Abstract

The research objective is to develop an instrument for assessing sustainable tourism in the context of ecological resilience in Pari Island, DKI Jakarta. This study uses research and development methods through the ADDIE model approach. The research sample includes potential and factual coral reef areas for tourism in Pari Island. The results of the study concluded that the validation of important instruments includes: (1) natural/biological criteria, namely unique and beautiful coral reefs, quite unique tidal phenomena, endemic flora and fauna such as seagrass and fish habitat, as well as other aquatic biota, ease of observing aquatic biota, opportunities for trekking, snorkeling, etc. as well as the support of comfortable temperature and humidity, normal rainfall conditions, as well as well-managed household industrial waste; and (2) Physical environmental criteria such as dominant beaches, controlled coastal land conversion rate and protected from pollution, ease of utilizing rocky beaches for friendly productive activities. The environment, such as maintaining fish, marine tourism, and others as well as the existence of a map of the distribution of coral reefs that accurately depicts local potential as well as information related to the low risk of natural disasters (landslides, floods, tsunamis).

Abstract

There have been many studies on flood disaster mitigation policy directions, but they have not been widely developed in Indonesia as a tropical country with a unique rainfall pattern. This is an indicator used to assess the level of flood disaster vulnerability. Exceptionally high rainfall intensity always causes flood disaster problems in Kampar Regency. This study aims to 1) formulate the level of flood vulnerability in Kampar Regency, Riau Province, 2) analyse the characteristics of land in Kampar Regency, Riau Province, 3) formulate flood disaster mitigation policy directions by the Kampar Regency Government, Riau Province. The method used in this study is quantitative, and it is a survey and spatial analysis. This study was conducted in Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Furthermore, in processing flood disaster mitigation policy directions, the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method is used to formulate appropriate priority directions to mitigate flood disasters. Based on the results of the study, the level of flood disaster vulnerability with analysis using the GFI method, there are four flood vulnerability zones in Kampar Regency, namely: a high flood vulnerability zone covering an area of 88,658.36 ha, a moderate flood vulnerability zone covering an area of 142,821 ha, a low flood vulnerability zone covering an area of 86,357.23 ha and a flood-free zone covering an area of 715,850.97 ha. Furthermore, based on data processing through expert choice software, the direction of flood disaster mitigation policies is determined to have 9 alternatives. With these alternatives, it is hoped that they can be formulated to reduce the risk of flood disasters in Kampar Regency.

Abstract

Urban Heat Island (UHI) is a phenomenon where the surface temperature in urban areas is higher than in the surrounding area or in open-air areas. Hilly city continues to increase every year. Because of that, it needed an effort at the city-level urban heat island on Batam Island. Through the Thermal Landsat 8 channel image recording May 24, 2018 sensing data can be used to complete the heat calculation of the urban heat Island on Batam Island. This research aims to determine the variation of Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect on land cover in the research area. This research uses LST and maximum likelihood multispectral classification for the land cover area and NDVI transformation. The results of the processing are obtained with an R2 value of 0.872324 with a UHI intensity of 0-8.06 ̊ C. This shows the amount needed by Urban Heat Cities in Batam Island specifically in urban areas such as Batu Ampar District, Batam Kota, Bengkong, Batu Aji, Lubuk Baja, Sagulung, and Sekupang

Abstract

Cross-border floods are not only cross-country and cross-province floods but also include cross-district/city floods. The flood that occurred in Sukoharjo Regency was a cross-border flood (cross-border flood) covering four upstream districts, namely Boyolali, Klaten, Wonogiri and Karangnanyar Regencies. The management needed concerning cross-border flooding is the handling of integrated cross-border synergies that enter the Watershed (DAS) with countermeasures, not only structural but non-structural, and involving all stakeholders. This study uses a combination of spatial science and critical human geography paradigms so that the appropriate research design is a mixed method, namely research with both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The critical human geography paradigm is also used here in conjunction with the political ecology approach in tracing the increased risk of flood disasters associated with an expanded urbanization process, an approach derived from production space theory. The results of this study show that the integration of disaster management between regions is very important, both upstream and downstream. Human activities in the upstream region greatly affect the downstream region

Abstract

Indonesia is located in the subduction zone of three world tectonic plates, so it is prone to several natural disasters, including the eruption of the Merapi Volcano in Magelang Regency. The main threats are hot clouds, volcanic dust, and floods of Lahar. SMK Negeri 1 Salam, as one of the schools in prone areas, needs to be prepared to face these threats, this study aimed to analyze the effect of the experience of Lahar disasters on the self-awareness of students at SMK Negeri 1 Salam, Magelang Regency. A quantitative approach with a correlational design was used in this study. The research sample was students of SMK Negeri 1 Salam as many as 310 students were selected using the Slovin formula. Data was collected through questionnaires consisting of the two main variables namely Lahar disaster experience and self-awareness. Data analysis using Pearson product-moment correlation test and prerequisite test. Disaster experience is evaluated through three indicators: direct experience, characteristics of the disaster, and preparedness to deal with it. The results showed significant experience, especially in understanding the characteristics of disasters, but the level of awareness of learners was in the moderate category. These findings highlight the need for more attention to understanding the actions needed in the event of a disaster. Thus, increasing awareness and preparedness of learners against disasters needs to be considered in the development of disaster education programs.

Abstract

Disaster education is an effort that is expected to increase preparedness and reduce the risk posed by a natural disaster. One area that has a high risk of landslides is the Karanganyar Regency. This study aims to analyze the urgency of disaster education and the role of Junior High schools in supporting disaster education in landslide-prone areas, Tawangmangu Subdistrict. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach using primary data obtained through questionnaires and interviews. The sampling technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique where the research samples were Social Science subject teachers at State Junior High School 01 of Tawangmangu, Junior High School of Amal Mulya Tawangmangu, and Junior High School of Penda Tawangmangu. The analytical technique used was descriptive statistical analysis. Based on the results, it can be concluded that schools were aware of the essence of disaster education. The Junior High Schools in Tawangmangu Subdistrict supports the urgency of disaster education, by realizing its role through several activities in schools that can increase the preparedness, capacity, and knowledge of students against potential hazards around their houses. With the existence of disaster education in schools, it is expected to be able to increase the capacity of students to reduce the risk posed by a landslide disaster.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of grade VII students during the exam were still relatively low because out of 35 students, 15 students scored above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) of 75 and 20 students scored below the Minimum Completion Criteria of KKM 75. The data proves that students' spatial thinking skills are still weak and can cause difficulties in interpreting maps in social studies geography learning. The ineffective use of computer laboratories and android-based mobile phones in the learning process is one of the causes. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of kinemaster-based audiovisual learning media in social studies geography learning at SMP Negeri 1 Kalitidu. The results showed that in the control class the average pre-test score was 43.43 while the average post-test score was 51.25, still lower than the experimental class. In the experimental class the average pre-test score was 45.62 while the average post-test score was 80.93 higher than the control class. The average posttest score for the experimental class > control class was 80.93 > 51.25, which means that the learning outcomes of the experimental class were higher than those of the control class. In the paired t-test, the results obtained were sig.2 tailed at 0.000 < 0.05 Kinemaster-based learning is more effective.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic brought challenges for education sector in the learning process. The problems faced in learning during the pandemic were the lack of use of ICT-based media by teachers. This study aims to produce Edmodo-based learning media of geography lesson on the topic of Indonesian cultural diversity. This development research applied ADDIE model that consist of five stages includes analysis stage, design stage, development stage, implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The results of the media development were validated by three experts namely media design expert, material expert, and geography teacher. The validation result from media design expert is very valid with score of 87.27%. Validation result from material expert is very valid with scored 80%, and validation from geography teacher is very valid with score of 88%. Media trials were carried out on students to collect student responses on the clarity of the material, appearance of the media, ease of understanding, and the use of language. The average student response to learning media gets 91.82%. Based on the research result, it can be concluded that the Edmodo-based learning media is suitable for learning process both offline and online learning.

Abstract

This research is based on the issue of the lack of teaching materials in the form of spatial thinking-based student worksheets to assist students' learning process. Another issue is that we have not yet implemented student worksheets based on spatial thinking in teaching. This research aims to develop spatial thinking-based student worksheets based on primary map knowledge material to make the learning process innovative and meet the demands of the independent curriculum, which was reviewed from the spatial thinking element for X Grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Randangan. This research uses the Steven J. McGriff version of the ADDIE development model (analysis, design, Development, implementation and evaluation). The research subjects are students from X Grade in Natural Science (IPA) 2 and Social Sciences (IPS) 2 classes. The data are collected through tests and questionnaires. The researcher uses effect size analysis to determine the learning effectiveness using the spatial thinking-based student worksheets based on basic map knowledge material. The study results show the student's responses to the spatial thinking-based student worksheet, which is suitable for use and interesting for students. The effectiveness of learning using the spatial thinking-based student worksheets get value of value 0,34 implies categorized as effective with a moderate classification level. This shows that spatial thinking-based student worksheets are declared effective in learning geography based on basic knowledge of maps.

Abstract

The city of Semarang is one of the cities on Java Island's north coast that experiences land subsidence. The rate of land subsidence varies across different areas. This research aims to analyse the relationship between students' knowledge about land subsidence phenomena and the location of schools experiencing (SMAN 14 Semarang) and not experiencing (SMAN 4 Semarang) land subsidence in Semarang City. The population for this study comprises all high school students at SMA Negeri 4 Semarang (1,179 students) and SMA Negeri 14 Semarang (958 students). Sampling was conducted using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error, yielding 306 respondents from SMA Negeri 4 Semarang and 300 from SMA Negeri 14 Semarang. The sampling technique employed was cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques included multiple-choice tests, followed by point-biserial correlation analysis. The results of this study indicate that students at both SMA Negeri 14 Semarang and SMA Negeri 4 Semarang demonstrate a high level of knowledge about land subsidence, and the analysis indicates no significant relationship between students’ knowledge and school location in areas with different subsidence conditions in Semarang. This highlights the effectiveness of geography instruction in conveying local environmental phenomena and underscores the importance of integrating contextual, place-based examples, such as land subsidence, into geography curricula.
