Abstract

Increasing population growth and limited residential land occur in most urban areas in Indonesia. The government has well-observed regional spatial planning (RTRW) and regulations, but there are often deviations, such as the emergence of informal settlements. This study seeks to clarify the background of the establishment of informal settlement through the production of space theory and identify how society shapes the rhythm of life in producing space. Data collection is carried out by observation, interview, participatory mapping, and temporal imagery. This research uses progressive regressive methods with the production of space theory perspective and rhythmanalysis. Rhythmanalysis is used to complement the exposition of the production of space theory. It is known that the settlement space began to be formed in 2004. Residents interpret the Gulon informal settlement location as a strategic and effective cheap livelihood location. This choice of place to live is further strengthened by the similarity of the community's economic conditions which are increasingly deteriorating, made worse by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This situation encourages interaction in the rhythm of people's lives so that the concept of residential space is formed. Polyrhythmics strengthen the phenomenon of space utilization.

Abstract

This study presents a natural laboratory model based on local wisdom to improve disaster literacy, drawing on the indigenous knowledge of Kampung Naga and Kampung Kuta in West Java, Indonesia. By integrating traditional disaster mitigation practices, such as Ngasuh Lembur and Sedekah Bumi, with modern tools like Geographic Information Systems (GIS), the research offers a culturally tailored disaster education framework. The model, tested by 120 Geography Education students at Universitas Siliwangi, demonstrated a 32% improvement in students' understanding of disaster risks. The synergy between cultural traditions and modern techniques fostered stronger engagement and deeper retention of disaster preparedness knowledge. Feedback highlighted the importance of balancing cultural authenticity with technological innovation, leading to refinements that enhanced both relevance and effectiveness. This study addresses a critical gap in disaster education by offering a sustainable, adaptable framework that bridges local wisdom and formal education, making it applicable across diverse cultural and environmental settings globally.

Abstract

The increase in population from migration coupled with natural growth resulted in a high population density in Yogyakarta City, with a negative impact of traffic congestion due to the number of vehicles that were not proportional to road capacity. One of the efforts to lessen congestion was through efficient public transportation. Trans Jogja can be one of the solutions to this problem. However, despite having up to 90 stops in Yogyakarta City, the existing stop locations are not evenly distributed. Thus, in order to propose appropriate bus stop locations, this study aimed to utilize the weighting and utilization of GIS, based on a number of factors usithe ng fuzzy logic method. The result showed that the weight of eh parameter also influenced locations with a high suitability. Values with a high match were pixel values ranging from 6.824 to 9.49. The location of high suitability was close to the road around the location with a high level of crowds, such as office areas, shopping centers, hotels, educational facilities, and tourism. This study proved that fuzzy logic could be used as a tool in spatial analysis to obtain criteria for a location by considering the probability of correctness of each selected parameter.

Abstract

This study aims to determine 1) The index of mangrove plant vegetation density, and 2) the state of the mangrove plants in the village of Bakau Kecil. Transforming the NDVI was the method employed in this study. The canopy density model can be applied using NDVI. The degree of vegetation canopy density was correlated with the intensity of greenness. The outcomes demonstrated that NDVI values ranged from -1 to 0.32, indicating sparse vegetation density, 0.33 to 0.42, indicating medium density values, and 0.43 to 1, indicating dense density values. One can categorize the condition of the mangrove vegetation based on the NDVI index value, which is shown above. Based on a vegetation index value of 0.43 - 1, which indicates very good health, mangrove vegetation can be considered to be in excellent condition. The mangrove vegetation is in good health (vegetation value 0.33-0.42, Moderate), and the vegetation is in poor health (vegetation value -1-0.32, Rare), according to the vegetation index. Mangrove health is very good, with a pixel area percentage of 68.88 percent; good health has a pixel area percentage of 23.98 percent; and poor health has a pixel area percentage of 7.14 percent.

Abstract

This article looks at the main problems faced in Indonesia regarding population programs, policies taken by the Indonesian Government and the achievement of SDGs in Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive study through literature study using journal and book sources as primary references. The results of the discussion show that Indonesia's natural resource potential is substantial in various fields, as is its population. The main problems were meeting needs within the development framework, issues of environmental damage, and the exponential increase in population, which would impact the next generation's survival. Various programs were launched to control potential environmental damage. Family planning programs, transmigration and education policies are used to anticipate this threat. Environmentally based policies are also not spared. Indonesia's SDGs achievements until 2022 show continued progress, as evidenced by the various awards received by the Indonesian Government for achieving the SDGs.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of naturalist intelligence of students in class XI of Santo Leo High School, West Jakarta. This research uses descriptive-qualitative method. The population and sample in this study used Simple Random Sampling with students in class XI IPS SMA Santo Leo West Jakarta as many as 32 people. the instrument used in this study is a questionnaire related to naturalist intelligence. The results showed that the naturalist intelligence of students in class XI IPS SMA Santo Leo West Jakarta was classified as a high category with a score of 3.89. As explained in detail the achievement of each indicator is Distinguishing members of a species gets a score of 4.10 with a high category, Recognizing the existence of species with a penchant for being in the open nature of the medium category (3.54), Mapping the relationship between several species, either formally or informally with a score of 4.00 (High category) and Researching natural symptoms with a score of 3.90 which is classified as high.

Abstract

Good agricultural development planning requires an accurate and real-time database. This is very important to see the development and level of welfare of farmers as the spearhead of food security. Sungai Kakap Sub-district, Kubu Raya Regency is one of the sub-districts with the number of Gapoktan (23), Poktan (284), the number of members (6305) with Field Agricultural Extension Workers (PPL) since 2019 totalling 9 civil servants and 14 people helping themselves. The number of PPLs is not proportional to the number of farmer group members, making supervision of agricultural activities difficult. The presentation of information in the form of Web GIS is expected to be a solution so that assistance, guidance, and counselling carried out by the government through the agriculture office can be right on target. The purpose of this research is to build a Web GIS-based Agricultural Information System in Sungai Kakap District so that it can be used as a model for agricultural monitoring activities in other areas. The engineering method in this research uses Remote Sensing and Waterfall methods. Remote Sensing is a method of building spatial data using aerial photo interpretation techniques, while Waterfall is used to build a web GIS as a place to display spatial data. The result of this research is Software Engineering in the form of a Web GIS-based Agricultural Information System Application. This Web GIS application can then be used as a tool to monitor the agricultural activities of each farmer group member in each farmer group.

Abstract

Administratively, Pulau Jemaja is located in the Kepulauan Anambas Regency, Riau Islands Province, which lies between 2°10'0" - 3°40'0" N and 105°15'0" - 106°45'0" E. This area is situated on the outermost border of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and possesses potential natural resources. The potential resources available in the Natuna Regency, especially on Pulau Jemaja, include coral reefs, mangroves, marine sediment/sand, petroleum, and fishery resources. The presence of these resources on Pulau Jemaja, coupled with its location on the national border, is crucial in determining the research location. This study utilizes two sets of secondary data: bathymetric data issued by Pushidrosal of the Indonesian Navy and BATNAS (National Bathymetric Mapping) data issued by BIG (Geospatial Information Agency). The aim of this research is to determine the morphology of the seabed in the Jemaja port area by comparing the bathymetric data from Pushidrosal and BATNAS (BIG) with a resolution of 6 arc-seconds. The method used in this research is GIS with the assistance of ArcGIS and Surfer software. Data analysis in this study employs descriptive analysis, utilizing comparison tables. Prior to analysis, data preprocessing was conducted to facilitate analysis. The results of this study indicate that the maximum depth in this area is -36 meters according to the data issued by Pushidrosal, while the data from BIG indicates a maximum depth of -40 meters. The seabed morphology around the waters of Jemaja falls within the Continental Shelf. The 3D modeling results show differences due to the varying spatial resolution between the two datasets.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of Android-based E-GeA learning media in improving the critical thinking skills of grade X students of SMA Negeri Kebakkramat, Karanganyar. The E-GeA application for Electronic Geography Adventure is designed to support geography learning through interactive features, such as learning videos, materials, animations, and pre-test and posttest-based exams. The study used an experimental and purposive sampling technique on 36 students in grades X-5. The data were analyzed using normality, n-gain, and t-test tests. The results showed that the t-test results showed a significant difference between the pre-test 30 and post-test 86 scores, with 94% of students achieving KKM scores. This study proves that E-GeA learning media improves students' critical thinking skills. These findings provide recommendations for integrating technology in geography learning to support improving the quality of education and skills in the 21st century.

Abstract

The impact of pandemic Covid-19 is requires all of humanity to carry out social distancing and maintain a distance. As a result of these restrictions, many sectors are affected. One of the most significantly affected sectors is the education sector. In the learning process in the education sector distance learning is applied with the Online system.This distance learning system has also been implemented at Sebelas Maret University Surakarta (UNS) since March 2020. This study aims to determine the perception of the online learning process of UNS students. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method using purposive sampling (active students who take part in learning at UNS). As for the results of this study, it can be seen that from a total of 13 questions in the online learning perception instrument, 62% of the total questions stated that students had difficulties in online learning and there were 38% of the total questions regarding the ease of online learning. So it can be said that the respondents found it difficult and experienced problems in carrying out online learning at UNS like difficult for me to understand the concept and didn’t have good internet access.
