Abstract

This study uncovers the perceptions of university students of Lahore, Pakistan, regarding the reintegration of prisoners into society, a vital aspect of the criminal justice system that has received limited attention. As Pakistan is grappling with high recidivism rates and overcrowded prisons, understanding the attitudes of future leaders is essential for shaping effective rehabilitation strategies. A quantitative research approach was used, and the research surveyed 303 university students by random convenience sampling method from various disciplines using the Attitudes towards Prisoners (ATP) scale to assess their beliefs about prisoner reintegration into society in Lahore. Pearson correlation (one-tailed t-test) was applied to all the hypotheses. The findings indicate that university students of Lahore generally hold positive attitudes toward the reintegration of offenders, suggesting a potential shift towards more rehabilitative approaches in the criminal justice system. The study examines how demographic factors such as age, gender, academic major and religious beliefs influence these attitudes. Results show that older students and female students tend to be more sympathetic toward prisoners, while criminology students exhibit more critical views. This research highlights the importance of public attitudes in facilitating successful reintegration and addressing the stigma associated with incarceration. By identifying the factors that shape these perceptions, the study aims to inform policymakers and stakeholders about the potential for a more compassionate approach to prisoner reintegration in Pakistan. The outcome of the study highlights the need to foster positive societal attitudes to break the cycle of recidivism and enhance community safety, paving the way for a more just and rehabilitative criminal justice system in Pakistan.

Abstract

The quality of education that teachers impart decides the academic performance of students. This research article investigates how quality education teachers provide improves teaching ability and quality, benefiting intermediate-level students in District Sialkot. A structured questionnaire is administered to 200 students from public and private colleges. To estimate the influence of teachers' educational level, pedagogical skills, and professional development on student's academic outcomes, we used descriptive statistics research methods with statistical indices (on aggregated data) along with correlation study and regression analysis. In addition, students' success is highly correlated to each teacher's educational quality. Hence, during a time when there are increasingly stringent curriculum standards and new teaching methods that have just been introduced. Results from this study indicate that investments in improving teacher quality through direct targeted training programs lead to substantial gains at the intermediate level. The study has important implications for policymakers and educators looking to improve educational outcomes in the region. The research also suggests how long-term teacher efficacy develops the quality and professional development of students’ achievements. Furthermore, it is also important to highlight the role of investigating the performance of digital tools and resources to improve the quality of education, particularly in the light of emphasising the quality of education in the context of the academic landscape. These revelations may provide insightful directions for upcoming projects that try to enhance teaching methods for quality student outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to address the disconnect between academic programs in business education and the practical needs of the industry in Pakistan, advocating for a curriculum redesign that better aligns with industry demands. Using thematic analysis, the research identifies key themes that shed light on the nature of this gap and offers targeted recommendations. The analysis delves into various dimensions, such as perceptions of business studies and the observed industry gap, to explore how both sectors view the existing curriculum's effectiveness in preparing graduates for the workforce. The research also emphasizes the gap between theoretical knowledge imparted in academic settings and the practical skills demanded by employers. Key areas of focus include how cultural adaptability and adjustment issues influence graduates' transition from academia to the workplace and how curriculum content can be better tailored to meet industry expectations. By mapping out these themes, the study provides insights into ways of aligning academic knowledge with practical skills, proposing adjustments that might make the curriculum more responsive to real-world business practices. Additionally, the study discusses the need to enhance cultural adaptability among graduates to help them better integrate into diverse workplace environments. It also highlights the importance of aligning theoretical instruction with practical applications to close the gap between academic instruction and industry needs. The findings serve as a guide for curriculum planners, educators, and policymakers, offering actionable recommendations to improve the synergy between academia and industry, ultimately equipping graduates with the skills required for the business sector.

The study provides insights into a valuable dynamic of the role of transformational leadership on employees' innovative performance in colleges in Punjab, Pakistan. By applying quantitative data, the study emphasizes how transformational leadership influences innovative performance in educational settings. By applying the qualitative method, the study fills the critical gap in understanding how leadership and employee performance are connected. Using the hierarchical regression technique, the paper examines the role of transformational leadership in employees' innovative performance at the college level in Punjab, Pakistan. Data was gathered through a standard questionnaire from the faculty and administrative staff of public (N = 93) and private colleges (N = 107), and the data was analyzed using a quantitative approach. The survey items comprised in the survey were associated with transformational leadership, innovative performance, organizational support for innovation, job satisfaction and work environment. Results are based on self-administered questionnaires and were analyzed by correlation and regression methods, which reveals a significant positive relationship between transformational leadership and employees' innovative performance. The outcomes highlight the significance of visionary leadership in promoting a creative and innovative setting at educational institutes. The findings are further discussed in the context of theory and practice, which have implications for leadership development programs within higher education.

Academic performance is crucial as it not only reflects a student's understanding and mastery of the material but also influences future educational and career opportunities. This quasi-experimental study aimed to increase the academic performance of college students by handling their procrastination through cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). A sample of 40 female college students aged 18-25 years who scored high on the procrastination scale was recruited. Randomly categorized experimental and control groups with 20 participants in each provided data on procrastination and academic performance scales at three times; baseline (T1), after treatment (T2), and follow-up (T3). CBT was administered to the participants in eight sessions, one session weekly. The findings showed a significant difference in the levels of procrastination and academic performance of students between the scores of pre-, post, and follow-up testing of CBT. Findings revealed asignificant decrease in procrastinated behaviour from T1 to T3 and an increase in the academic performance of students after intervention from T1 to T3. The findings have implications for teachers and psychologists in handling the problem of procrastination in terms of the academic performance of students. Psychologists and counsellors should offer workshops on procrastination strategies, emphasizing the importance of early intervention to enhance academic outcomes.

Abstract

Based on the in-depth and systematic research of organizational-based self-esteem (OBSE) theoretical literature, this paper makes a sort of main research issues such as the connotation, measurement method, antecedents and results, and moderating effect of OBSE, to clarify the research status of organizationally based self-esteem (OBSE) theory. The study aimed to investigate the moderating role of organizational-based self-esteem OBSE between transformational leadership and creativity, as well as to investigate the effect of transformational leadership on creativity. A total of 172 employees took part in the survey, and 165 of those responses were legitimate for the exam. The findings indicate that organization-based self-esteem moderates the association between transformational leadership and creativity, as indicated by hierarchical regression analysis. The findings also demonstrate that transformational leadership significantly and favourably influences creativity. The study's findings emphasize the value of transformational leadership, creativity, and organizational-based self-esteem. According to the study, in order to retain employee efficiency, human resources management should develop practices that will increase trust and self-esteem based on organizational principles. It should also improve the relationship between the organization and its workforce in order to achieve a high level of creativity. The further research trend of the theory and the preliminary discussion on the management of organizational-based self-esteem (OBSE) of employees.

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance, with a focus on the mediating role of organizational commitment and the moderating role of Public Service Motivation (PSM) in this relationship. This study utilized a quantitative approach based on cross-sectional data. A total of 150 questionnaires were distributed, and 100 were returned. The responses were analyzed, and the results were inferred using SEM-PLS. The data collection spanned from June 2023 to September 2023. The findings indicate a positive and significant impact of transformational leadership on employee performance. However, the mediating effect of organizational commitment and the moderating effect of PSM on this relationship were both found to be non-significant. The findings offer practical insights into how transformational leadership, organizational commitment, and PSM influence performance, emphasizing the need to align employee goals with organizational objectives to enhance effectiveness and sustainability in public sector organizations. This research provides a foundation for refining management strategies in entities like Pakistan Railways, offering valuable guidance for improving organizational performance and informing policy development. The findings of the current study may help public sector management in Pakistan gain a better understanding of transformational leadership, organizational commitment, public service motivation, and their association with employee performance.The study's cross-sectional design and reliance on self-reported data are potential limitations. Future research could explore longitudinal designs or incorporate qualitative methods to gain deeper insights.

Abstract

Since excessive spending, trash talk, and consumer worry frequently result in undesirable effects including depression, social anxiety, and debt, it is imperative to understand their causes. The purpose of this research is to examine how excessive spending, trash talk, and customer anxiety are impacted by FOMO, harmonious brand passion, and obsessive brand passion. We gather information from 421 customers and analyse it using partial least squares. The study backs up the attachment theory and social comparison theory, which distinguish between obsessive and harmonious types of brand enthusiasm, with the latter being a bad thing. The results unequivocally support the connection between both forms of brand love and FOMO. Consumer anxiety, trash talk, and excessive spending are all more significantly predicted by obsessive passion. Additionally, the study reveals that the relationship between consumer anxiety, trash talking, and excessive spending and FOMO is mediated by harmonizing brand passion. We suggest marketing tactics that support consumers' FOMO-driven passions, promote and cultivate harmonious passion, cultivate compulsive passion in a more responsible way, and concentrate on brand-passion-driven marketing to consumers.

Abstract

Births are controlled by the Family Planning Program. Most women of childbearing age are at a loss to choose contraception. Many women not using contraception because of the lack of information about contraception that is right for them. This causes uncontrolled births and increases maternal morbidity and mortality. Based on preliminary studies in several journals, there are inconsistencies or differences in research results on the variables of between knowledge and age with the selection of long-acting reversible contraceptives. Analyzing the greater relationship between knowledge and age with the selection of long-acting reversible contraceptives.: Meta analysis by searching the Google Scholar and NCBI. After going through the identification and selection stage, 20 articles were included in the meta-analysis. Pooled Odds Ratio (pOR) is calculated using a fixed-effect model for data analysis according to the heterogeneity test using Review Manager 5.4.1. The pOR value for the knowledge variable is 1,76 (95% CI 1,31-2.37) with a mean effect size value of 0,4888 and for the age variable 1,15 (95% CI 0,088- 1,51) with a mean value effect size of 0,4056. The knowledge variable has a greater than a age variable.

Abstract

Organizations' reactions to unfavourable managers input are garnering more and more scholarly and public attention. Thus far, the majority of the work has been on the prosocial motivation of organisational leaders, their impact on helpful behaviour, and the negative feedback that creativity targets. This study, which has its roots in trait activation theory, investigates how and to what degree prosocial motivation, perceived social proximity, and affect-based trust influence organisational leaders' helpful conduct and constructive criticism directed at innovation. We test our hypotheses on a sample of packing organisation leaders using two waves of original survey data, including a conjoint experiment. Our research adds to the body of knowledge on organisational prosocial motivation, negative feedback, and helping behaviour.
