Vox Populi: Jurnal Umum Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat adalah jurnal ilmiah yang berfokus pada hasil karya pengabdian kepada masyarakat dari berbagai disiplin ilmu. Jurnal ini memuat artikel yang menggambarkan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, yang bertujuan untuk mengelola dan menangani potensi, hambatan, tantangan, serta permasalahan yang ada di masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaporkan dalam jurnal ini juga melibatkan peran serta masyarakat dan mitra dalam perencanaan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan, dengan tujuan akhir untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Lingkup penulisan yang diterima oleh jurnal ini meliputi: 1. Pemberdayaan Masyarakat – Aktivitas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas masyarakat dalam berbagai sektor kehidupan. 2. Pengelolaan Potensi Masyarakat – Inisiatif yang berfokus pada pemanfaatan dan pengelolaan sumber daya lokal untuk kesejahteraan bersama. 3. Penyelesaian Permasalahan Sosial – Kegiatan yang bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengatasi masalah sosial yang ada di masyarakat. 4. Kolaborasi dan Kemitraan – Peran serta masyarakat dan mitra dalam menyukseskan program-program pengabdian. 5. Inovasi dan Solusi Terhadap Tantangan Masyarakat – Pengembangan dan penerapan solusi inovatif untuk tantangan yang dihadapi masyarakat. Jurnal ini menerima kontribusi dari berbagai bidang keilmuan atau karya Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat yang relevan. Artikel yang diterbitkan diharapkan dapat memberikan manfaat langsung bagi peningkatan kualitas hidup masyarakat melalui pengelolaan dan pemberdayaan sumber daya yang ada, serta mengatasi masalah-masalah yang muncul dalam kehidupan masyarakat.

Abstract

This community service aims to help the public become familiar with the rules of Law Number 11 of 2021 concerning Job Creation as well as introducing legal concepts in Law Number 11 of 2021 concerning Job Creation. The method used in this activity is in-depth discussion and a socio-cultural approach. The activity of Increasing the Role of Youth in Environmentaland Forestry Conservation in Kungkai Village, was achieved, attended by 33 people, by discussing the Job Creation Law, with the main discussion points of the benefits and objectives of the Law, scope, employment and mining with its initiation The omnibus law concept in the Job Creation Law in Indonesia is a reform regulation that is appropriate in its implementation and has a positive impact on the progress of the investment business climate for the realization of the welfare of the Indonesian people.

Abstract

This training was conducted to address the issue of mastering legal English vocabulary through the Quizlet application for students of the law study program at Merangin University, with the aim of enhancing their active participation and mastery of legal English vocabulary. It can be concluded that the training was successfully carried out as all participants followed each session with great enthusiasm. The implementation of this community service activity went well, in an orderly manner, and according to the schedule that had been set. The activity was considered successful in achieving the objectives, as evidenced by the achievement of success indicators set by the implementation team. The participants gained new knowledge and were able to practice what had been taught.

Abstract

This community service program aims to provide counseling to anticipate the negative impact of exposure to pornography on online media and its effects on adolescent behavior. The activity focuses on the millennial generation in Sungai Ulak Village, Merangin Regency, which is vulnerable to pornographic content due to easy digital access. The counseling was carried out by providing digital literacy and interactive communication methods to raise adolescents' awareness of the dangers of pornography. The results of the activity showed that many adolescents did not fully understand the negative impacts of pornography on their behavioral development. This counseling provided new insights and increased awareness of the importance of content selection on online media. In addition, the results of this activity are expected to serve as a reference in teaching Cyber Law courses. It is hoped that similar programs will continue to strengthen the younger generation's understanding of healthy digital literacy.

Abstract

The socialization of labor law based on Law No. 13 of 2003 is crucial in providing the public with an understanding of workers' rights and obligations. The rapid growth of the industrial sector has created vast job opportunities, leading many workers to migrate to industrial areas in search of better employment opportunities and fair wages. However, a lack of awareness regarding labor regulations often results in ignorance of fundamental rights such as minimum wages, social security, and termination of employment (PHK) policies. Therefore, STIH YPM conducted a labor law socialization program for the people of Sungai Ulak Village to educate them on labor regulations. The results indicated an increased awareness among participants regarding employment laws and the importance of understanding work contracts before entering industrial employment. Through this initiative, the community is expected to gain a deeper understanding of their rights and obligations as workers, helping them avoid potential exploitation in the workplace.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed the global education system, including in Indonesia, by requiring learning to be conducted online. STIH YPM organized socialization and training on online learning for students to enhance their understanding of online learning platforms, their advantages and disadvantages, and effective usage. This training aims to assist students in adapting to remote learning, ensuring they can continue attending lectures and academic seminars at both national and international levels. The results indicate that students gained better knowledge of various online learning platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom, and Edmodo. Furthermore, this program raised awareness about the importance of digital literacy in the academic field. With this training, students are expected to become more active and independent in utilizing technology as an effective learning tool, even beyond the pandemic.

Abstract

The advancement of information and communication technology has brought numerous benefits to society, particularly in facilitating access to information and communication. However, improper use of social media can lead to various negative impacts, such as the spread of hoaxes, defamation, and copyright infringement. This community service activity aims to provide an understanding to the Youtubers community in Sungai Ulak Village about the importance of using social media wisely in accordance with the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE). The method used includes legal socialization and counseling with a juridical-empirical approach. The results of this activity indicate that participants gained a better understanding of social media ethics, related legal regulations, and ways to avoid legal violations. Through this activity, it is expected that the Youtubers community in Sungai Ulak Village can create more educational, positive, and legally compliant content.

Abstract

Community empowerment through entrepreneurship based on local wisdom is a highly relevant approach to improving economic welfare at the village level. This article aims to explore the synergy between students of Merangin University and the potential of local wisdom in community empowerment. The study identifies various strategies for utilizing local wisdom, such as handicrafts, culinary products, and traditional goods, which can be developed into sustainable entrepreneurial ventures. In addition, the article discusses the importance of innovation in the development of local wisdom-based products and effective marketing strategies through digital platforms. The collaboration between universities, government, and communities, based on the Triple Helix concept, is seen as a key factor in accelerating the empowerment process and improving the local economy. This research uses a qualitative approach, with data collection through interviews, observations, and focus group discussions with the community and local entrepreneurs. The findings show that with proper innovation and collaboration, entrepreneurship based on local wisdom can have a positive impact on community economic empowerment.

Abstract

Child sexual abuse is a serious problem that can have a long-term impact on the psychological development of victims. This counseling aims to increase children's awareness and understanding of the dangers of sexual harassment and how to protect themselves. The activity was carried out at SD Negeri 03 Merangin Regency through an interactive socialization method with a story-telling approach, discussion, and educational games. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of body limitations, types of inappropriate touch, and steps to take if they experience harassment. This counseling is expected to be a preventive step in preventing cases of sexual harassment in the school environment.

Abstract

Counseling on elopement customary law to women in Sungai Piul, Bangko Hamlet Village aims to increase public understanding of marriage arrangements in customary law and its legal implications. Elopement, as a growing tradition in some communities, is often faced with legal challenges, both state and customary law. This counseling targeted women because they play an important role in disseminating information to their families and the surrounding community. This counseling program includes an explanation of the basis of customary law, social impacts, and how to solve elopement problems from the perspective of Islamic law and state law. With an approach based on interactive dialogue, participants are given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss, thereby creating a deeper understanding of the importance of respect for applicable laws. The results of this activity are expected to be able to contribute positively to increasing legal awareness among the local community and can reduce the potential for abuse of elopement traditions.

Abstract

The 2024 simultaneous elections are an important momentum in Indonesian democracy, involving all elements of society, including first-time voters. First-time voters in Merangin Regency tend to lack understanding of the stages and process of the election, which can lead to low political participation. For this reason, socialization was carried out through the distribution of pamphlets which aimed to provide a basic understanding of simultaneous elections, the stages involved, as well as the rights and obligations of voters. This approach focuses not only on providing information, but also on building a deeper political awareness, so that novice voters can understand how important their right to vote is. By increasing this understanding, it is hoped that novice voters will be more active in participating and voting wisely, so that they can make a positive contribution to the quality of elections and the future of the nation.
