Abstract

The aims of this research to find out: 1) the difference of effectiveness between jigsaw and lecture method in improving Social Sciences learning achievement; 2) the difference of effectiveness between jigsaw and lecture method in improving Social Sciences learning achievement for the students with high activeness; 3) the difference of effectiveness between jigsaw and lecture method in improving Social Sciences learning achievement for the students with low activeness; and 4) the interaction between learning method and social science learning activeness of students on the improvement of Social Science learning achievement in the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar.This study was a True-experimental design. The method employed was experiment. The population of research was the VIII graders of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar in the school year of 2013/2014, in the even semester. The population of research was the VIII graders, consisting of 135 students. The sample of research was taken using Random Sampling technique. The sample consisted of 54 students divided into experiment (30 students) and control (24 students) groups.The conclusions of research were as follows. 1) There was a significantly different effect of jigsaw and lecture learning method uses on the student learning achievement in social sciences subject with F statistic value = 10,756 > 4.03. The result of multiple comparative test showed a significantly different mean of learning achievement in social sciences subject; it was due to different learning metode use. 2) There was no significantly different effect of lecture/conventional and jigsaw learning methods on the students with high activeness with F statistic value = 19.877 > 4.03.  The result of multiple comparative test showed no significantly different mean of learning achievement in social sciences subject; it was because the students had equal activeness in which they had equally high activeness. 3) There was a significantly different effect of jigsaw and lecture learning methods on the students with low activeness.  The result of multiple comparative test showed a significantly different mean of learning achievement in social sciences subject; the mean value of social sciences learning achievement in jigsaw method was 79.33, while that in lecture method was 69.47; it indicated that different methods had an effect on social sciences learning achievement. 4) There was a significant interaction effect of learning metode use and student learning activeness on the social science learning achievement with F statistic value = 4.531 > 4.03. Thus, it could be found that jigsaw method was more effectively used in learning activity to improve learning achievement and activeness of social science subject in the students of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Karanganyar.Keywords: effectiveness, jigsaw method, lecture method, activeness, learning achievement.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to increase history subject learning achievement by the implementation of cooperative learning model with question student have dan talking stick technique in SMA Batik 1 Class IPS XI. Method used in this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). This research used two research-cycles, every research cycles consist of planning session, action session, observation session, and reflection session. Subject of this research are fourty seven students in SMA Batik 1 Class IPS XI. The source of research data came from the teacher and students. This research used observation, interviewing, specific instrument test, and document as data collecting technique. Data crosschecked is used as data validation technique. Analytic Description is used as analyzing technique. Result describe the implementation of cooperative learning model with question student have dan talking stick technique able to increase history subject learning achievement from pre-cycles to cycles II. Student learning achievement is measured by affective aspect, cognitive aspect, and psychomotor aspect. In pre-cycles, 28 students (59,58%) pass the cognitive passing grade, 27 students (57,44%) pass the affective passing grade, no students pass the  psychomotor passing grade. In cycles I, 37 students (78,72%) pass the cognitive passing grade, 43 students (91,49%) pass the affective passing grade with excellent, 20 students (42,54%) pass the  psychomotor passing grade with excellent grade. In cycles II, 45 students (95,74%) pass the cognitive passing grade, 47 students (100%) pass the affective passing grade with excellent grade, 45 students (95,75%) pass the  psychomotor passing grade with excellent grade. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the implementation of cooperative learning model with question student have dan talking stick technique in SMA Batik 1 Class IPS XI successfully increase student learning achievement in history subject.

Umi Ma?rufah Uswatun Hasanah. Reading Culture Among Youth. Objectives (1) To know the culture of reading among young people. (2) To find the cause of the low. Reading culture among teens remains low. And this is necessary and shall be enhanced. Starting from the awareness of the adolescent to change his habits to want familiar with books that can provide insight. By reading, will make us as human beings who have insight and be far from folly. If we are away from ignorance, would be far from poverty. So the welfare of the nation Indonesia will be better.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve the creativity and historical learning outcomes in the XI IPS 2 class of SMA N 1 Kartasura in academic year 2017/2018 using Project Based Learning (PjBL) model and audiovisual media.This research was a classroom action research (CAR). The research was conducted in two cycles, each of which consisted of planning, acting, observing,and evaluation-reflection. The subject of research was XI IPS 2 class of SMA N 1 Kartasura, consisting of 36 students. Data source was obtained from teachers, students, and learning proces. The result of research showed that : (1) the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model and audiovisual media could improve the creativity of the XI IPS 2 class of SMA N 1 Kartasura in academic year 2017/2018. It could be seen from the proportion of indicator achievement in the student creativity questionare and observation. The mean of achievement was 61,52 % in the cycle I and it increased to 70,11 % in cycle II, this gain had surpassed the specified target, 70%; (2) the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model and audiovisual media could improve the historical learning outcome of the XI IPS 2 class of SMA N 1 Kartasura in academic year 2017/2018. It could be seen from the successfully passing value in the cognitive test result. The proportion of the of the students passing successfully passing successfully was 50,0% in cycle I and it increased to 69,55% in the cycle II, this gain had surpassed the specified target, 65%.

Abstract

The aims of the research are to identifity: (1) the background of the establishment of the Javaansche Padvinders Organisatie (JPO) in Mangkunegaran; (2) the development of the JPO in Mangkunegaran (1916-1942); and (3) the role of the JPO, which has been done in the field of social, political, and cultural.Research methodology that used is Historical method. The historical method is the process of critically examine and analyze records and relics of the past. The initial phase of the method of historical research is to collect data or heuristics. The research data were collected in the form of primary and secondary sources, consisting of archives, magazines, and books related to the JPO. The instrument used to collect the data in the form of a human instrument, in which the researcher herself. After the data collection was completed, a data analysis was conducted. In analyzing the data, the researcher verified or criticized, interpreted, and then explained the historiography.Based on the research result, it can be concluded: (1) the establishment of JPO was caused by two factors: external and internal factors. External factors derived from the development of the world scouting movement towards the establishment of the JPO and internal factors derived from the socio-political conditions faced by Mangkunegoro VII at the beginning of his reign; (2) the development of the JPO is divided into three periods. In 1916-1923 was an early period, so that the JPO was difficult in recruiting members. In 1924-1938 was a JPO progression period, in 1937 the JPO already has 28 branches with 6,000 members. In 1929-1942 was a period of the decline of JPOthen dissolved by the Japanese in 1942; (3) the JPO has an important role in the social, political, and cultural. The role of JPO in the social field is as a container and an instrument in preparing physically and mentally of the members to face the social life of its members in the future. Politics, JPO performs political activities to show that Mangkunegoro VII has the power, authority, influence and great power in politics. JPO?s role in the field of culture and arts education. JPO is used as containers to educate and lead children, especially in terms of the formation of personality and body work in order to be useful and valuable population. In the arts, JPO actively teaches Javanese art especially palace Mangkunegaran to its members and to the subjects Mangkunegaran in general.

Abstract

The objective of research was to find out: 1) the different effect of cooperative learning strategy and individual learning strategy on historical learning achievement, 2) the effect of good, fair and poor learning creativity on historical learning achievement, and 3) the effect interaction between learning strategy and learning creativity on historical learning achievement.This study was an experimental quantitative research. The population of research was all of the 10th MIA graders of SMA Negeri 1 Sukoharjo in the school year of 2014/2015 with the 10th MIA 4 grade consisting of 38 students and the 10th MIA 6 grade consisting of 38 students as the sample taken using cluster random sampling technique. Techniques of collecting data used were questionnaire and test method that had been tried out with validity and reliability test. Technique of analyzing data used was a two-way variance analysis.Considering the analysis and discussion, the following conclusions could b drawn: (1) there was a difference of effect between cooperative learning strategy and individual learning strategy on the historical learning achievement of students (FA statistic >Ftable = 45.96 > 4.00), (2) there was a difference of effect between good, fair and poor learning creativities on the historical learning achievement of students (FB statistic >Ftable = 6.17 > 3.15), and (3) there was an effect interaction between learning strategy and learning creativity on historical learning achievement (FAB statistic >Ftable = 12.39 > 3.15).

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know: (1) to find out the background of Poerwododadie Sugar Plant in Pelem Village, (2) to find out the development of Poerwododadie Sugar Plant in Pelem Village and (3) to find out the effect of Poerwododadie Sugar Plant on the social economic life of the society in Pelem Village. This study was a descriptive qualitative research, the way of investigating an event in the present by providing descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from certain people or behavior that can be observed using certain procedures. This research employed a single embedded case study. The data source used was object source, place, event, informant and document; techniques of collecting data used were observation, interview, and document analysis. The sampling technique used was purposive and snowball sampling one. To validate the data, two triangulations techniques, data and method. Technique of analyzing data used was interactive analysis, the one encompassing three components: data reduction, data display, verification/conclusion drawing, proceeding cyclically. Considering the result of research, the following conclusions could be drawn. (1) The background of Purwodadie Sugar Plant establishment derived from Van den Bosch (Dutch Governor General?s idea) applying the compulsive planting system in Indonesia. (2) The development of Purwodadie Sugar Plant experienced fluctuation corresponding to the policy of the occupying government or in domestic condition at that time. (3) The effect of Purwodadie Sugar Plant existence on the society of Pelem Village was very large, in economic sector there was 70% of Pelem Village society working at Purwodadie Sugar Plant either as permanent or temporary workers (labor, foreman, driver, etc), seller and motorcycle driver thereby increasing income and society welfare. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve students? participation andlearning outcomes of students in class X IIS 5 SMA Negeri 1 Banyudono Boyolali by applying cooperative learning type of quick on the draw in history subject.This research is a classroom action research (CAR). The research was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle consisting of a plan, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 34 students of class X IIS 5 SMA Negeri 1 Banyudono Boyolali. Data source was derived from the teacher, the students and the learning prosess. Data collection techniques were implemented by interviews, conducting tests, observations, and documentation. Testing the data validity was done by using triangulation method and source. Data analysis was conducted by using comparative descriptive analysis techniques. The research model used was the spiral model (Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting).The next activity of asking the student in the learning process is also increasing. At the  stage of pre-cycle average activities asking students only 64,47%. Then at this stage of the first cycle increased to 76,46%, and at this stage of second cycle increased again to83,33%. Whereas for the history student learning outcomes also increased, it can be seen from the presentage of completeness history student learning outcomes (KKM = 75). At this stage of pre-cycle that scored at least 75 amounted to 70,58%  from 34 students or some 24 students. Then at the  stage of the first cycle that scored at least 75 increase compared with pre-cycle ie to 76,47% or some 26 students. At this stage of second cycle increased compared to pre-cycle and the first cycle,  which scored at least 75 ie to 82,35% or some28 students.Based on the research findings and discussion, it can be drawn a conclusion that the cooperative learning type of quick on the draw can improve questioning participation and learning outcomes of studying history subject of class X IIS 5 SMA Negeri 1 Banyudono Boyolali.

Abstract

The Aim of this research is to increase the character and the interest in Studying for the students of class XI IIS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta, by integrating nasionalism values by using cooperative learning model in the history learning.            The research is a classroom action research or Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK ). There are two cycles in applying of the research, by having each cycle consists of planing, action, observation, and reflection evaluation. The subject of this research is the students of class XI IIS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta, with the total of 24 persons. The data resource is from the teachers, students and the learning proceses. The techcnique of collecting data is done by observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. The validity test is using triangulation technics that is data triangulation and method. The analyzing of the data is using analyzing technique of qualitative descriptive. The research procedure is using cycle PTK model that is developed by Suharsimi Arikunto ( Planning, Action, Observing, Reflection)            The result of the research is indicating that a teacher can be categorized in having ability in integrating of nasionalism values by being well in the cooperative learning model, so the process of learning can run well. The implementation of nasionalism values by having cooperative learning model can increase the character and the interest in the history learning of the students of class XI IIS 1 SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta that is from pre cycle to first cycle and from the first cycle to the second cycle. The character of the pre cycle students is 74% increasing to 81.6% on the first cycle, and on the second cycle increasing to 83.2%. The interest of the student in the history learning is on pre cycle is about 77.1% that is increasing to 81.9% on the first cycle and increasing to 84.4% on the second cycle.            Based on the result of the research and the above discussion we can conclude that the implementation in the history learning is integrated by nasionalism values that is by having cooperative learning model so that it can increase the character and the learning interest of the students of class XI IIS I SMA Negeri 1 Surakarta.

Abstract

The objectives of research were to find out: (1) the development of leather craft industry in Selosari, (2) the role of local government in the development of leather craft industry in Selosari, and (3) the influence of leather craft industry on the society?s social economic life in Selosari. The methodology of this research was qualitative research. On this research used a single fixed case study which the object would be observed has limited and centralized on certain location which has specific characteristics. Considering the result of research, it could be concluded: (1) the development of leather craft production in Kelurahan Selosari has been beginning since 1960. In 1991 the leather craft center was officially established in Sawo Street. The number of its business unit was 36 SMEs with 223 workers and 11 joint ventures for the lower-middle craftsmen, (2) the Local Government played its part well in developing the leather craft business in Magetan, particularly Selosari. The roles it played were educational and facilitating ones to the craftsmen. Educational role included building, training, and information giving through guiding and counseling. Facilitating role included giving capital, technology, or equipment helps, and (3) the existence of leather craft in Selosari affected  the social economic life of Selosari people. The social effect included to improve the relationship between the members of society and to change the people?s social status from unemployed to craftsmen. The economic effect included to improve the income and wellbeing of Selosari people. Keyword : SMEs, leather craft, development, social effect, economy effect.
