Results indicated that extraversion has a significant positive correlation with agreeableness, openness, conscientiousness, and gratitude and a significant negative correlation with neuroticism. Results also showed that openness has a significant correlation with conscientiousness and gratitude and a significant negative correlation with neuroticism. Also, conscientiousness has a significant correlation with gratitude and a non-significant negative correlation with neuroticism. Neuroticism has a significant negative correlation with gratitude. Multiple regression analysis was computed with personality types as predictor variables and gratitude as an outcome variable. Abstract

In Pakistan, women constitute about 67% of the agricultural labor force, engaged in agriculture and its sub-sectors to support their families. Because of the patriarchal society, women have been discriminated against in acquiring fundamental rights and decision-making in numerous aspects of life, including various farm and livestock-related activities. No or very limited studies have been conducted regarding women farmers' empowerment, especially in the Ghotki, Naushahro Feroz, and Badin districts of Sindh. Hence, this qualitative study was carried out in districts Ghotki, Naushahro Feroz, and Badin, Sindh to determine women farmers' perceptions about their empowerment regarding decision-making in agriculture activities. Thirty IDIs and nine FGDs were conducted through purposive sampling, and the collected data were analyzed through thematic analyses. This study reveals that women farmers perform various agricultural and livestock tasks for about 6 to 8 hours a day with their man folks. Illiteracy and poverty were the main reasons behind their engagement in the sector, and they worked as unpaid labour with their men. Women farmers have limited decision-making authority in various crop activities, the sale and purchase of agricultural goods, livestock, and its by-products, due to cultural constraints, they have no access to the agricultural market. This study suggests that education, professional training, and property ownership rights may be provided to women farmers to grow economically and be productive for future generations, society, and the country.

Abstract

Audience engagement has become a priority in the news industry. Journalists and news producers are adopting innovative ways of storytelling that can engage more and more audiences. For this, the producers and directors are using 360 VR technologies to boost audience engagement. However, there is scarce empirical evidence in underdeveloped countries on the relationship between 360 VR videos and audience engagement. Therefore, the study aimed to find out which element, including the sense of presence, enjoyment, and empathy, is more effective for audience engagement. For this experimental method was employed. Purposefully volunteers were recruited, and a 360 VR video taken from the website “The New York Times” named “The Displaced was shown to them. Their responses were collected on the pre-structured questionnaires. The findings showed that a sense of presence is very vital for audience engagement as the more audience “feel being there” in the 360 VR video, they will be engaged more similarly, the role of enjoyment and empathy is also very important in 360 VR videos. These three elements might be considered as the foundation of the 360 VR video industry. Therefore, the producers and the technology experts can get benefit from these results. It also contributes to the scarcity of 360 VR literature particularly. There is very limited empirical evidence on the relationship of sense of presence, enjoyment, and empathy with audience engagement in underdeveloped countries like Pakistan as this technology is in the very early stage.

Abstract

Religious diversity has become an important issue for organizations. Religious diversity brings many challenges for managers and HR policymakers. Organizations cannot overrule the chances of religious harassment. Pakistani organizations are highly diverse, with a workforce of various religious backgrounds. The objective of this study was to find out the role of hatred as an antecedent and perceived workplace exclusion as an outcome for religious harassment among employees of public and private sector organizations. Con- firmatory factor analysis was performed for validation of factor structure. Convenience sampling, a non-random sampling technique, was used for data collection, and the size of the sample was determined by G*Power (Hair et al., 2014). Using the SEM method, we tested our model's hypothesis with three hundred and ninety-eight employees. Results have shown expected associations between study constructs, such that hatred was found significantly correlated with religious harassment, and religious harassment was significantly correlated to workplace exclusion. In comparison, religious harassment mediated the relationship between hatred and workplace exclusion. Organizations need to address the issue by fabricating a religiously diverse culture with suitable policies and training. By proposing that the negative emotion landscape can trigger a range of socially undesirable outcomes, we tried to highlight the research that may benefit employers, and findings extend to understand context-specific concepts of perceived workplace exclusion. Religious harassment negatively influences employees and the workplace climate. It has severe repercussions for the repute of organizations.

Abstract

The focus of this study was to examine the influence of sociodemographic factors such as age, education, siblings’ number, family income, and family systems on the social development and self-esteem of the adolescents of a single parent or both parents and how the absence of both parents can influence these important aspects. It is a quantitative cross-sectional research design with the survey as a method. Adolescents from single and from both parents, male, and female (N=320), 160 from single-parent families, and 160 from two-parent families took part in the field survey on self-esteem. Heatherton and Polivy (1991) state self-esteem scales were used to collect data. Data were verified with SPSS version 21.0. A significant difference was visible in adolescents’ self-esteem with both parents compared to adolescents with a single parent. A weak correlation was found between age, education, and self-esteem. For siblings’ number, it was found that adolescents of intact families, were more statistically associated than adolescents with a single parent regarding the number of siblings. Outcomes confirm the approach of a strong family system to strengthen the functioning of intact families by emphasizing the joint and extended family connections that only contribute to boosting the spousal relationship, paternal and maternal grandparents, and grandchildren relationships. Clinicians and educators working with step families should promote positive, emotionally close step relationships and encourage strong marital bonds and trust in higher-order marriages.
