practice using GeoGebra software, (3) laptops used were slow and not responding, (4) even the student did not understand the beginning explanations.  Keywords:     learning, discovery learning model, GeoGebra software, Pythagorean Theorem.

Abstract

This paper is to identify the Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT) of Sailing Yacht tourism based on empirical evidence, mainly on demand aspects. The results will be very useful for decision-makers to design, launch and control marketing strategies and policies including promotional aspects to increase the awareness of the yacht sailors from various parts of the world, arouse their intention to come, increase spending and length of stay in Sabang as a free trade zone in west part of Indonesia. Data collection was conducted qualitatively by using Focus Group Discussion (FGD) technique conducted in 4 (four) sessions. Each session involves 10 (ten) sailors that serve as respondents. The data were then analyzed using both score and weight associated with IFAS and EFAS aspects. The output is mapped in Cartesian graphs. The finding of this study is that the strategy that must be implemented by Sabang is an Aggressive strategy, which uses the Strength to seize the profitable Opportunities. This is in line with the combined strategy that recommends Strength Opportunity (SO) as a priority strategy because it has the highest value of 16.92. In sequence, the next strategy is Weakness Opportunities (WO) that is to fix the Weakness in other to be able to grab the profitable Opportunities so that untapped opportunities can be utilized for the benefit of the sailors and tour operators. Then ST and WT strategies will be implemented to complete all 4 strategies recommended. With the implementation of these four strategies based on the priority scale, it is expected to maximize the utilization of limited resources, but also at the same time maximize the efforts made to achieve the goal of increasing the number of sailor visits to Sabang and increasing their length of stay. Keywords: yacht, marine tourism, Sabang, Phuket, Langkawi, travel destinations, sports tourism, Pulau Weh, marina.

Abstract

As a Malay variant which belongs to the Austronesian group (PAN), Tamiang Language (TL for short) should have inherited various elements of its proto including phonemes. This paper is aimed to analyze the inheritance of Proto vowels in TL and the types of their changes. The source of data of TL is from 200 words included in Swadesh list as the references while collecting data. Data were collected by one-on-one interview which was conducted structurally (Creswell, 2009). Data then were recorded and noted phonemically. Data from the proto language were found out from the gloss in the Proto Austronesian Dictionary. The data was then analyzed following qualitative method. The result showed that most vowels in PAN inherited linearly in TL. However, some changes can also be recognized due to the phonetic environment or sporadic reasons. PAN*/i/ inherited linearly into /i/ in TL in initial, medial and final position of the word. However, sound change can also be recognized in */i/ /ǝ/ and /e/. PAN */u/ inherited linearly to /u/ in TL in medial and final position. Due to sporadic correspondence, */u/ changed into /i/, /ɔ/ and /o/. PAN */ǝ/ inherited regularly into /ǝ/ in TL in initial and medial position. However, */ǝ/ also changes into /a/. Then */a/ inherited into /a/ in initial and medial position, yet, in final position /a/ is contributed complementarily with /ǝ/. This change happened sporadically due to error in language use or the influence of other language toward TL.

Abstract

Government policy to explore the source of state budgeting base on tax impressed is still not enough when compared to policies in the development sector. The potential that can be explored is tourism, considering Indonesia is an archipelago and abundant tourism potential both inland and marine tourism. Tourism potential is expected to increase state revenues and revenues for regions that have tourism. Various ways to accelerate the development of tourism, both physical and human resources are poured form of policy; one of these policies is enforced visa-free for tourists. However, the policy is not in line with the supervision so that it is abused by foreigners. This research use normative method, research that relies on norms and legal principles related to government policy in the application of visa-free for foreigners who impact on crime. The results of this study illustrate that, the government's policy on tourism has a negative impact that is the abuse of residence permit for foreigners. While the positive impact of the regulation is the number of tourists who come to Indonesia that increased, so as to increase revenue for the state and income for the region. However, the most important of these regulations is the absence of prevention efforts.  Tourists should only do tourism activities, but instead even many foreigners who work in the territory of Indonesia with the mode of tourism (visa-free). Tourism management model that must be implemented is the supervision of tourists. So the burden and heavy duty on the Directorate General of Immigration is because the institution is authorized both the enforcement and supervision of foreigners who come to Indonesia.
