Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aim of this research is improve quality of biology learning for conditioning class, student attitude in class, the performance of teacher and student motivation of learning in student class VII-D 1st Junior High School Of Jaten through the application of strategies for inquiry learning combined audio visual media. This research was classroom action research with planning, action, observation, and reflection steps. Data was collected using questionnaire, observation, and interview. The validation of data using method and observer triangulation techniques. The data analyzed by descriptive. The result in cycles I describes that mean of observation data in conditioning class indicators are 70,20%, students? attitudes in class are 62,77%, performance of teachers in the learning are 80% and students motivation in learning are 68,18%. For the questionnaire, observation data in conditioning class indicators are 74,53%, students? attitudes in class are 74,13%, and students motivation in learning are 74,38%. The result in cycles II describes that mean of observation data in conditioning class indicators are 80,81%, students? attitudes in class are 80.09%, performance of teachers in the learning are 96,67% and student motivation in learning are 83,71%. For the questionnaire, observation data in conditioning class indicators are 83,87%, students? attitudes in class are 82,49%, and students motivation in learning are 79,43%. In addition, this research also uses interview to know effect of research in quality of biology learning. The result of interview shows that students' attitudes more positive, students motivation more increase and classroom climate more conducive on learning activities. The conclusion of research describes that the combination of audio visual media in inquiry learning strategies can improve quality of biology learning for conditioning class, students' attitudes, performance of teachers in the learning and motivation of  learning in student class VII-D in 1st junior high school of jaten. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research aims to ascertain whether or not the application Student Created Case Studies learning method with picture media towards sains skill process. This research is considered quasi-experiment research.  The research was designed using Posttest-Only Control Group Design by applying Student Created Case Studies learning method l with picture media in experimental group and lectures methods, discussions, and experiment  in control group.  The population of this research were all strudents in X grade of SMA Negeri 1 Mojolaban in academic year 2011/ 2012. The sample of this research was established by Cluster Random Sampling, in order to obtain class X-4 as experimental group and class X-3 as control group.  The data was collected by using tests, documentation and observation form.  The hypothesis was analized by using t-test.  The conclusion of this research is that the application Student Created Case Studies learning method with picture media towards sains skill process. Abstract

ABSTRACT - This research aims to ascertain whether or not the application Socratic Circles method with images media affects the student?s creative thinking skill.This research is considered quasi-experiment research.  The research was designed using Posttest-Only Control Group Design by applying Socratic Circles method with images media in experimental group and lectures methods, discussions, and presentations in control group.  The population of this research were all strudents in X grade of SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali in academic year 2011/ 2012. The sample of this research was established by Cluster Random Sampling, in order to obtain class X-3 as experimental group and class X-2 as control group.  The data was collected by using tests, documentation and observation form.  The hypothesis was analized by using t-test. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The  purposes of this research were to know: 1) the influence of Everyone  is a Teacher Here to the mastery of biology result 2) the influence of student?s learning interest to the mastery of biology result; 3) the interaction between learning model and learning interest to the mastery of biology result ; and 4) the influence of better learning model to the mastery of biology result This research was quasi experiment research using Randomized Control Only design. Learning model and learning interest were independent variables and mastery of biology concept was the dependent variable. The population of this research was all of  X grade of SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo. The samples of this research were the students of class XI IPA 2 as the control class and students of class XI IPA 6 as the experimental class.  The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The data about the result of study biology collected by use test and observation. Learning interest meansured by using questionnaires. The analisis of this research was anava two away in different cell and the advance test used Bonfferoni test. . The conclusion of this research were: 1) Problem Based Instruction had significant influence to the mastery of biology result kognitif domain on XI IPA grade of SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo; 2) Learning interest hadn?t significant influence to the mastery of biology result kognitif domain on XI IPA grade of SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo; and 3) There wasn?t interaction between learning model and learning interest to the mastery of biology result kognitif domain on XI IPA grade of SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo Keywords : the mastery of biology resultt, Everyone is a Teacher Here and learning interest

Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The research is aimed to developing an items test and questionnaire analysis software in order that facilitate students of Biology Education Department, Sebelas Maret University who are conducting research in schools  to analyzing the items test and questionnaire. The software is AN Soft 1.0 that has functions to facilitate the user in analyzing the items test and questionnaire. The software is based on Microsoft Visual Foxpro 9.0 with Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010 as controllers. The research is belonged to Research and Development Method (R & D) (Borg, WR and Gall, MD, 1989) with the following research stages. Research and initial data collection, planning, making the initial product, the initial product  test, the initial product improvements, field test, operational and product improvements. The research involves the following trial subjects. (1) The initial test involving an educational expert, visual communication expert, and information technology expert. (2) The small trial group involves 30 students of Biology Education Department, Sebelas Maret University. (3) The large trial group involves 50 students of Biology Education Department, Sebelas Maret University. The data was analyzed using qualitative descriptive approach that describes and interprets the qualitative data. Before the data was analyzed, carried out the quantification of data from the questionnaires and the assessment form then the data was analyzed qualitatively. The interviews data was analyzed qualitatively. The results of field test 1 and 2 showed that there is an increasing percentage of the total score from all aspects. The results of the questionnaire showed that the rate of interesting on AN Soft 1.0 users increased from 85.33% to 89.8% is classified as very strong, the ease of installing Soft AN 1.0 increased from 84.33% to 94.2% is classified as very strong, The ease of operations AN Soft 1.0 increased from 84% to 93.4% is classified as very strong, and the mastery level of AN Soft 1.0 users increased from 81% to 90.6% which is classified as very strong. Based on the results, it was concluded the developing of items test and questionnaire analysis software product can be facilitating users to analysis items test and questionnaire in accordance with the rules of proper instruments analysis. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The purpose of this research are: 1) to ascertain the influence of guided inquiry models with diagram V (Vee) on biology learning toward critical thinking skills of 10thgrade students at SMA Negeri Gondangrejo in academic year 2011/2012, 2) to ascertain the influence of guided inquiry models with diagram V (Vee) on biology learning toward learning achievement of 10thgrade students at SMA Negeri Gondangrejo in academic year 2011/2012. The research was quasi experiment research using quantitative approach. The research was designed using posttest only control design. The populations of this research were all of 10thdegree students at SMA Negeri Gondangrejo Karanganyar in academic year 2011/2012. The sample of this research was established by cluster random sampling. The samples of this research were the students of 10th-1 as experiment group and 10th-2 as control group. Experimental group applied guided inquiry models with diagram V (Vee). Control group applied conventional learning models specifically speech varies with experiment accompanied a simple summary. The data was collected by document, test, observation form, and questionnaire. The hypothesis analyzed by t-test with help of SPSS 16. The research concluded that the influence of guided inquiry models with  diagram V (Vee) on biology learning had significant effect toward critical thinking skills of 10thgrade students at SMA Negeri Gondangrejo in academic year 2011/2012 with significant value is 0,041. The influence of guided inquiry models with diagram V (Vee) on biology learning had significant effect toward learning achievement of 10thgrade students at SMA Negeri Gondangrejo in academic year 2011/2012 with significant value cognitive domain is 0,013; psychomotor domain is 0,000 by observation form and 0,001 by questionnaire; affective domain is 0,000 by observation form and 0,005 by questionnaire. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? Purpose of the researched is to improve the ability to rational thinkingh of through application of Guided Inquiry Strategies on all cognitive dimensions of VII F I Class Students SMP 5 Surakarta years 2011/2012. The research is an action research study Classroom what is done in several cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation and reflection. The research subjects are VIII-F Class Students SMP 5 Surakarta years 2011/2012. The data obtained by observation of written test. Techniques of data analysis using descriptive analysis technique. Validating data using triangulation research method. The research was motivated by the observation of the observations made on the VII-F class student of SMP 5 Surakarta. The results showed that the average achievement scores of rational thinking ability to process information on aspects on the 1st cycle by 56.15%, 69.73% in 2nd, and 70.68% in 3rd. Aspects of solving problems on 1st cycle by 38.22%, 67.83% in the second, 67.71%in 3rd . Aspects of a decision on the 1st cycle by 56.87%, 63.51% the second and 71% on 3rd.. The increase that occurs in every cycle showed that Guided Inquiry Learning model can improve the ability of rational thinking. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This research is  aimed  to know  effect  of implementation strategy Giving Questions and Getting Answer (GQGA) towards biology learning achievement. This research held upon senior high school  student  of SMA  N  Banyudono in academic year 2011/2012. Giving Questions and Getting Answer (GQGA) was expected to be more effective rather than if use convensional method. All student of SMA N Banyudono had been chosen as a research population.Since, not all student was not attending biological class, hence, randomly, 2 clusters were  selected representing  the  control  class  (for where  the  experimental  treatment was not carried out) and the experimental class for where the Giving Questions and Getting Answer  (GQGA). Quasy-experimental  method was  designed to achieve  the stated research objectives following the quantitative paradigm used in this research. In addition, Randomized Subjects Posstest Only Control Group Design was used as a research design to facilitate  the  data  collection  procedures. The  data  were collected using  several  techniques  namely, questionnaire, posttest  with multiple  choice, observation tools and related document. The final obtained data were then analyzed using t- test method. The results of this research showed that the implementation of the strategy has significantly affected the biology learning achievement. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? This study was aimed to know: (1) The influence of the use of  Inquiring Minds Want  To Know  learning strategy in Biology  learning  towards  learning  achievement of the second grade students of SMA Negeri Kebakkramat. (2) The influence of the level of students learning activity towards learning achievement of the second grade students  of  SMA  Negeri  Kebakkramat. (3)  Whether  or  not  there  is  an interaction between the  Inquiring  Minds  Want  To Know  learning  strategy  and  the  students learning  activity  towards  learning  achievement  in Biology  of  the  second grade students of SMA Negeri Kebakkramat in the academic year of 2011/2012. The  population of  this  study  was  all  of  the  second grade  students  of  SMA Negeri Kebakkramat in the second semester of the academic year of 2011/2012. The sample  of  the  study  were  XI  IPA  2 students  as  the  experiment  class  and  XI  IPA  3 students  as  the  control  class, taken  by  Cluster  Random  Sampling. The  learning strategy  and the  learning  activity  were  considered to be  the  independent  variable while learning achievement in Biology became the dependent variable. The data was collected using documentation technique,  test, questionnaire, and observation sheet. The technique used to analyze the data was two-way Analysis of Variance (Anava). This  study  was  a  Quasi  Experimental  Research  with  Randomized Control  Only Design. The  results  of  the  study  can be  concluded as  follows:  (1)  There  is  a significant  influence  of  applying  Inquiring  Minds  Want  To Know  learning  strategy towards  affective  and psycomotoric  learning  achievement  in  Biology  of  the  second grade students of SMA Negeri Kebakkramat, yet there is no significant influence on cognitive  ones. (2)  There  is  an influence  of  students  learning  activity  towards cognitive, affective and psycomotoric learning achievement in Biology of the second grade  students  of  SMA  Negeri  Kebakkramat. (3)  There  is  no interaction between Inquiring  Minds  Want  To Know  learning  strategy  and students  learning  activity towards cognitive, affective and psycomotoric learning achievement in Biology of the second grade students of SMA Negeri Kebakkramat. Abstract

ABSTRACT ? The aim of this research was to improve creative thinking skill of students in class X-10 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta year 2011/2012, which consist of 5 aspect, fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration and evaluation. Classroom Action Research was used in this research, which has four phases, they are  planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data of the research were collected by using observation sheet, test, questionare, and interview. The data were analyzed by qualitative descriptive method. The validity of data was verified through triangulation technique of data collecting method. The results showed the percentage of every aspect of creative thinking skills based test on a first cycle have not gain thet targets, achievement of Fluency aspect is 69,70%, then 63.64% for Flexibility, 47.73% for Originality, 56.82% for Elaboration, and 49.24% for Evaluation. The results of the second cycle  increased, but there are aspects that have not reached the target. Result for each aspect was 79.55% for Fluency, 73.11% for Flexibility, Originality of 54.55%, 60.23% for Elaboration, and Evaluation of 57.58%. All aspects have not fulfill of the target yet, so the action continued to third cycle. The results achieved in the third cycle, Fluency aspects of 85.86%, 78.03% for flexibility, 63.64% for Originality, 60.23% for Elaboration, and Evaluation of 62.12%. All aspects of creative thinking skills already outreach the target, so the action was stopped. The conclusion of this research described that the Problem Based learningn (PBL) improve creative thinking skill in biology subject learning of students at class X-10 SMA Negeri 3 Surakarta year 2011/2012.
