Welfare: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat is a blind peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the publication of the results of community service. The articles published in the Welfare Journal include the results of original dedication. All publications in the journal Welfare are open access which allows articles to be freely available online without any subscription. Welfare is published four times a year by the literacy service journal as a journal manager at Faculty of Islamic Economis and Business, IAIN Kediri. Welfare accepts manuscripts or articles to strengthen the fields of applied and social sciences from various academics and researchers, both nationally and internationally. The scope is Society Development and Engagement focus on Social, Human Resource Development, Management, Business Management, Islamic Economics, Zakat, infaq, alms, waqf, bank and non-bank financial institutions, and MSMEs.. Abstract

The aim of this service is to increase the readiness and spiritual strengthening of prospective Hajj pilgrims in Nganjuk Regency in 2024 through manasik guidance. Service methods include preparing comprehensive presentation materials, group discussion sessions, and the use of visual media to facilitate understanding of the procedures for the Hajj pilgrimage and strengthening spiritual intentions. This activity was carried out in Kertosono, Patianrowo, Lengkong, and Jatikalen sub-districts on April 30, 2024, with the active participation of 70 participants. The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the Hajj procedures, strengthening spiritual awareness and mental readiness to face the Hajj journey. Apart from that, this activity also succeeded in building a social environment that supports spiritual growth among participants, creating momentum for a deeper and more sustainable spiritual transformation in preparation for their Hajj pilgrimage.

Abstract

This training aims to develop creativity in creating valuable products from patchwork to stimulate the community's economy. The method used is ABCD (asset-based community development), which focuses on utilizing local assets to build community capacity. The results of the service show that woven fabric is a typical fabric of the city of Kediri, with types such as sarong gombyor, misris cloth, semi-silk, and silk. The process of making woven cloth involves the use of fine threads and goes through two stages of work with 14 stages. The large number of rags or fabrics left over from production is the potential that is utilized in this training. The patchwork is processed into various accessories, such as brooches and key chains, that can be used by all groups. It is hoped that the use of patchwork as an accessory will attract the attention of various levels of society because of its affordable price. This allows people who are constrained by high prices to still collect woven fabric-based products at lower prices, thereby contributing to improving the local economy.

Abstract

The application of the STIFIn method at Pondok Tahfiz Putri Bani Ibrahim in Palangka Raya seeks to improve Human Resource Management (HRM) and enhance the personal branding of santri. This community service activity was driven by the need to provide a personalized learning approach that aligns with each santri’s natural tendencies and potential. The goal of the program is to optimize their memorization skills, character building, and self-confidence to prepare them as well-rounded individuals in society. The activity employed methods such as personality identification using the STIFIn framework, tailored training sessions, and mentoring programs focusing on HRM strategies and personal branding. The results showed that this approach improved the effectiveness of learning processes, increased santri’s self-awareness, and strengthened their personal branding. This initiative not only contributed to the institution’s mission of creating Quranic generations but also equipped the santri with essential life skills for broader societal engagement.

Abstract

This community service aims to empower MSMEs in Gampong Lam Duro through the use of digital platforms in the Society 5.0 era. The background to this activity is the need for MSME players to adapt to technological developments in order to increase competitiveness and economic prosperity. This program is designed to provide basic education, training, and practical skills related to opportunities and strategies for using digital media. The implementation method involves three main stages: location observation and licensing, participant recruitment, and intensive training that includes pre-test and post-test to measure the effectiveness of the program. The training material includes an introduction to digital platforms, marketing strategies, and online store management. The results of the training showed an increase in participants' understanding by 40%, indicating success in providing knowledge and practical skills. In conclusion, this program is running well, having a positive impact on the ability of MSMEs to utilize digital media to support business development and economic prosperity.

Abstract

This community service activity focuses on counseling Islamic parenting for parents of students at SDN Pakel Yogyakarta. The program aims to introduce Islamic values as a fundamental method for raising children to become pious individuals, aligning with government recommendations to address the rising cases of juvenile delinquency. Using the Service Learning method, the activity integrates observation, socialization, lectures, and evaluation, fostering active engagement between participants and facilitators. Conducted in the SDN Pakel hall, this initiative involved a structured approach to delivering materials and engaging parents in discussions and practical sessions on Islamic parenting practices inspired by the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The results revealed a significant increase in parents' motivation and enthusiasm to apply Islamic parenting principles. Furthermore, the program successfully provided parents with fresh perspectives and a deeper understanding of the importance of incorporating Islamic values in their parenting approach, many of which were previously unfamiliar to them.

Abstract

The role of youth in community development is very important. The social awareness program implemented by Karang Taruna in Kalipecabean Village aims to overcome social challenges such as juvenile delinquency, violence, and drug abuse. This program is designed to increase youth involvement in positive and productive social activities through several important aspects such as: selection of qualified members of the Youth Organization, socialization about the dangers of juvenile delinquency, and leadership development. This method uses the Participatory Action Research method or commonly known as the PAR method in Kalipecabean Village which begins with observation through interviews with the head of Kalipecabean Village and the community to find out the problems that exist in relation to it. The results of the service show the success of rebuilding youth awareness in Kalipecabean Village. With this program, it is hoped that it can educate and motivate village youth to play an active role in the community and develop the skills needed to face social challenges.

Abstract

Agriculture in Tekik Hamlet, Ngloro Village, Gunungkidul Regency has great potential as a major source of income for the community. However, a major challenge faced by farmers is the infestation of long-tailed macaques, which threatens their crop yields and welfare. To address this issue, the author initiated a socialization program on long-tailed macaque pest prevention, which aims to increase farmers' understanding and knowledge of effective methods in dealing with the threat. The program includes stages such as problem identification, target analysis, material preparation, media selection and socialization methods, cooperation with related parties, as well as program implementation and evaluation. The positive impact of the program can be seen in the reduction of losses due to macaque attacks over the 15 days following the socialization. The program also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the academic world, student organizations and the community in addressing challenges in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

The interest and reading culture of Indonesian society is still very low. The government has made various efforts to overcome this problem. One of the government's efforts is through community reading parks (TBM). Community Reading Parks (TBM) play an important role in efforts to increase literacy culture in society, especially in areas with limited access to formal education resources. This research report is entitled "The Role of Community Reading Parks (TBM) in Increasing Literacy Culture in the Titik Village Community, Semen District, Kediri Regency”. This research aims to examine the role of TBM in improving society's literacy culture. The research method used is a qualitative approach, where data is collected through observation and in-depth interviews. This research activity was carried out at TBM Titik Pena. The research results show that the existence of TBM has a significant positive impact in increasing interest in reading, providing access to a variety of reading materials, and facilitating various literacy activities involving people from various circles. Apart from that, TBM also acts as an informal learning center that supports the development of residents' knowledge and skills. Supporting factors and implementation of TBM activities are adequate facilities, various kinds of reading books from early childhood to adulthood, support from the community, as well as donations of books to complement reading from donors. The inhibiting factors for TBM activities are children's boredom and laziness, as well as the various activities of managers and volunteers. This research emphasizes the importance of TBM support and development to strengthen literacy culture in Indonesia.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is an issue that requires serious attention because it can impact the social and moral life of adolescents. This activity aims to strengthen adolescent character through the application of religious values as an effort to prevent juvenile delinquency in Keniten Village, Mojo District, Kediri Regency. The community service method uses a participatory approach, which involves lecture sessions, group discussions, and simulations to understand and internalize religious values. This activity was attended by 30 adolescents, with the support of local religious figures as facilitators, and lasted for one day at the Keniten Village Hall. The results of the community service showed an increase in participants' understanding of the importance of religious values in forming positive character and responsible behavior. In addition, participants were able to recognize the negative impacts of juvenile delinquency and demonstrated a commitment to practicing religious values in everyday life. This program is expected to be the first step in building a young generation with character and harmony in society.

Abstract

The Sedekah Rosok Program in Puhrubuh Village aims to increase environmental awareness and empower the community's economy as an effort to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This activity is carried out by educating the community about the importance of household waste management through sedekah rosok, which is the donation of used goods that have economic value. The PAR service method includes socialization, recycling training, and the formation of community-based sedekah rosok management groups. The results of the activity show an increase in community understanding of environmentally friendly waste management, a decrease in the volume of household waste, and the creation of new economic opportunities through the management of rosok which is processed into products with sales value. This program has succeeded in integrating aspects of environmental sustainability and economic empowerment, while strengthening community collaboration in supporting the goals of the SDGs, especially in the aspects of sustainable consumption and production and poverty alleviation.
