Abstract

Background. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects various organ systems in the body. This disease is characterized by an abnormal immune reaction, in which the body's immune system attacks the body's own tissues, resulting in inflammation and damage. Symptoms of lupus vary greatly, ranging from fatigue, joint pain, skin rashes, to serious complications such as kidney and heart damage. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is characterized by dysfunction of the immune system and is clinically heterogeneous, presenting with renal, dermatological, neuropsychiatric, and cardiovascular. Methods. The research method used was literature review using electronic databases through national and international journals such as Google scholar and ScienceDirect as well as health articles such as Cleveland Clinic. The inclusion criteria used by the authors were to limit articles or journals published in the last five years starting from 2019 to 2024. Disscusion. Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) classification criteria are often chosen based on tradition, consensus and statistics, without considering deeper etiological and pathogenetic aspects. This process can result in a lack of scientific objectivity, as it does not explore causal relationships between criteria and disease mechanisms. Conclusion. Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by aberrant immune system reactions, affecting various organs in the body. Genetic, environmental and hormonal factors contribute significantly to the development of this disease, which is more common in women of reproductive age.   Keywords: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), Autoimmune, Symptoms, Diagnosis

Abstract

Obesity is a condition where a person's body exceeds normal weight due to the accumulation of excess body fat tissue. Obesity is caused by the amount of energy released by the body being less than the amount of food ingested. Someone who is obese can easily be measured using BMI. A person who has a BMI > 25.0 can be said to be overweight or obese (Nandar et al., 2019) in the journal Annurullah 2021. This literature aims to review the literature regarding the relationship between obesity and individual lifestyle patterns using a comparison of the best methods. The method used in this journal is by taking samples obtained from the BMI value index and using qualitative statistical methods. The resulting review of journal literature shows that obesity has a significant negative effect on exercise, physical activity and diet. Meanwhile, obesity has a significant positive effect on anxiety levels. It can be concluded that obesity is an abnormal condition in fat that can cause more serious health problems. Understanding the relationship between obesity and the factors that cause it really needs to be studied in more depth. In this journal method, it can be concluded that obesity has a positive and significant effect on exercise, physical activity and healthy diet, which means that the higher the physical activity, exercise and healthy diet, the lower the level of obesity.

Abstract

Background. Dysmenorrhea for many women is a burden in their lives. The high prevalence of dysmenorrhea among adolescents often receives less attention from the medical world because many consider that this dysmenorrhea is a normal thing even though doing activities during menstrual pain that comes every month makes women affected by dysmenorrhea feel disadvantaged because they cannot carry out their activities properly as usual. Taking time off is an option that helps relieve women who suffer from dysmenorrhea so that they can rest. In addition, sufferers usually do hot compresses and aromatherapy to relieve the pain. However, dysmenorrhea itself has not been confirmed so the treatment is still being developed today. Method. The journals were used by selecting a topic, then determining keywords to search for journals in English and conducting searches using several websites such as Google Scholar, Elsevier, and Taylor and Francis. Discussion. Considering that the prevalence of dysmenorrhea is quite high, it is really affecting a good percentage of young females, university students, through their regular academic, social, and psychological activities. Several underlying factors are there that determine its intensity, including hormonal imbalance, psychologic issues, endometriosis and adenomyosis, female genital mutilation, etc., cultural, and religious practices aggravating the intensity of menstrual pain. Yet, despite its impact, access to healthcare for many women is impeded by either financial constraints, lack of awareness, or societal normalization of pain, as was shown in Korea, where the utilization of healthcare for dysmenorrhea is poor. Further, the condition has several long-term implications, including possible implications for brain health and heightened levels of stress associated with premenstrual syndrome. Effective treatments include Dienogest and uterine artery embolization, which have relieved symptoms and improved quality of life, thus indicating the need for greater awareness, better access to care, and comprehensive management strategies. Conclusion. Dysmenorrhea is a disease that affects physically and mentally because it is usually caused by the menstrual period in every woman. Therefore, it is necessary to provide physical and mental treatment due to dysmenorrhea.

Abstract

Background : Stroke is one of the common caused of death in the world. Lifestyle modification is to prevent the stroke occurred and to reduce the risk of new stroke events. Method: method used is a literature review through international journals. Discussion : This literature review shows that there is a poor correlation between increased knowledge about stroke and changes in lifestyle behavior. Modification of risk factors is very important for primary and secondary stroke prevention. Long-term lifestyle modification is difficult to maintain and require comprehensive and individualized intervention. Increasing the understanding of stroke risk will prevent a significant number of strokes before they lead to death and disability. In this way, two major strategies could be applied: the high-risk strategy and the mass (population-based)strategy. The high-risk one deals with individuals with a higher risk of developing stroke and includes lifestyle changes (i.e., reduced salt and alcohol intake, physical activity, weight loss, smoking cessation, etc.) and pharmacological interventions (i.e BP and lipid lowering agents, antiplatelet medications, etc.). Conclusion: Lifestyle modifications should address not single but multiple cardiovascular risk factors to effectively reduce the risk of stroke. Lifestyle modifications on a personal level should include adequate physical activity, a healthy diet, the cessation of smoking and alcohol consumption, and stress reduction. Physical activities should be performed in a healthy environment without air pollution.

Abstract

Background: Everyone has tonsils that can become problematic for some reason. Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils that occurs due to infection. Inflammation of the tonsils can cause discomfort and difficulty swallowing. These conditions cause disruption to daily activities. The incidence of tonsillitis in Indonesia is still quite high, especially in children aged 5-15 years. Tonsillitis itself is the second highest case in the ear nose and throat (ENT) field. Tonsillitis can occur due to several factors, one of which is closely related to diet and oral hygiene. This article is to determine the relationship between diet and oral hygiene on the incidence of tonsillitis in children. Methods: The method used was a literature review taken from several sources from 2019-2024. Database for this article such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and Science Direct. The search keywords we used were diet, hygiene, tonsillitis, and child. Discussion: The highest incidence of tonsillitis in children is due to the body's imperfect immune response. This is supported by children's low knowledge of unhealthy diets such as eating fast food and preservatives. In addition, oral hygiene also contributes to the risk of tonsillitis where children cannot maintain their own hygiene such as washing hands before eating and brushing teeth twice a day. Conclusion: There is an association between diet and oral hygiene to tonsillitis supported by the immune system that is still in the developmental stage in children.

Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is a health condition involving interrelated metabolic disorders, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes. This condition involves central obesity, high triglyceride levels, low HDL cholesterol, hypertension, and high blood sugar levels. The increasing prevalence of metabolic syndrome in Indonesia is mainly caused by lifestyle changes, including unhealthy eating patterns and low physical activity. This research aims to identify causal factors and prevent metabolic syndrome. Literature studies were used to analyze the epidemiology, risk factors, and prevention strategies for metabolic syndrome. Prevention of this syndrome requires a comprehensive approach, including healthy lifestyle changes, such as a balanced diet, physical activity, and stress management. Modern technology and public policies that support healthy lifestyles can also strengthen these prevention efforts. With proper prevention, the risk of chronic diseases related to metabolic syndrome can be reduced, as well as improving people's quality of life.
