Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of situational and social factors on customer decisions to choose Rahn (Sharia-compliant pawn) products at the Pegadaian Syariah Soebrantas Branch in Pekanbaru City, both partially and simultaneously. The study is motivated by the importance of understanding the factors influencing customer decisions regarding Sharia-based financing products, thereby providing insights for Pegadaian Syariah to enhance service quality and marketing strategies. A quantitative approach utilizing a survey method was employed. The study population consisted of 2,179 customers using Rahn products at the Pegadaian Syariah Soebrantas Branch in Pekanbaru City in 2026. A sample of 96 respondents was selected using the Slovin formula and the accidental sampling technique. Data were collected via questionnaires using a Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results indicate that situational factors have a positive and significant influence on customer decisions to choose Rahn products. Social factors also exert a positive and significant influence on customer decisions and represent a more dominant variable compared to situational factors. Simultaneously, situational and social factors have a positive and significant influence on customer decisions regarding the choice of Rahn products. These findings demonstrate that service environment conditions, service speed, reference group influence, and family support are key factors considered by customers when deciding to use Rahn products.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing use of social media among Generation Z, which makes digital media an important source of information about financial and investment products. This study aims to determine the partial and simultaneous effects of Influencer and Electronic Word of Mouth (E-WOM) on the investment interest of Generation Z in the Pegadaian Gold Savings product at Regional Office II Pekanbaru. A quantitative approach with a causal-associative design was employed. The population consisted of Generation Z in Pekanbaru City who use social media and are aware of the Pegadaian Gold Savings product. A total of 102 respondents were selected using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error and purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires using Google Forms and analyzed with SPSS version 25. The analysis included validity, reliability, classical assumption, multiple linear regression, t-test, F-test, and coefficient of determination tests. The results show that Influencer has a positive and significant effect on investment interest (t = 2.400; sig. = 0.018). E-WOM also has a positive and significant effect (t = 5.047; sig. = 0.000). Simultaneously, Influencer and E-WOM significantly affect investment interest (F = 68.669; sig. = 0.000). The R Square value of 0.581 indicates that the two independent variables explain 58.1% of the variation in investment interest, while the remaining 41.9% is explained by other factors outside the research model.

Abstract

The acceleration of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption in Indonesian government has created a new psychological phenomenon among local government HR practitioners in the form of AI anxiety, namely anxiety about the potential for automation that threatens their professional roles. This study aims to explore the phenomenological experience of AI anxiety, identify its forming factors, and discover patterns of coping strategies developed by HR practitioners in local government. Using a qualitative approach with Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), the study involved 12 informants from the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKPSDM) in three districts/cities in West Sulawesi. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal three superordinate themes: (1) "Threatened yet Bound" describing the dilemma between anxiety of losing professional relevance and attachment to bureaucratic comfort zones; (2) "Between Adaptation and Alienation" showing a spectrum of responses from proactive upskilling to passive resistance; and (3) "Seeking New Meaning" representing the process of reconstructing professional identity amid change. This study found that AI anxiety in local government has a unique characteristic of "security paradox," where guaranteed employment status actually inhibits the urgency of adaptation. These findings contribute to the development of Technology Threat Avoidance Theory by incorporating bureaucratic culture dimensions and offer policy recommendations for digital transformation that consider employees' psychological aspects.
