Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of teacher teaching style on students' learning motivation. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive. The research sample was taken as much as 77% of the total number of students at SMAN 1 Cibal in the 2022/2023 academic year, resulting in a total of 31 students as respondents. The results of the data analysis show that there is a significant influence between teacher teaching style and student learning motivation. For example, when the teacher is giving lessons, some students lose concentration to listen to the material and show disinterest in learning. This study is expected to provide an understanding to teachers so that they can develop a teaching style that can motivate students positively, so that students are more enthusiastic and actively participate in learning activities.

Abstract

The internship program is one of the integrative components of the overall education program for catechist candidates and prospective Catholic religious teachers at STKIP Widya Yuwana. This program provides students with new experiences related to the working world they will face. Through the internship program, students are able to develop their personality. Two supporting factors in the development of students' personality are the internship and community service, which reflect the learning process as well as job opportunities in real-world situations. The issues addressed in this research are: What is an internship program? What is personality development? What is the relevance of the internship program to personality development according to STKIP Widya Yuwana students? Based on these issues, the aim of this study is to determine how far STKIP Widya Yuwana students are able to develop their personalities through internship programs. Respondents for this study were selected using a random sampling approach. The results of the study indicate that students understand the internship program and are able to develop their personalities, as seen from the data obtained.

Abstract

Although the Church suggests receiving the Sacrament of Penance at least once a year, it is not uncommon for people to reluctantly accept this sacrament due to various reasons, such as the distance from their homes to the church or living in rural areas. Based on these issues, the research question can be formulated as follows: How do the people of Stasi St. Joseph Ngrejo of St. Immaculata Mary Parish Kepanjen Malang understand the Sacrament of Penance? This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the parishioners' knowledge of the sacrament. The study uses a qualitative approach, with interviews as the data collection method. Ten respondents, selected through purposive sampling, were active church members who did not hold any official positions, but were stewards or activists of the church. The research was conducted at the Stasi St. Joseph Ngrejo of St. Immaculata Mary Parish Kepanjen Malang. The findings indicate that most of the people already have an understanding of the Sacrament of Penance, which is also known by another name.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of STKIP Widya Yuwana students regarding the relationship between the application of contextual learning methods and their learning achievement index (GPA). The research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational descriptive design, involving a sample of students as respondents. Data will be collected through surveys or questionnaires to measure students' perceptions of the contextual learning method and their academic performance. The study will explore how students perceive the impact of contextual learning on their GPA, identifying factors that contribute to the effectiveness of this teaching method in improving academic success. The findings are expected to provide valuable insights for educators on how to optimize teaching methods to improve student achievement, thereby contributing to the development of more effective pedagogical strategies in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the extent of parents' awareness of their duties and responsibilities as the primary educators in their children's faith life after receiving the Sacrament of Baptism, as well as the challenges they face in fulfilling this role. This research employs a qualitative approach through interviews with 10 married couples who are members of the community at St. Maria Assumpta Church in Caruban. The findings indicate that parents play a crucial role in their children's faith education after receiving the Sacrament of Baptism. Parents who actively guide, set an example of Christian living, and engage in church activities have a significant impact on their children's faith development. However, several challenges arise, including parents' busy schedules, a lack of understanding of their religious responsibilities, and the influence of a social environment that does not always support Christian values. Therefore, support from the church community and the surrounding environment is essential to help parents fulfill their role optimally.

Abstract

This study examines how married couples facing distance and time-related challenges can maintain and develop harmony by utilizing social media. The study highlights the communication issues these couples face due to physical separation and how technological advancements, particularly social media, offer solutions. The aim is to explore the role of social media in fostering marital harmony in the context of distance and time problems. A qualitative research method was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews. The study involved 11 participants, all of whom are married couples experiencing distance and time challenges. The findings reveal that social media plays a crucial role in bridging the communication gap between couples. Features such as video calls and photo sharing enable couples to stay connected and maintain intimacy despite the distance. The use of social media thus contributes significantly to the preservation and development of marital harmony.

Abstract

This study explores various faith formation activities for Catholic children and their impact on faith development and attitude changes among them. The research focuses on highlighting the importance of faith formation programs in fostering spiritual growth and promoting positive behavioral changes in Catholic children. A qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through interviews. Purposive sampling was used to select participants, including three faith formation teachers, one parent, and one priest who were deeply involved in faith formation activities. The study presents four key findings: (1) faith formation teachers view their role as a calling and mission from God, (2) faith formation for Catholic children is a structured program designed to train and nurture faith, (3) the faith formation program in Region 3 St. Cornelius has been effectively implemented, with creative teachers actively engaging children in various activities, and (4) these activities have had a significant impact on the children’s faith development and attitudes, as evidenced by increased generosity, willingness to help others, forgiveness, and greater devotion in prayer.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the presence of Christ in the Eucharistic Celebration and the understanding of the Santa Maria Rejoso church stage of Santa Maria Parish Blitar about the presence of Christ in the Eucharistic Celebration. This research uses qualitative research methods with data collection techniques through interviews. The technique of selecting informants is using purposive sampling technique. The criteria of the informants are church stage’s managers and activists from the categorical group representatives. This research results are first, the people have understood the presence of Christ in their daily life, the two people understand that the Eucharist is a holy communion, the three people understand that Christ is present at the Eucharist, and the four the people believe that Christ doesn’t only present in the Eucharist celebration, but also in the other Liturgical celebration and in their daily life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Eucharistic celebration on the spirituality and education of prospective catechists at STKIP Widya Yuwana. The methodology used is a literature study with qualitative analysis of various relevant sources regarding the Eucharist and its impact on catechist education. The results of the study indicate that the Eucharistic celebration functions as a source and peak of Christian life, increases spiritual awareness, supports the development of spiritual maturity, and provides motivation in carrying out the calling as a catechist. In addition, the Eucharist plays a role in spiritual healing and strengthening the faith of prospective catechists. In conclusion, the Eucharist has a significant impact on the formation of character and spirituality of prospective catechists.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the roles and mentoring methods of Catholic adolescent facilitators in the Santa Maria Jombang Parish. Utilizing a qualitative methodology, the study involved purposive sampling to select informants, comprising both facilitators and adolescents. Data collection was conducted through voice call interviews. The findings reveal four key conclusions: first, the facilitators are recognized as adults who play a vital role in nurturing and accompanying Catholic adolescents, embodying their vocation and mission; second, a variety of mentoring methods are employed by the facilitators; third, adolescents perceive that their facilitators align with their expectations due to their personalities and spirituality; and fourth, there are specific mentoring methods that adolescents prefer or dislike. This study highlights the importance of effective mentorship in the spiritual development of Catholic youth.
