Abstract

Abstract Storybooks have an important role in building children's character. Through story books, children observe how the characters in them are, especially the main character. Previous studies focused a lot on character. This research aims to describe good children in the main character of the Nona Series picture book by Dian Novitasari which consists of 6 books. These books are Halo, Aku Nona, Ayo Bantu Ibu dan Ayah, Saatnya Bermain, Tersesat di Pasar, Hiih, Nona Takut! and Serunya Naik Angkutan Umum. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques utilize document analysis. The results of the study indicate that there are 16 good child images in the book. These images include being cheerful, independent, brave, helpful, tidy, exploratory, respectful of others, honoring parents, obedient, and socialize, likes animals, likes traditional games, brave, admits mistakes and apologizes and has initiative. This research can be used as a reference for educators and writers to create inspirational texts and images for young children. Keywords: Image; Good Children; Picture Story Book Abstrak Buku cerita mempunyai peran penting dalam membangun karakter anak. Melalui buku cerita, anak mengamati bagaimana tokoh-tokoh yang ada di dalamnya, terutama tokoh utama. Penelitian-penelitian terdahulu banyak berfokus pada karakter. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan anak baik pada tokoh utama buku cerita bergambar Seri Nona karya Dian Novitasari yang terdiri dari 6 buku. Buku-buku tersebut antara lain berjudul Halo, Aku Nona, Ayo Bantu Ibu dan Ayah, Saatnya Bermain, Tersesat di Pasar, Hiih, Nona Takut! dan Serunya Naik Angkutan Umum. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 16 citra anak baik dalam buku tersebut. Citra ini mencakup bersikap ceria, mandiri, berani, suka menolong, rapi, eksploratif, menghargai orang lain, menghormati orang tua, patuh, bersosialisasi menyukai binatang, menyukai permainan tradisioanal, pemberani, mengakui kesalahan dan meminta maaf serta  memiliki inisiatif. Penelitian ini dapat dijadikan referensi bagi pendidik dan penulis untuk menciptakan teks dan gambar yang inspiratif bagi anak usia dini. Kata kunci: Citra; Anak yang Baik; Buku Cerita Bergambar

Abstract

Abstract The importance of developing cooperation and preserving local culture in early childhood is one of the focuses in early childhood education. One of the efforts made by TK ABA 54 Semarang is through angklung games, which are extracurricular activities that combine these two aspects. The problem raised in this study is the importance of developing social skills, especially cooperation, in early childhood, as well as efforts to preserve local culture in the context of early childhood education. This study aims to understand children's cooperation in preserving local culture through angklung games in Group B TK ABA 54 Semarang. This study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, involving 23 children aged 5-6 years as research subjects, as well as teachers as additional informants to gain a broader perspective. Data were collected through interviews, documentation and observation techniques. Data analysis was done descriptively by describing the findings. The results showed that angklung games can develop children's social skills, especially in terms of cooperation, as well as introduce and preserve local culture. The implications of this research are important for AUD education, as it shows the crucial role of educators in providing the right tools to develop children's social skills, as well as the importance of readiness of facilities and educators in carrying out learning activities that develop children's social skills. Keywords: Early Childhood; Cooperation & Preservation of Local Culture ; Angklung Games Abstrak Pentingnya mengembangkan kerjasama dan pelestarian budaya lokal pada anak usia dini menjadi salah satu fokus dalam pendidikan anak usia dini. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan oleh TK ABA 54 Semarang adalah melalui permainan angklung, yang merupakan ekstrakurikuler yang menggabungkan kedua aspek tersebut. Masalah yang diangkat dalam penelitian ini adalah pentingnya pengembangan keterampilan sosial, khususnya kerjasama, pada anak usia dini, serta upaya pelestarian budaya lokal dalam konteks pendidikan anak usia dini . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami kerjasama anak dalam pelestarian budaya lokal melalui permainan angklung di Kelompok B TK ABA 54 Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif, yang melibatkan 23 anak usia 5-6 tahun sebagai subjek penelitian, serta guru sebagai informan tambahan untuk memperoleh perspektif yang lebih luas. Data dikumpulkan melalui teknik wawancara, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dengan menggambarkan temuan yang ada. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa permainan angklung dapat mengembangkan keterampilan sosial anak, terutama dalam hal kerjasama, serta mengenalkan dan melestarikan budaya lokal. Implikasi penelitian ini penting bagi pendidikan AUD, karena menunjukkan peran krusial pendidik dalam menyediakan sarana yang tepat untuk mengembangkan keterampilan sosial anak, serta pentingnya kesiapan fasilitas dan tenaga pendidik dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang efektif. Abstract

Abstract The main issue in this research is the lack of understanding and deep habituation of essential character values. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the character of mutual cooperation in kindergarten students in Bandung City, Indonesia. The methodology of this research uses quantitative methods and quasi-experimental techniques. The research design adopted is the non-equivalent pretest-posttest Post-test Control Group Design. Data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire given to the students' parents. This questionnaire measures the components of mutual cooperation. A total of 26 respondents from School A and 18 respondents from School B participated in this study. The analysis results show that the character of mutual cooperation is already possessed by students in both schools. The average score for mutual cooperation is 1.77 (SD = 1.107) in School A and 1.50 (SD = 0.786) in School B. However, these values need to be improved. This research recommends the use of the traditional Papancakan game to strengthen the character of mutual cooperation. The integration of local cultural wisdom into the early childhood education curriculum is very important for the development of children's character. Keywords: Early Childhood Education; Kindergarten; Character Education; Mutual Cooperation Abstrak Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini tentang kurangnya pemahaman dan pembiasaan yang mendalam tentang nilai-nilai esensi karakter. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengevaluasi karakter gotong royong pada siswa TK di Kota Bandung, Indonesia. Metodologi penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan teknik kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian yang diadopsi adalah Non-equivalent Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner skala Likert yang diberikan kepada orang tua siswa.  Kuesioner ini mengukur komponen gotong royong. Sebanyak 26 responden dari Sekolah A dan 18 responden dari Sekolah B berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa karakter gotong royong sudah dimiliki oleh siswa di kedua sekolah. Skor rata-rata untuk gotong royong, skor rata-rata adalah 1.77 (SD = 1.107) di Sekolah A dan 1.50 (SD = 0.786) di Sekolah B. Namun, nilai-nilai tersebut perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan permainan tradisional Papancakan untuk memperkuat karakter gotong royong. Integrasi kearifan budaya lokal dalam kurikulum pendidikan anak usia dini sangat penting untuk perkembangan karakter anak. Abstract

Abstract The application of religious and moral aspects is important to be stimulated in early childhood, by using the PBL (Problem Based Learning) learning method. This study aims to analyze teacher strategies in stimulating the ability of religious and moral aspects in early childhood at TK TA Suwawal Timur 06. The research method uses the planning, socialization and implementation stages. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The place of this research was carried out at TK TA Suwawal Timur 06 in October 2024. The object of this research is about teacher strategies in building religious and moral values in children. From this study, it was obtained that the application of PBL by teachers at TK TA Suwawal Timur 06 applies a learning method by accustoming students to greetings, eating or drinking while sitting, and using polite words. The habit of praying, maintaining cleanliness is also part of this learning strategy. This study shows that consistent habituation and support from parents are effective in shaping the character and morals of early childhood. The implementation of PBL is an important model in religious and moral values education at TK TA Suwawal Timur 06.   Abstrak Penerapan aspek agama dan budi pekerti penting untuk distimulasi pada anak usia dini, dengan mwnggunakan metode belajar PBL (Problem Based Learning). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi guru dalam menstimulasi kemampuan aspek agama dan budi pekerti pada anak usia dini di TK TA Suwawal Timur 06. Metode penelitian menggunakaan tahap perencanaan, sosialisai dan pelaksanaan. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Tempat penelitian ini dilaksanakan di TK TA Suwawal Timur 06 pada Oktober 2024. Objek penelitian ini tentang strategi guru dalam membangun nilai agama dan budi pekerti pada anak. Dari penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa penerapan PBL oleh guru di TK TA Suwawal Timur 06 menerapkan metode pembelajaran dengan  membiasakan peserta didik dengan salam, makan atau minum sambil duduk, dan menggunakan kata-kata sopan. Pembiasaan berdoa, menjaga kebersihan juga menjadi bagian dari strategi pembelajaran ini. Penelitian ini  menunjukkan bahwa pembiasaan yang konsisten dan dukungan dari orang tua efektif dalam membentuk karakter dan budi pekerti anak usia dini. Penerapan PBL menjadi model penting dalam pendidikan nilai agama dan budi pekerti di TK TA Suwawal Timur 06. Kata kunci: Penerapan PBL; Aspek Agama; Aspek Budi Pekerti

Abstract Parent’s profile is important in early childhood development. The purposes this research were to analyze acorrelation 1) parents’ understanding with PjBL; 2) parents’ understanding with PjBL in view of parents’ age 3) parents’ expectation with PjBL; 4) parents’ expectation with PjBL in view of parents’ age; 5) parents’ understanding and expectation with PjBL; 6) parents’ understanding and expectation with PjBL in view of parents’ education status. Quantitative method used in this research.The results of this research: 1) There is a correlation between parents’ understanding with project based learning with value 0,531; 2) There is a correlation between parents’ understanding with project based learning in view of parents’ age with value 0,532; 3) There is a correlation between parents’ expectation with  PjBL with value 0,513; 4) There is a correlation between parents’ expectation with project based learning in view of parents’ age with value 0,510; 5) There is a correlation between parents’ understanding and expectation with PjBL with value 0,668; 6) There is a correlation between parents’ understanding and expectation with PjBL in view of parents’ education status with value 0,794. The conclusion of this research was profile influenced project based learning in kindergarten.   Abstrak Profil orang tua penting dalam perkembangan anak usia dini. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan 1) pemahaman dengan PjBL; 2) pemahaman dengan PjBL ditinjau dari usia orang tua; 3) harapan orang tuadengan PjBL; 4) harapan orang tua dengan PjBL ditinjau dari usia orang tua; 5) pemahaman dan harapan orang tua dengan PjBL; 6) pemahaman dan harapan orang PjBL ditinjau dari status pendidikan orang tua. Metode kuantitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini.asil penelitian ini antara lain:1) ) Terdapat hubungan antara pemahaman dengan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan nilai 0,531; 2) Terdapat hubungan antara pemahaman dengan pembelajaran berbasis proyek ditinjau dari usia orang tua dengan nilai 0,532; 3) Terdapat hubungan antara harapan orang tua dengan  pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan nilai 0,513; 4) Terdapat hubungan antara harapan orang tua terhadap pembelajaran berbasis proyek ditinjau dari usia orang tua dengan nilai 0,510; 5) Terdapat hubungan antara pemahaman dan harapan orang tua terhadap pembelajaran berbasis proyek dengan nilai 0,668; 6) Terdapat hubungan antara pemahaman dan harapan orang tua terhadap pembelajaran berbasis proyek ditinjau dari status pendidikan orang tua dengan nilai 0,794. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah profil orang tua mempengaruhi pemahaman dan harapan orang tua terhadap pembelajaran berbasis proyek di TK. Abstract

Abstract Through the character of discipline, children can learn the rules that exist in the family, school, and community environments. This study aims to analyze the application of the character value of discipline through the extracurricular activity of drum band at Semesta 3 Kindergarten B in Semarang. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The observation was carried out on 8 children, directly by observing the children's disciplined character through interactions between the teacher, the children and the trainer. Interviews were conducted with 1 drum band trainer and 4 classroom teachers. Interviews were conducted to find out how teachers discipline children. Documentation was carried out with notes, photos and videos. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman's data analysis techniques, namely data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing/verification. Triangulation of sources, techniques and time is used to verify the accuracy of the information. From the results of the study, the application of the character value of discipline through extracurricular activities such as drum bands was obtained, (1) Teachers make children get used to being on time, (2) Teachers make children get used to tidying up, (3) Teachers make children get used to lining up in front of the class, (4) Teachers make children take turns when taking drums, (5) The coach makes the children get used to performing drum band movements simultaneously or in unison, (6) The teacher makes the children get used to listening to directions. The researchers' advice is directed at schools to keep innovating and emphasizing character values in every extracurricular activity at school.   Abstrak Melalui karakter disiplin, anak dapat mengetahui aturan yang ada dilingkungan keluarga, sekolah, maupun masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penerapan nilai karakter disiplin melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drumband di TK-B Semesta 3 Semarang. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Observasi dilakukan pada 8 anak, dilakukan secara langsung dengan melihat karakter disiplin anak melalui interaksi antara guru, anak dan pelatih. Wawancara dilakukakan dengan 1 pelatih drumband dan 4 guru kelas. Wawancara dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana upaya guru dalam mendisiplikan anak. Dokumentasi dilakukan dengan catatan, foto serta video. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis data Miles dan Huberman yaitu data collection, data reduction, data display dan conclusion drawing/verification. Triangulasi sumber, teknik dan waktu digunakan untuk memverifikasi keakuratan informasi. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh penerapan nilai karakter disiplin melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drumband  seperti, (1) Guru membiasakan anak tepat waktu, (2) Guru membiasakan anak tidy up (3) Guru membiasakan anak baris di depan kelas, (4) Guru membiasakan anak bergiliran ketika mengambil drum, (5) Pelatih membiasakan anak melakukan gerakan drumband secara bersamaan atau serentak, (6) Guru membiasakan anak mendengarkan arahan. Saran peneliti ditujukan kepada sekolah agar tetap melakukan inovasi serta menekankan nilai-nilai karakter pada setiap kegiatan ekstrakulikuler disekolah. Abstract

Parents have a significant role in shaping their children's character from an early age through proper parenting. The parenting style applied by each parent varies greatly, adjusted to the conditions of the parents and also the needs of the child and is influenced by many other factors. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the parenting patterns applied by parents in shaping certain characters in early childhood. This research uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data searches were conducted using the google scholar electronic database. Then analyzed descriptively by setting inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the results of the study, 3 forms of parenting were obtained, namely democratic, authoritarian, and permissive in shaping character in children. Parents can combine these forms of parenting according to the situation, conditions and the right portion. The character values that can be formed through the combination of parenting are tolerance, independence, polite, religious, respectful, disciplined, caring, adaptable, honest, responsible, confident, hard work, friendly, open attitude, simple, brave, fair, patient, and leadership. From the results of this study, it is hoped that parents can be wiser in applying parenting patterns for their children and not only focus on one parenting pattern that is considered the best.

Abstract

Science literacy in early childhood is an essential competency that must be cultivated from an early age to address the challenges of the 21st century. This article aims to answer key questions regarding the concept of science literacy in early childhood. The study employs a Literature Review method, analyzing 30 relevant scholarly articles published within the last decade. The findings indicate that science literacy in early childhood encompasses the ability to understand basic scientific concepts, think critically, and apply this knowledge in daily life. Effective strategies for developing science literacy include storytelling with fiction and non-fiction books, simple experiments, observation, and the use of interactive media supported by technology. Furthermore, science literacy is influenced by several supporting factors, such as the active role of teachers, the integration of technology in learning, and a conducive learning environment for exploration. This article concludes that fostering optimal science literacy in early childhood not only enhances scientific thinking skills but also prepares children to navigate the advancements in science and technology in the future.

Early reading and writing skills, or known as early literacy, is crucial for supporting successful reading and writing during school age. Early literacy is closely related to home literacy, as the two influence each other. However, early reading skills remains low in Indonesia. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine how home literacy affects the early reading skills of preschool children., both with or without controlling for parental age, occupation, and education. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method using a multiple regression model approach. The samples in this study consist of preschool children and their parents from Little Bee Moslem Kindergarten and Al Kayyisah Kindergarten. Sampling was determined using multistage random sampling. The results of this study show that, with or without controlling for parents' age, parents' occupation, and parents' education, home literacy affects preschool children's early reading skills. All effects were equally influential, except for the impact of constraints on reading with children and the parents' occupation.

Abstract

Based on preliminary observations at Juwana District Kindergarten, most of the learning process still focuses a lot on students' cognitive abilities so that students' independence and creativity are less developed. This study aims to determine the effect of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum on students' independence and creativity in kindergartens in Juwana District. This research is qualitative research. Research data were obtained through observations and interviews with principals, teachers, and parents of students. The results showed that the Merdeka curriculum has been implemented in Juwana District Kindergarten with a learning process tailored to the needs of students, creativity, and innovation in accordance with the objectives of the independent curriculum in accordance with applicable regulations. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Juwana District Kindergarten and the role of parents at home greatly help the development of early childhood independence so that the level of independence and creativity of students is mostly in the developing as expected category. These results indicate that the implementation of the independent curriculum has an effect on the development of students' independence and creativity in kindergartens in Juwana District.
