Abstract

Learner behavior can be nurtured through both academic and non-academic activities at school. Educational activities may take the form of curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular programs. Religious activities in schools represent academic efforts through co-curricular and extracurricular channels. As educational institutions, schools must be capable of cultivating a generation that exhibits positive behavior, in alignment with the broader goal of fostering students with noble character. This study aims to explore the impact of extracurricular or non-academic activities on students' positive behavior. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through direct observation of extracurricular activities conducted by the school. The data were analyzed using Milles and Huberman's interactive technique. The findings indicate that religious extracurricular activities are well-structured and align with the intended objectives, taking place regularly on Fridays. These activities include Quran recitations, religious sermons, the chanting of shalawat, prayers for community welfare, and student participation in Islamic holiday commemorations to enhance their love for religion. Furthermore, five key positive behavioral outcomes were identified: i) responsibility, ii) tolerance, iii) cooperation, iv) creativity, and v) religiosity. The successful implementation of religious activities in Indonesian secondary schools offers a valuable model for other educational institutions aiming to foster positive student behavior

Abstract

Students' difficulty in reading the Quran with correct recitation is one of the main obstacles in learning Tajweed. The Qiraatul Bayyati method can serve as a solution to this issue by making it easier for students to remember and understand the rhythm of recitation. This study aims to analyze how the Qiraatul Bayyati method can improve student learning outcomes in Tajweed. This research employed classroom action research with a participant-observation approach. Data were collected from the Tajweed teacher and 18 students using observation and testing techniques. After data collection, the results were analyzed through descriptive statistical analysis, presented in tables and histogram graphs, while observation data were grouped based on planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection activities. The findings showed an increase in the average student score from 28% in the pre-cycle to 88.8% after the second cycle. This data demonstrates that the use of the Qiraatul Bayyati method in Tajweed classes creates a conducive learning environment, motivating students and preventing boredom in the learning process.

Learning methods are one of the determining factors in achieving student learning competency. With the right method, the competencies expected in learning become easier to achieve. This also applies to learning Islamic Religious Education in elementary schools. One effective method that can be used for learning the Quran and Hadith material is the Tikrar method. This research aims to analyze the effect of using the Tikrar method in improving elementary school students' ability to memorize the Quran. This research uses a Classroom Action Research design with two cycles, which was carried out in one elementary school in Indonesia. Research data was taken from teachers and nineteen students, with data collection techniques through observation and tests. Data were analyzed using SPSS 21 and qualitative descriptive analysis. The research results showed a significant increase in students' memorization competence, where the cumulative daily test scores increased from 45% to 94.74%. These findings prove that the Tikrar method is effective in improving students' memorization abilities in the Quran and Hadith subjects in elementary schools.

The data obtained were analyzed in three stages, (i) data were selected in accordance with the research objectives, (ii) presented in the form of narratives and tables, and (iii) concluded by linking the results of this study with previous research to obtain research findings. The results of the study found that the use of audio-visual media in learning Islamic Cultural History in Islamic Boarding Schools runs effectively and can increase student learning motivation in learning. The videos used are short in duration so that they do not exceed the scheduled learning time limit. The use of media is supported by learning facilities such as laptops, InFocus, and speakers, as well as the teacher's proficiency in operating them. The implications of using audio-visual media can arouse students' enthusiasm and motivation to learn Islamic Cultural History so that learning outcomes can be improved.
