Abstract

Phygital learning environments, which merge tangible play with real-time digital feedback, are gaining attention in early childhood education, yet their socioemotional impact remains underexplored. Existing studies on phygital systems primarily emphasize cognitive or usability outcomes, leaving limited empirical evidence on how interface design shapes children’s emotional and social behaviours. This study investigated how phygital interface design supports socioemotional competencies among Malaysian preschoolers. Fifteen children aged 5-6 from two preschools engaged with Osmo phygital games involving both individual and collaborative play. Video recordings, observation checklists, and field notes were analysed using reflexive thematic analysis, supported by triangulation and peer debriefing to ensure credible behavioural interpretation. Findings show socioemotional behaviours like self-awareness, self-control, self-concept, self-confidence, and social skills with empathy emerge from design features such as hybridization, tangibility, interactivity, multisensory feedback, contextual relevance, personalization, and collaboration. Embodied emotional feedback enhanced self-regulation, hybrid tangible-digital play promoted motivation and confidence, and collaborative interaction strengthened empathy and peer support. This study positions phygital interfaces as emotionally responsive systems that integrate affective, cognitive, and social learning, offering evidence-based design implications for child-centred educational technologies.

The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design to obtain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of educational administration within the madrasah environment. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving the principal, three homeroom teachers, six parents, and eight students from different grade levels. The findings reveal that educational administration governance has played a significant role in improving the effectiveness of educational management, particularly in academic administration, student data management, coordination among educational staff, and educational services. The principal actively conducted supervision and evaluation of administrative processes, while teachers contributed to managing learning administration and academic reporting. Parents and students also perceived the administrative services as sufficiently responsive and supportive of educational activities. However, the study identified several challenges, including limited digitalization of administrative systems and manual data management practices, which affected administrative efficiency and service quality. The study concludes that strengthening educational administration governance through technology-based administrative systems, organizational coordination, and continuous evaluation can significantly improve the quality of educational management. This research contributes theoretically to educational management studies and practically provides recommendations for improving administrative governance in Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Strengthening Character Education Program (PPK) based on the Pancasila Student Profile at SD Negeri 10 Way Lima Pesawaran. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research explores the planning, implementation, evaluation, and the supporting and inhibiting factors of the program in an elementary school setting. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis involving principals, teachers, and students, then analyzed inductively through coding and thematic interpretation. The results indicate that the implementation of PPK has been carried out effectively through the integration of Pancasila values into classroom learning, school culture, and community-based activities. The principal’s leadership and teachers’ active participation are key factors contributing to the success of the program. However, several challenges remain, including limited teacher understanding of value integration, inadequate facilities, and low parental participation. The study concludes that the success of PPK implementation in rural elementary schools depends largely on the commitment, collaboration, and value-oriented culture developed within the school. The findings provide important implications for the development of a contextual, adaptive, and sustainable model for implementing the Pancasila Student Profile in elementary education.
