Abstract

The research aims at obtaining information and empirical data of independence of 5 -6 years old children in the community of garbage collectors TPST Sumur Batu, Bantar Gebang, Bekasi. Using qualitative method, the research was conducted in May and June 2015. The data was collected by observation, interview and document study to analyzed employing Miles and Huberman technique. Data was verified by prolonging observation and triangulation. Research findings showed that self-reliance of 5-6 years old children in the garbage collector community is built by the role and attitude of their parents and the environment. The research conclusion indicates independent children are not built by themselves. The parents should assist the children as early as possible to enable them to do their activities without depend themselves on their parents.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to obtain empirical information on improving intrapersonal intelligence and interpersonal intelligence with project approach instruction particularly for Kindergarten children of B group. The research was conducted at Taman Tumbuh Kembang Anak Ceria, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, Jakarta, as from November 2008 through February 2009, employing action research method in two cycles. After comparing and analyzing the results of cycles I and II, the research concluded there is significant improvement of intrapersonal intelligence and interpersonal intelligence with project approach instruction, achieved by the kindergarten children in TTKA Ceria.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the case of the self-help skills in the orphanage children aged 4-5 years old. The study took place at Yayasan Arrohmaniyah Panti Asuhan Yatim Piatu Anni’mah, Cakung, East Jakarta. The method used in this research is a case study. Data collection techniques used was observation, interview, and documentation. In the data analysis, this study using Miles and Huberman. Activities undertaken in the analysis of data such as data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing / verification. Orphanage children who are in the age range 4-5 years to be subjects in this study. In the observations made during the study obtained data is that children aged 4-5 years living in orphanages have had self-help skills. Self-help skills possessed these children appear in fulfilling the needs and tasks that can be done without the intervention of an adult. Field data indicate that the opportunity to do the task and given caregiver needs. Attempts are made in the process of growing self-help skills provided caregivers on Yayasan Arrohmaniyah Panti Asuhan Yatim Piatu Anni’mah.

Abstract

Discovery learning is a learning process aimed at uncovering new knowledge through teaching and learning activities. This study investigates the effect of discovery learning in mathematics on computational thinking, considering students' self-regulated learning levels. Employing a quantitative approach with an experimental method, specifically the Posttest-Only Control Group Design, the research sampled VB class students as the experimental group and VC class students as the control group. Data were collected through computational thinking tests, focusing on decomposition, abstraction, algorithm design, and pattern recognition, and analyzed using a two-way ANOVA with a treatment by level 2 x 2 design. The findings reveal: (1) Computational thinking of students exposed to discovery learning differs from those taught with a scientific approach, (2) There is an interaction effect between learning models and self-regulated learning on computational thinking, (3) Students with high self-regulated learning exhibit higher computational thinking in mathematics through discovery learning compared to those taught with a scientific approach, (4) No significant difference exists in computational thinking outcomes between students with low self-regulated learning regardless of the teaching method. Consequently, discovery learning, combined with high self-regulated learning, leads to better computational thinking outcomes in mathematics.

Abstract

Keterampilan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang penting dikembangkan pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan aplikasi permainan imajinasi berbasis Scratch Jr untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak usia 5-6 tahun. Aplikasi ini dirancang untuk mengintegrasikan elemen-elemen permainan imajinatif yang dapat merangsang kreativitas dan pemecahan masalah pada anak. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan pendekatan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi permainan imajinasi ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis anak. Uji coba dilakukan di tiga taman kanak-kanak dengan melibatkan 20 anak sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, catatan lapangan, dan penilaian keterampilan berpikir kritis sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Analisis data menggunakan uji t menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan berpikir kritis anak setelah menggunakan aplikasi. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa aplikasi permainan imajinasi berbasis Scratch Jr dapat menjadi alat yang efektif untuk menstimulasi keterampilan berpikir kritis anak usia dini.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the social behavior of children during the transition from home to school environments. The study utilizes a literature review method encompassing the ELSEVIER, Sage Journals, ResearchGate, and Taylor & Francis databases. It examines various literature on children's social behavior during the transition period, the role of parents, and the role of teachers during the transition from home to school. The findings of this review are contextualized within the broader framework of early childhood social behavior. The research findings indicate that while a number of studies have investigated children's social behavior during the transition period, there is still a lack of comprehensive empirical understanding. This study highlights the need for further research that focuses on a comprehensive understanding of children's social behavior during this transition period to support optimal social and academic development in children. Furthermore, this study also emphasizes the importance of intervention strategies that can help children navigate environmental changes more effectively.

Abstract

Anak yang memiliki kesadaran lingkungan memahami bahwa dirinya adalah bagian dari ekologi yang hidup bersama-sama dengan makhluk hidup lainnya. Membangun kesadaran lingkungan perlu dilakukan sedini mungkin. Namun satuan-satuan PAUD di Indonesia masih belum sepenuhnya memfasilitasi urgensi akan pembentukan kesadaran lingkungan pada anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji mengenai konsep serta upaya-upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk membangun kesadaran lingkungan pada anak usia dini. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode studi literatur terhadap penelitian-penelitian terdahulu yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa urgensi membangun kesadaran lingkungan bukan hanya menjadi fokus dalam lingkup PAUD di Indonesia, namun sudah sejak lama menjadi fokus dari pendidikan dunia. Kesadaran lingkungan merupakan konstruksi dari tiga dimensi yaitu pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku. Adapun upaya-upaya yang dapat diterapkan oleh satuan-satuan PAUD untuk membangun kesadaran lingkungan pada anak, yaitu melalui bermain playworld, pendekatan STEM, kegiatan green school, hingga penggunaan media pembelajaran dalam bentuk buku bacaan, seperti misalnya buku komik.

Abstract

The outreach program on imaginative play education has been conducted since 2022 and followed up in the Thousand Islands with the aim of improving the quality of early childhood educators (PAUD). The Thousand Islands, as an area of DKI Jakarta with limited access, was chosen as the location for the outreach to equalize the quality of educators. The approach to imaginative play using the STEM method was introduced through outreach, group discussions, and practice sessions. This outreach involved 15 teachers from the islands with the largest populations in the Thousand Islands, namely Pulau Panggang and Pulau Pramuka. Based on the activities, it was evident that the development of learning that includes STEM content is still not fully understood and implemented. The implementation of learning based on imaginative play also remains unfamiliar to teachers. The involvement of teachers in imaginative play activities is still a novel concept, as teachers tend to have the understanding that they must dominate play activities.

Abstract

Kemajuan teknologi memberikan dampak terhadap siswa dan guru dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar berlangsung. Kondisi ini menjadi tantangan bagi guru untuk dapat melakukan edukasi kepada siswa terkait penggunaan teknologi yang bijak dan beretika. Pendidikan Pancasila dan Kewarganegaraan (PPKn) merupakan mata pelajaran yang memiliki kredibilitas dan peranan strategis dalam menginternalisasikan nilai-nilai norma dan etika menggunakan teknologi. Dalam mendukung misi mata pelajaran PPKn ditengah aktivitas penggunaan teknologi yang meningkat, intenalisasi nilai-nilai norma tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan membangun kesadaran berkonsitusi siswa sebagai warga digital. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk membangun kesadaran berkonstitusi melalui pelatihan digital citizenship. Pelatihan ini bekerjasama dengan 50 guru PPKn di Sekolah Menengah Pertama di DKI Jakarta. Sebelum melakukan pelatihan, 71% guru PPKn belum memahami sembilan elemen digital citizenship. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan digital citizenship, 100% guru memahami kesembilan elemen tersebut. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru dapat membangun kesadaran berkonstitusi menggunakan elemen digital citizenship yang mengarahkan siswa terhadap pelanggaran di era digital. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pelatihan digital citizenship menjadi alternatif strategi meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam memperkuat pofil pelajar Pancasila sebagai warga digital yang memiliki kesadaran berkonstitusi. Implikasi dari pengabdian ini adalah diharapkan guru dapat melakukan edukasi kepada siswa terkait pentingnya mematuhi norma dan aturan dalam menggunakan media digital. Sehingga, siswa memiliki kesadaran berkonstitusi, etika digital serta menghindari hoaxs dan melanggar peraturan dalam berinteraksi di dunia digital.
