Abstract

This study aims to analyze students’ adaptation to industrial discipline and work ethic during industrial internships and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors experienced by students at PT. ATMI Solo. This study employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation using purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model. The results showed that students’ adaptation to industrial discipline and work ethic occurred gradually through continuous exposure to industrial work culture. Students learned to adjust to time discipline, job responsibilities, compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP) and occupational safety regulations (K3), as well as work quality standards. Supporting factors included guidance from industry supervisors, a supportive work environment, prior practical experience, and students’ learning motivation. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included differences in students’ basic competencies, limited mastery of industrial technology, low mental readiness for work, and lack of motivation among some students.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are: (1) To determine the effect of using Step Up Voltage on torque and power of Honda Beat 2013 motorcycles. (2) To determine the effect of using Pertalie and Pertamax fuel variations on torque and power of Honda Beat 2013 motorcycles. (3) Knowing the best configuration of Step Up Voltage and fuel variations on the torque of the 2013 Honda Beat motorcycle. The research method used is experimental. The data of this research was obtained by measuring the sample of Honda Beat 2013 motorcycle. The independent variable was the use of Step Up Voltage with a voltage variation of 13.7 V to 14.7 V with a range of 0.2 V with Pertamax and Pertalite fuel. The dependent variable is the maximum torque of the axle and the maximum power of the axle which is measured using a dynamometer. The data obtained were then analyzed using a comparative descriptive technique by describing the data in the form of graphs, statistics and tables. From these data, a comparison is made between groups of data. The results of this study are: (1) The use of Step Up Voltage can increase the torque and power of the Honda Beat 2013 motorcycle. The largest increase in torque is at a voltage setting of 13.9 V with an average increase of 0.44 N.m from standard conditions. The average maximum power increase of the largest axle is at a voltage setting of 14.1 V, which is 0.30 HP from standard conditions. (2) The use of Pertamax fuel can increase the torque and power of the Honda Beat 2013 motorcycle. The average torque produced is 19.98 Nm, an increase of 0.26 Nm from pertalite fuel and produces an average power of 7.47 HP, an increase of 0.34. HP of pertalite fuel. (3) The best configuration is obtained from the use of a 13.9 V Step Up Voltage combined with Pertamax fuel. Torque increased by 0.44 N.m from standard conditions to 20.41 N.m and power increased by 0.20 HP from standard conditions to 7.67 HP

Abstract

This research aims to (1) measure the IoT-based wind potential using wind speed and direction data collected through microcontrollers at heights of 6, 8, 10, and 12 meters; (2) determine the wind potential based on wind speed and direction in Mojolaban Sub-district; and (3) identify suitable wind turbine recommendations that align with the measurement area's conditions. The research was conducted using an experimental method. The data sources for this study include wind speed and direction measured using IoT-based microcontrollers. Purposive sampling was used for sample collection. The instruments used for data collection include anemometers for measuring wind speed and wind vanes for determining wind direction. Validation techniques involved using anemometers and compasses. The data analysis was performed using descriptive quantitative analysis. The research results indicate that the highest average wind speed occurs at a height of 12 meters. Mojolaban Sub-district has an average wind speed of 0.75 m/s, with the dominant wind direction from the north, and a maximum speed of 3.43 m/s. The wind potential in that area is not sufficiently high to be effectively utilized as a significant wind energy source due to its low level and insufficient magnitude. Vertical Savonius wind turbines are a suitable choice for harnessing low wind speeds in Mojolaban Sub-district.

Abstract

Utilization of palm waste in the form of charcoal briquettes makes the fuel more efficient and in a better form. Thus, charcoal briquette fuel with sugar palm waste is a solution or alternative to solving the waste problem caused by palm trees. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of pre-heating on the pyrolysis process of palm sugar waste biomass on gas fraction, bio-oil and char. This study used an experimental method conducted in the Mechanical Engineering Education Laboratory of Sebelas Maret University. The research variable is the variation of pre-heating time in the pyrolysis of palm waste biomass against gas fraction, bio-oil and char in a continuous model horizontal reactor. The result of this study is that pre-heating has an effect on the gas fraction. The longer the pre-heating process is carried out, the lower the amount of O2 gas produced. Pre-heating affects the char, so the quality and quantity can be measured.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the Basic Competency Standard of the Automotive Expertise Program in Grade X of Bhinneka Karya Vocational High School of Surakarta in academic year 2015/2016; (2) the students’ learning result; and (3) the students’ ways of thinking to improve their learning result through the application of the 2013 curriculum. This research used the descriptive qualitative method, which described its objects of research holistically based on the reality in the field and which aimed at describing the facts being studied systematically and accurately. The data sources of the research were the teachers and the students in Grade X TO B of the Automotive Expertise Program of Bhinneka Karya Vocational High School of Surakarta. Its data were collected through observation, in-depth interview, and documentation. They were analyzed by using the interactive model of analysis comprising data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. The attainment of competency particularly in the Automotive Basic Competency subject matter of the students of Bhinneka Karya Vocational High School of Surakarta can be improved through the application of  2013 curriculum. The application of 2013 curriculum is more efficient in assessing the students’ attitude, knowledge, skill, and spirit aspects as indicated by the results of their final test of the second semester in which following the application of the 2013 curriculum, their learning achievement increased by 22.74% from 36.36% to 59.1%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan analisis dan informasi problematika dan alternatif pemecahan masalah pembelajaran pengelasan pada Kurikulum Merdeka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasi dan studi literatur dengan menggabungkan pendapat penelitian terdahulu.  Metode observasi dengan melakukan pengamatan langsung pada saat pelaksanaan Praktik Pengenalan Lapangan(PPL) dan melakukan pengamatan secara langsung sesuai dengan kondisi yang ada pada lapangan di SMK Muhamadiyah 1 Surakarta dengan siswa kelas X.  Dari data yang diperoleh penerapan pembelajaran pengelasan pada Kurikulum Merdeka ditemui permasalahan yang saling berkaitan yaitu mengenai pengelolaan kelas, materi pembelajaran dan interaksi antara guru dengan murid. Untuk itu penulis mengambil ketiga permasalahan tersebut sebagai bahan observasi yang dimana nantinya di luruskan sesuai dengan tujuan dari Kurikulum Merdeka dimana pembelajaran yang diharapkan adalah student center. Hasil dari observasi ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan mengkaji ulang mengenai pengelolaan kelas, penyusnan materi ajar sesuai perangkat pembelajaran, melakukan hubungan interaksi antara guru dengan siswa dengan baik, peningkatan dalam inovasi dan kekreatifan guru dalam merancang model dan media pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif bagi siswa serta menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang tepat guna  maka tujuan dari pembelajaran pengelasan sesuai dengan Kurikulum Merdeka dapat tercapai dengan baik

Abstract

Pendidikan vokasional salah satu aspek penting pendidikan di indonesia yang menekankan pembelajaran praktik untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang tidak hanya memiliki pengetahuan teoritis tetapi juga keterampilan teknis, untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut pendidikan vokasi harus didukung dengan berbagai faktor terutama yaitu ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana yang memadai. Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin Universitas Sebelas Maret termasuk dalam pendidikan vokasional menyediakan sarana dan prasarana untuk mendukung pembelajaran praktik namun masih terdapat keterbatasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran praktik pada mata kuliah praktik motor bakar lanjut. Penelitian ini menggunakan model evaluasi CIPP (context, input, process dan product) dengan menggunakan mixed method explanatory yaitu mengambil data kuantitatif terlebih dahulu dilanjutkan dengan pengambilan data kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu total sampling untuk data kuantitatif sedangkan untuk data kualitatif yaitu purposive sampling dan snowball sampling. Sumber data penelitian yaitu ketua program studi, ketua tim kurikulum, dosen otomotif, kepala laboratorium, toolman dan mahasiswa otomotif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, angket dan wawancara. Teknik validasi instrumen menggunakan validasi isi dengan menanyakan pendapat kepada ahli (expert judgement) serta menggunakan aplikasi SPSS untuk uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Keabsahan data pada penelititan ini menggunakan teknik triangulasi metode. Teknik analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan rentang kategori menurut Saifudin Azwar sedangkan analisis data kualitatif menurut Miles & Hubberman. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan efektivitas pada aspek context termasuk kategori sedang dengan persentase 53% , aspek input termasuk kategori tinggi dengan persentase 30%, aspek process termasuk kategori tinggi dengan persentase 43% dan aspek product termasuk kategori tinggi dengan persentase 34%.

Abstract

Menentukan arah masa depan setelah lulus sekolah merupakan fase penting bagi siswa, khususnya di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) yang berorientasi pada kesiapan kerja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis minat dan persepsi siswa kelas XI TBSM di SMK di Bandung dalam memilih antara langsung bekerja atau melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam kepada siswa dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa cenderung memilih untuk langsung bekerja setelah lulus, dengan faktor utama berupa kondisi finansial keluarga yang mendorong mereka untuk segera mandiri secara ekonomi dan membantu orang tua. Di sisi lain, sebagian kecil siswa memilih untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke perguruan tinggi, yang dipengaruhi oleh dukungan orang tua, adanya bantuan pendidikan seperti KIP-K, serta motivasi pribadi untuk mencapai cita-cita tertentu. Peran guru juga cukup signifikan dalam memberikan arahan dan informasi terkait pilihan karier siswa. Secara keseluruhan, faktor ekonomi menjadi pertimbangan utama dalam pengambilan keputusan, namun siswa tetap menunjukkan semangat untuk produktif baik melalui bekerja maupun melanjutkan pendidikan.

Abstract

The phenomenon of dishonesty occurs a lot in the academic field, one of which is plagiarism and cheating which are often encountered in universities in the process of learning and research. Academic dishonesty at the tertiary level in Timor-Leste is considered to affect the integrity of graduates when entering the workforce. The purpose of this study is to analyze indicators of academic dishonesty, causes of academic dishonesty, and appropriate solutions to overcome academic dishonesty of university students in Timor-Leste class of 2020-2022.           This research is a positivistic quantitative, descriptive research. The research was conducted using a Google form. The subjects of the study were 59 university students in the Timor-Leste class of 2020-2022. The data collection technique is by using questionnaire methods and questionnaire instruments. Validity and reliability of data using the help of data processing software. Data analysis uses descriptive statistical analysis technique. The results showed that the indicators of academic dishonesty of Higher Education Students in the Timor-Leste class of 2020-2022 were Working together with friends during the exam, Allowed other students to see answers during quizzes or exams, Asking exam questions to other students who had done exams before, Seeing cases of cheating in class and not reporting it to the supervisor. The cause of academic dishonesty is that the questions given are very difficult and students consider working together during exams a form of solidarity. The solution to overcome academic dishonesty is that there is a reprimand when committing academic cheating, supervisors are firm in addressing academic dishonesty, and there are severe penalties when caught cheating.

Abstract

This study aims at examining the effect of (1) micro teaching’s achievement on readiness to become a teacher in Mechanical Engineering Education Students class of 2014 (2) learning achievement of educational internship 3 on the readiness to become a teacher in Mechanical Engineering Education Students class of 2014 (3) the achievement of micro teaching and education internship 3 jointly on the readiness to become a teacher in Mechanical Engineering Education Students class of 2014.This research is correlational research. The population in this study were all of Mechanical Engineering Education Students class of 2014, and there are 65 students to be population. The sample size taken by simple random sampling technique, and its taken 55 students. Data collection was carried out with documentation for micro teaching’s achievement and educational internship 3, and questionnaire method for teacher readiness data. The trial instrument of readiness to become a teacher was carried out in Civil Engineering Education Students class of 2014  in 30 students.. Data analysis techniques using partial correlation and multiple linear regression. Testing and analyzing data using SPPS software version 21.0. The results show that (1) there is a significant positive relationship between micro teaching’s achievement with the readiness to become a teacher in Mechanical Engineering Education Students class of 2014; (2) there is a significant positive relationship between the achievement of educational internship 3 and the readiness to become a teacher in Mechanical Engineering Education Students class of 2014; (3) there is a significant positive relationship between the achievement of learning micro teaching and education internship 3 with the readiness to become a teacher for Mechanical Engineering Education Students class of 2014.
