Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning outcomes of Islamic Education before and after applying the Jigsaw cooperative learning method and to evaluate its impact on improving students' academic achievement in Islamic Education subjects. The research specifically investigates the influence of the Jigsaw learning approach on student achievement in an experimental study conducted in Grade XI at SMAN 3 Pandeglang. The study employed a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: an experimental group and a control group. A quantitative research approach was used, utilizing a survey method. The sampling technique employed was simple random sampling, selecting 69 students as the sample based on the nonequivalent formula. Data were collected through test distribution. After implementing the Jigsaw approach, the findings indicate a significant improvement in students' academic achievement in Islamic Education and character-building subjects. The pretest mean score of the experimental group was 64.43, which increased to 69.35 in the posttest. Similarly, students' performance in the control group improved from a pretest score of 65.93 to a posttest score of 71.80. Hypothesis testing using the t-test revealed a t-value (t = 10.82) greater than the critical value (t = 2.03) at a 5% significance level, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Thus, the Jigsaw cooperative learning approach impacts students' academic achievement. In contrast, conventional methods show no significant effect on the learning outcomes of Islamic Education and Character Building in Grade XI at SMAN 3 Pandeglang.

Abstract

This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the evolving preferences of education consumers and the strategic transformations private education institutions require to remain competitive in a globalized environment. The study uses a qualitative approach and a case study design to examine how consumer preferences have changed and how private educational institutions have adjusted their marketing tactics in response to international competition. Data collection techniques were in-depth interviews, document analysis, and marketing practice observations. Triangulation techniques were applied to ensure data validity, while thematic analysis was used to uncover patterns and key themes. The findings reveal a significant shift towards global skills-based education preferences, highlighting the critical role of digitalization in educational marketing and the challenges posed by accessibility gaps resulting from commercialization. Despite the potential of technology to broaden access and enhance transparency, high costs remain a substantial barrier for many. The study underscores the necessity of collaboration among governments, private sectors, and non-profit organizations to formulate inclusive policies that guarantee equitable access to quality education. The insights and strategic frameworks derived from this research offer valuable guidance for institutions seeking to navigate the dynamic landscape of global education.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of drum music as an effective strategy for managing emotional outbursts in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), particularly during tantrums. The research is motivated by parents, teachers, and therapists' challenges in handling tantrum behaviours, which often disrupt the affected child, their peers, and surrounding activities. Drum instruments were introduced as an engaging and enjoyable medium to redirect and regulate such behaviours in children with ASD. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research method to explore drum music's theoretical and practical impacts on emotional regulation. According to the research, children with ASD benefit significantly from playing drum instruments when it comes to emotional regulation. This entertaining and captivating practice promotes emotional self-regulation while acting as a diversion. The study demonstrates how youngsters may naturally and successfully regulate their emotional responses when engaged in drum-playing activities, highlighting the potential of drum music as a therapeutic aid.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of interpersonal communication in improving the quality of learning at Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design to understand the interactions between caregivers, foster parents, and students and the challenges faced in communication. The study's results indicate that effective communication, which is informal and open, greatly influences students' learning motivation and character development. Caregivers and foster parents who can build close relationships with students can create a conducive learning atmosphere so students feel appreciated and more active in learning. However, obstacles, such as differences in perception and cultural factors, can reduce communication effectiveness. These findings emphasize the importance of developing interpersonal communication skills to support improving the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools. This study is expected to provide caregivers and foster parents insight into creating a better learning environment.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to discover the problems that occur in the field by describing the problems or challenges teachers face in learning by applying the TaRL approach to mathematics subjects in class VI A SDN Banjar Agung 4. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The primary and secondary data explored in this study are primary and secondary. Research data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis was done through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through triangulation techniques. The results showed that several problems challenge teachers in implementing the TaRL approach, namely (1) limited teacher understanding of TaRL concepts and techniques, (2) heterogeneous classroom environment with a large number of students, namely 36 students, (3) limited time and costs and monitoring the implementation of the learning process, (4) lack of resource support such as the preparation of learning tools, and (5) limited training and socialization regarding process planning and learning evaluation using the TaRL approach. The solution that can be given is that the school or principal, as the leader in the basic education unit, needs to provide resource support in the form of providing training on the TaRL learning approach to teachers and financial support in the form of comfortable facilities, learning resources, and financial support.
