Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of character education focused on discipline and responsibility in Qur’anic educational institutions, as well as the factors influencing its success. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a field study design, while data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving teachers, students, and institution administrators. The findings indicate that the value of discipline is implemented through habituation practices such as punctual attendance, neat dressing, adherence to rules, and orderly completion of tasks. Meanwhile, the value of responsibility is manifested through active participation in learning activities, concern for the environment, and the fulfillment of entrusted duties. The character-building process is carried out through exemplary behavior, habituation, and continuous supervision by teachers. The supporting factors of character implementation consist of internal factors namely students’ motivation and self-awareness and external factors, including the role of teachers, family support, and the learning environment. These findings affirm that character education based on Islamic values plays a vital role in shaping a Qur’anic generation that is virtuous, disciplined, and responsible.nd policymakers in developing a more effective curriculum.

Abstract

The Psychological Principle is one of the foundational principles underpinning the implementation of Islamic education. This implies that the execution of education must be based on the developmental stages of the child. In this context, the intellect (reason) as one of the psychological components of human beings is a fundamental element that must be optimized within Islamic education. Although numerous books have discussed the human intellect, very few have explored it from the perspective of its developmental stages. Therefore, an in-depth and comprehensive study of each phase of intellectual development is necessary, so that the formulation of Islamic education can be designed appropriately and contextually. This study employs library research with a qualitative approach. The findings reveal, first, that each phase of human brain development possesses its own characteristics and uniqueness. Second, the research identifies various aspects of Islamic education that align with intellectual development, such as the selection of religious learning materials, instructional approaches, and relevant Islamic educational methods and techniques for each stage of intellectual growth.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has significantly changed the way people access and interpret information. The abundance of digital information is not always accompanied by accuracy, potentially leading to misunderstandings. This study aims to analyze the role of media literacy in fostering social awareness regarding funeral practices in the digital era. This research used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method and was conducted in Ampangan District, Payukumbuh. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with informants, participant observation, and documentation of digital content. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that media literacy enhances individuals' ability to critically evaluate information, strengthens social participation, and reinforces collective responsibility in cemetery management. However, challenges such as misinformation, reduced in-person social interaction, and the commercialization of funeral services remain significant. This study highlights the importance of integrating media literacy into community education and involving religious leaders in disseminating accurate information. These findings contribute to the development of socio-religious communication studies and offer practical implications for strengthening community-based media literacy programs.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought significant changes to the world of education, including at the elementary school level. This study aims to describe and understand in-depth teachers' responses to the implementation of AI in the learning process in elementary schools, including their perceptions, experiences, challenges, and opportunities in utilizing AI technology. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, focusing on the subjective experiences of teachers as the main actors in the implementation of AI-based learning. The research subjects consisted of elementary school teachers who have used or are familiar with AI technology in learning activities. Data collection techniques were carried out through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion to obtain the essential meaning of the teachers' experiences. The results show that most teachers responded positively to the implementation of Artificial Intelligence because it is considered to increase learning efficiency, help personalize materials, and foster student interest and motivation in learning. However, this study also found obstacles such as limited digital competence of teachers, lack of specialized training, and concerns about technological dependency and the ethical aspects of AI use in early childhood learners. The implications of this research indicate the need for policy support, improving teachers' digital literacy, and developing ethical and pedagogical guidelines for implementing AI in elementary schools to ensure its optimal use and alignment with educational goals.

Abstract

The use of deep learning methods in Social Studies has become a growing approach in elementary schools because it is considered capable of helping students understand concepts more deeply. This study aims to analyze the effect of using deep learning methods on improving students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills in Social Studies learning. The study used a mixed methods approach, combining quantitative data through learning achievement tests and qualitative data through observation and interviews. The study sample consisted of 60 students from two classes selected using a cluster sampling technique, while qualitative data were obtained from subject teachers and students involved. Quantitative analysis was conducted using a difference test to observe changes in learning outcomes, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically to describe the process of implementing the method. The results showed that the use of deep learning had a positive effect on improving conceptual understanding and students' ability to relate Social Studies material to real situations. Students appeared more active in providing arguments, processing information, and solving problems. Learning became more focused because the teacher facilitated analysis, in-depth discussions, and reflection. This study has implications that the deep learning method can be applied as an alternative strategy in Social Studies learning in elementary schools to improve the quality of the learning process and outcomes. These findings can form the basis for further research in developing more innovative Social Studies learning designs oriented towards deep understanding.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the information ecosystem, increasing both access to information and vulnerability to disinformation, particularly within educational environments where students often have limited digital literacy skills. This study aims to analyze the dynamics and impacts of disinformation through a case study at Vocational High School 1, Solok City. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis with triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal that disinformation regarding study tour fees, disseminated by a student, resulted in the cancellation of the activity, financial losses, erosion of trust in the school institution, and psychological impacts on students. These results highlight the significant vulnerability of school communities to disinformation, especially in contexts characterized by strong interpersonal trust and limited verification practices. The study emphasizes the importance of strengthening digital literacy through curriculum integration, school literacy programs, and the role of libraries, alongside the need for effective regulatory frameworks and the accountability of Electronic System Providers (ESPs). Ultimately, addressing disinformation requires a multi-stakeholder approach involving government, educational institutions, civil society, and digital platforms to build sustainable societal resilience in the digital era.
