Abstract

Jesindo Mitra Prakarsa stores in Batam City include stores that offer a range of toys for kids. Lack of information about which items clients buy frequently or infrequently leads to an overabundance of inventory, which is a common issue for the store selling toys. Therefore, a projection that makes use of data or historical sales information is needed to assist the store in stocking the goods. The goal of this study is to use the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm to predict the sales of the most popular toys among kids in Jesindo Partners Prakarsa stores. Data will be gathered through observation techniques, in-store interviews, and literature reviews relevant to the study's subjects. In order to forecast sales for the following month, the author used the Euclidean Distance formula with a value of k=3 and RapidMiner software to predict sales of the best-selling product, Tricycle Happy. The formula had a target of seven products, but it was predicted to sell as many as six. Based on the results of RMSE testing, which showed a value achieved close to zero at 2.035 +/- 0.000 means, the author's algorithm matched or was effectively applied to this study.

Abstract

Distribution firms frequently encounter difficulties in forecasting distributor sales due to the absence of a well-organized and precise prediction system. Inaccurate sales forecasts can result in issues that disturb business operations. The objective of this study is to identify sales data variables through fuzzy Mamdani calculations to forecast distributor sales for the company. To solve the sales prediction challenge, this research utilizes MATLAB software. Numerical data is vital in data processing as the fuzzy Mamdani logic method necessitates numerical data for processing in MATLAB. Once the data conversion process is finished, the subsequent step is to implement it in MATLAB to derive research findings that involve input and output variables. Tests were performed using two approaches: manual calculations and MATLAB. In every test, both manual and MATLAB methods were employed for defuzzification. The findings from both methods showed a sales increase with the same value of 85, indicating consistency between the methods and validating the accuracy of the implemented fuzzy model. Utilizing the fuzzy Mamdani method and MATLAB implementation allows companies to forecast distributor sales with greater precision. This analysis assists companies in recognizing sales trends and developing effective strategies to boost distributor sales.

Abstract

In previous research that the author conducted on practical work implementation, the author created a system that can carry out attendance using Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) which will read each RFID Identification (ID) or Unique Identifier (UID) owned by each employee. The UID has previously been stored in the program so that it can be detected when it is registered. However, this system has a few shortcomings, namely that it has not been integrated with each other between the main office and branch offices, so the existing systems still stand alone. Apart from that, the monthly absenteeism recapitulation process is also not optimal because it cannot automatically calculate the number of attendances for each employee. Given the problems above, the author developed a system that had previously been created by integrating the two attendance devices with a Web-based database system so that the attendance data for each employee would be directly stored in the database. This data will later be used to facilitate monthly recapitulation for each employee. By integrating the device with a database, the storage carried is not easily lost, so it can be used at another time

Abstract

In recent years, the petshop industry has seen a significant increase. This is due to people's growing awareness of pet welfare and the need for specialized products for them. Product sales in petshops are not only influenced by customer preferences, but also by the diversity of pet breeds, which makes data collection and product stock management more complex. Therefore, predicting the products that are most in demand by customers is important. Data mining, as a part of computer science that focuses on extracting information from data, offers an effective way to analyze patterns and trends of product sales in petshops. In this study, Naive Bayes algorithm is used to predict the best-selling products in petshop. RapidMiner software was used to process the data in this study. Data processing with RapidMiner resulted in a prediction accuracy of 90.41%. Class precision for the prediction of hot-selling products is 88.24%, while for non-selling products is 90.00%. Class recall for the prediction of hot-selling products reaches 90.91%, while for products that are not in demand reaches 92.31%.

Abstract

Determining the right study program for prospective students is a very important first step in the higher education journey. Along with technological developments, the computer-based written examination (UTBK) method has become an increasingly popular and efficient choice for college entrance selection. This research aims to implement the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method in determining study programs for UTBK participants. The TOPSIS method was chosen because of its ability to accommodate various complex assessment criteria and provide more objective results. This research uses UTBK score data from several participants as a case study. Criteria considered include subject grades, participant interests, and study program capacity. Each criterion is given a weight according to its level of importance. The research results show that the TOPSIS method is able to provide study program recommendations that suit the profile of each participant effectively. It is hoped that the implementation of this method can help universities in selecting study programs more accurately and fairly, as well as assisting prospective students in choosing study programs that suit their potential and interests.
