Abstract

Background: Postpartum is a critical transition period marked by significant physical and psychological changes that may increase vulnerability to stress. Postpartum stress can interfere with maternal functioning, emotional regulation, and caregiving capacity. Psychological well-being is considered a protective factor that enables mothers to adapt to postpartum challenges. Purpose: To examine the relationship between psychological well-being and postpartum stress among mothers. Method: This study used a quantitative correlational design involving postpartum mothers 2–12 months after delivery. The study was conducted among postpartum mothers residing in the Greater Jakarta area with a postpartum period of 2–12 months, conducted from October 2025 to February 2026. Data were collected using validated psychological well-being and postpartum stress scales. Results: There was no significant relationship between psychological well-being and postpartum stress (r = 0.054, p = 0.569), indicating that the level of psychological well-being was not significantly associated with postpartum stress. Conclusion: No significant relationship was found between psychological well-being and postpartum stress among postpartum mothers. Postpartum stress appears to be more closely associated with situational, biological, and social factors than with psychological well-being.   Keywords: Maternal Mental Health; Postpartum Stress; Psychological Well-Being.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic disease caused by impaired insulin utilization or insufficient insulin production, resulting in hyperglycemia and an increased risk of complications such as cardiovascular disease, kidney disorders, retinopathy, and neuropathy. The control and prevention of complications depend not only on medical therapy but also on patients' self-care behaviors. Maria Walanda Maramis Regional General Hospital is required to implement health education through the Hospital Health Promotion Program in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation Number 44 of 2018. However, its implementation still faces several challenges. Purpose: To analyze the relationship between knowledge, attitude, and risk perception with T2DM complication prevention behaviors in patients. Method: This analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted at Internal Medicine Polyclinic, Maria Walanda Maramis Regional Hospital, December 2025 to January 2026. A total of 103 respondents were selected using consecutive sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires covering knowledge, attitude, risk perception (Champion’s HBM Scale), and T2DM complications prevention behaviors. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis, bivariate analysis(Chi-Square), and multivariate analysis (ordinal logistic regression). Results: There was a significant relationship between attitude and T2DM complication prevention behaviors (p = 0.004). There was no significant relationship between knowledge level (p = 0.066) or risk perception (p = 0.421) and prevention behaviors. Multivariate analysis confirmed that attitude was the most dominant factor (p = 0.007, OR = 0.066), with a variable  contribution of 24.2% (Nagelkerke R² = 0.242). Conclusion: Increasing knowledge alone is insufficient to drive behavioral change. Complication preventive behavior is the outcome of a complex psychological process. Therefore, health interventions should not only focus on providing information but also on fostering positive attitudes, increasing motivation, and strengthening self-efficacy so  that individuals can consistently adopt preventive behaviors. Suggestion: Future research should examine other relevant factors such as self-efficacy, family support, and psychosocial factors, as well as utilize a longitudinal design to establish stronger causal relationships.   Keywords: Attitudes; Complications Prevention; Diabetes Mellitus Type 2; Health Belief Model; Knowledge; Risk Perception.

Abstract

Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a global health problem caused by dengue virus infection, with the Aedes aegypti mosquito as the primary vector. This disease has a broad clinical spectrum, ranging from mild symptoms to severe complications such as Dengue Shock Syndrome (DSS), which can be fatal. Therefore, simple laboratory parameters are needed to help assess disease severity early. One widely studied hematological biomarker is the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), which represents the systemic inflammatory response. Purpose: To analyze the relationship between the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and the clinical severity of dengue hemorrhagic fever. Method: This observational, analytical, and cross-sectional study was conducted from July to August 2025 on 24 patients diagnosed with DHF at Benyamin Guluh Regional General Hospital, Kolaka Regency. The research equipment used included a hematology analyzer, 3cc syringes, tourniquets, hand spoons (PPE), EDTA tubes, and test tube racks. The research materials used were patient blood samples, cotton swabs, 70% alcohol, and plasters. Data collection used secondary data from DHF patient medical records and primary data from blood sample examination results. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Results: All participants with DHF grades 1 and 2 had normal NLR values, while the majority of participants with grades 3 and 4 had abnormal NLRs (5 participants with grade 3 and 7 participants with grade 4). The Chi-Square test yielded a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant association between NLR values and DHF severity. Conclusion: There is a significant association between NLR and DHF severity, with the higher the grade, the greater the likelihood of an abnormal NLR. Suggestion: Studies with larger sample sizes and including other variables, such as platelet count, hematocrit, and clinical manifestations, are recommended to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the relationship between NLR and DHF severity.   Keywords: Clinical Grade; Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever; Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio.

Abstract

Background: Completeness of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) is an important indicator of the quality of clinical documentation and healthcare services. However, monitoring the completeness of EMRs in hospitals remains suboptimal because it is still conducted manually. Therefore, a monitoring dashboard integrated with the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) is required to facilitate accurate and real-time monitoring of clinical documentation. Purpose: To develop an HMIS-based dashboard for monitoring the completeness of Electronic Medical Records and to evaluate its implementation in improving the quality of clinical documentation in the inpatient ward. Method: A Research and Development (R&D) method with a pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted in April-May 2026 in the Camar Inpatient Ward, Ajibarang Regional Hospital. The samples consisted of 132 EMR documents assessed before the dashboard implementation and 126 EMR documents assessed after the implementation. The research stages included identifying the initial conditions, developing the dashboard, implementing the system, and evaluating the completeness of clinical documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing the percentages of EMR completeness before and after the dashboard implementation. Results: The average completeness rate of EMRs before the dashboard implementation was 32.4%, indicating that several clinical documentation components remained incomplete. Following the implementation of the HMIS-based monitoring dashboard, all assessed documentation components reached 100% completeness. The dashboard provided real-time monitoring of documentation completeness, summaries of incomplete records, and a warning system for incomplete clinical documentation. Conclusion: The HMIS-based Electronic Medical Record completeness monitoring dashboard was effective in improving the quality of clinical documentation and supporting faster, more structured, and more efficient monitoring and evaluation processes. Suggestion: Hospitals are encouraged to maintain and expand the implementation of the monitoring dashboard across other inpatient wards to ensure consistent and sustainable completeness of Electronic Medical Records.   Keywords: Clinical Documentation Quality; Electronic Medical Records; Hospital Management Information System; Monitoring Dashboard.
