Abstract

As a product of the creative process, song lines or lyrics are also forms of poetry containing aesthetical and ethical values. Song lyrics and poetry are like two sides of the coin, intertwined. Classical Minang song lyrics as a cultural product of traditional Minang people are objects that contain moral messages and life values. The cultural values contained in the song texts come from the experiences and life realities of the people. This research aims to reveal the meaning and cultural values contained in classical Minang songs. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a literary sociology approach/theory. The research results show that cultural values in the Minang song texts align with the life attitudes of the Minang people. The cultural values of the Sumbang duo Baleh in the song “Si Nona” composed by Syamsul Arifin and the song “Lamang Tapai” composed by Nuskan Syarif are the traditional songs providing advice for Minang young women in maintaining their positive self-esteem. The classical Minang songs can be used as a means to preserve cultural values in developing the morals of future generations. By understanding the texts of Minang regional songs, they will appreciate and maintain various elements of their ancestral culture, as a reflection of the identity of the Minang people and elements of national culture.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of the role of parents, especially the role of the father which cannot be ignored. This study aims to see parental mediation given by fathers and mothers to children when using gadgets. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study research design. Data collection uses in-depth interviews and field notes involving three parents who have children aged 2-5 years in Harjamukti, Cirebon City which were analysed using grounded theory. The results of this study indicate that parents discuss, search, choose, and explain content that can be accessed in active mediation. Then, in the restriction mediation, parents provide restrictions on time, content, application, and distance. Co-viewing mediation is a way to increase closeness with the children and avoid excessive use of gadgets. Thus, parents collaborate on active mediation, restriction mediation, and co-viewing mediation to regulate and manage their children's use of gadgets.

Abstract

Curriculum is a tool for achieving educational goals. Changes to a curriculum cannot be avoided. The prototype is a new curriculum issued by the government for the improvement of learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A lack of understanding of the benefits of traditional games makes the researchers explore how to develop a prototype curriculum based on local wisdom and physical motor skills through the use of traditional skipping rope games in early childhood. Thus, this reason becomes an essential aim of this research. This study uses a qualitative approach, and the research method used is Design-Based Research (DBR). Research instruments are researchers and participants. The steps involved in data analysis in this study are data reduction (organizing data), data display (making detailed descriptions), and conclusion drawing/verification (interpretation and conclusion). The expected result of this study is that it can assist the curriculum development process through the traditional game activity of skipping rope.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the teacher’s strategy in developing children’s creativity through the use of natural materials in making collages in class B1 TK Cendekia Tungkop Aceh Besar. This study used a qualitative approach with phenomenological research. The subjects of the study were 2 class B teachers and 1 principal. The data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and was analyzed by using data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results revealed that the teachers used the central learning model with demonstration and response to questions methods in developing children’s creativity through the use of natural materials in making collages from coconut dregs. The teachers planned two activities and switched on once the first one was completed. The teachers presented colour symbols on the worksheet to help students remember and classify the colours when creating collages. The teachers explained, provided examples of how to stick, gave direction, supported, approached, and directed the students until they were able to complete the project. The teacher went around controlling the children’s progress by asking questions to ensure that the children understood the colours and how to make collages. Once the activity was finished, the teacher asked the children the same questions again. When the children remained silent and did not respond to the question, the teacher asked the questions one by one so that the children could respond to the teacher's questions.
