Abstract

The transition toward renewable energy has emerged as a fundamental strategic response to mitigate the adverse effects of global climate change and to fulfill the urgent demand for sustainable energy systems worldwide. This study aims to empirically analyze the impact of renewable energy investment on economic growth in Indonesia. To achieve this objective, a quantitative approach is employed using a simple linear regression model. The analysis utilizes annual time series data spanning a fifteen-year period from 2010 to 2024. Within this empirical framework, the total installed capacity of renewable energy power plants is utilized as a measurable proxy for green investment, while the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) serves as the primary indicator of economic growth. The statistical estimation results demonstrate that an increase in the installed capacity of renewable energy significantly and positively affects the national GDP. These findings indicate that capital allocation toward green energy infrastructure does not hinder economic expansion but rather acts as a catalyst for value creation. Consequently, the study highlights the critical importance of formulating integrated governmental policies and providing targeted investment incentives. Such structural interventions are essential to accelerate an inclusive national energy transition, attract broader private sector participation, and ultimately ensure long-term sustainable economic development in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of business capital, selling price, and business duration on the income of broiler chicken traders in Bati-Bati District, Tanah Laut Regency. The phenomenon of broiler chicken trading in this area is important to examine due to intense competition among traders and fluctuating market demand. This research used primary data collected from 37 respondents through a census method. Multiple linear regression analysis using EViews version 12 was applied to examine the simultaneous and partial effects of the independent variables on trader income. The findings indicate that business capital, selling price, and business duration simultaneously affect income. Partially, only business capital has a significant positive effect, while selling price and business duration are not statistically significant. Business capital is identified as the dominant determinant of income, indicating that greater capital enables traders to maintain stock availability and respond to demand more effectively. These findings imply that strengthening access to business capital may support income improvement among broiler chicken traders.

Abstract

This study investigates the macroeconomic and demographic determinants of the Food Security Index (FSI) in South Kalimantan during the 2018–2024 period. Despite its strategic designation as one of Indonesia’s national food barns, the region faces persistent challenges in stabilizing local food security. Employing panel data regression analysis, specifically the Fixed Effect Model (FEM), this research evaluates the simultaneous and partial impacts of aggregate rice production, poverty rates, and population size on the regional FSI. The empirical findings reveal a critical macroeconomic anomaly: while the selected variables simultaneously influence the food security framework, rice production identified as the most dominant determinant that exhibits a statistically significant negative effect on the FSI. Similarly, the poverty rate demonstrates a significant negative impact, whereas population size remains statistically insignificant. This counterintuitive dynamic, where increased agricultural output paradoxically corresponds with declining regional food security, exposes severe structural bottlenecks within the supply chain. It strongly suggests that agricultural surpluses do not inherently translate into local food availability; rather, output is likely extracted through external market distributions, leaving the local population vulnerable due to constrained purchasing power. Consequently, this study concludes that achieving sustainable food security requires a fundamental policy shift. Rather than relying strictly on an output-centric agricultural paradigm that merely boosts harvest yields, regional policymakers must implement targeted economic interventions prioritizing poverty alleviation, equitable domestic distribution networks, and enhanced economic accessibility for marginalized communities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of Muslim-friendly tourism based on a green economy framework in SPTN Region II Pulang Pisau, Sebangau National Park. A mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design was employed, utilizing observations, in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and strategic analysis using SWOT (IFAS–EFAS) and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP). Informants were selected through purposive sampling based on expert judgment, involving seven key participants. The results indicate that the area is positioned in the hold and maintain quadrant (IFAS 2.51; EFAS 2.65), suggesting that development efforts should focus on strengthening fundamental aspects. Key potentials include the high biodiversity of the peatland ecosystem, strong support from conservation partners, and active community participation. However, major constraints include limited infrastructure, suboptimal halal facilities, and the high risk of forest and peatland fires. The AHP results identify priority strategies, including strengthening partnerships for fire mitigation (0.403), improving halal tourism facilities (0.321), and enhancing conservation-based branding (0.276). Therefore, development should be implemented in a gradual, collaborative, and adaptive manner to maintain a balance between ecological sustainability, spiritual needs, and economic development.

Abstract

The limitations of production optimization approaches in small-scale and household furniture industries generally fail to account for parameter stability under conditions of market uncertainty. Although linear programming (LP) has been widely applied to microenterprises in Indonesia, most studies focus solely on optimal solutions without examining parametric stability, thereby creating a research gap. This study was conducted in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara, using primary data from 72 business units. Two LP models based on the simplex method were formulated and analyzed using sensitivity and demand scenario approaches. The results indicate that the optimal solution is sensitive to changes in profit coefficients, particularly for doors and cabinets, which have a narrow stability range. Skilled labor is the primary constraint, while capital and raw materials are unconstrained. Scenario analysis indicates potential revenue fluctuations, necessitating a scenario-based adaptation framework to support evidence-based decision-making.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of multidimensional globalization on economic growth in ASEAN countries over the period 2019–2024. Using the KOF Globalisation Index, globalization is decomposed into economic, social, and political dimensions to capture its heterogeneous effects. Panel data estimation is conducted using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM), with System Generalized Method of Moments (System GMM) employed as a robustness check to address potential endogeneity. The results reveal that economic globalization and foreign direct investment have a positive and significant effect on economic growth, indicating the important role of trade integration and capital inflows in enhancing economic performance. In contrast, political globalization shows a negative and significant effect, supporting the existence of a globalization paradox, where deeper political integration may reduce domestic policy flexibility and hinder growth. Social globalization and labour force are not statistically significant. The System GMM results confirm the robustness and consistency of the main findings. These results highlight that globalization has asymmetric effects, implying that ASEAN countries need to adopt a selective and strategic globalization approach to promote sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

This study examines CO₂ emission decoupling in developing countries as a broader indicator of sustainable economic performance, not merely as emission reduction. Specifically, it analyzes the roles of green innovation, renewable energy consumption, and institutional quality in explaining whether economic growth can be increasingly separated from CO₂ emissions through technological capability, energy-system transition, and governance capacity. Using panel data from 34 developing countries over the period 2002–2021, the study applies the Tapio decoupling index to measure CO₂ emission decoupling status and transforms the resulting classification into an ordinal variable with three categories: negative decoupling, coupling, and decoupling. The determinants of decoupling status are analyzed using a panel generalized ordered logit model with average marginal effects estimation. The results show that green innovation significantly increases the probability of a country being in the decoupling category. Renewable energy consumption has no statistically significant effect. Institutional quality is negatively associated with decoupling, whereas its interaction with renewable energy is not statistically significant. Population has a significant negative effect on the probability of decoupling. Overall, the findings identify green innovation as a robust positive determinant of decoupling performance in developing countries, while the roles of renewable energy and institutional quality remain constrained in supporting low-carbon transition.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of education, health, mineral resources, forest resources, and institutional quality on economic development in North Sumatra. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to determine the impact of each independent variable on the dependent variable. The findings reveal that education, health, mineral resources, and institutional quality have a significant impact on economic development. In contrast, forest resources do not have a significant influence. This suggests that economic development is more heavily driven by human capital quality and institutional frameworks rather than a reliance on forest resources. Consequently, enhancing the quality of education and health, optimizing mineral resource management, and strengthening institutions are critical factors in accelerating regional economic development.

Abstract

Tobacco farming in Besuki Raya, East Java, demonstrates how environmental degradation in smallholder agrarian systems is shaped by market power, livelihood dependence, and hybrid institutional arrangements. This study examines how economic governance structures influence environmentally consequential production practices and environment–livelihood trade-offs in tobacco farming. The study was conducted in the Besuki Raya region of East Java, Indonesia, covering Jember, Lumajang, Bondowoso, and Banyuwangi as major tobacco-producing districts. A qualitative political–economic ethnographic design was employed. Data were collected between March and November 2025 through 54 in-depth interviews, eight focus group discussions involving 56 participants, 36 field observation visits, document analysis, and limited netnographic observation of six WhatsApp and Facebook farmer communities. Data were analysed using ATLAS.ti 23 through open, axial, and selective thematic coding. The findings show that formal regulations, market mechanisms, cooperatives, and patron–client relations stabilise short-term livelihoods while reproducing environmentally intensive farming. Warehouse-based grading and advance financing encourage chemical input use, accelerated production, and quality compliance because prices and debt repayment are determined after harvest. This study contributes to ecological economics by showing that environmental degradation is embedded in market governance rather than arising from isolated farmer behaviour or technical inefficiency alone.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between gender diversity and the stock prices of Islamic banks in Indonesia, as well as the effects of profitability, business size, and solvency. The study is motivated by the importance of fundamental performance in establishing the market value of Islamic banks, which is especially relevant given the growing emphasis on inclusive governance. Using panel data regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA), this study employs a quantitative technique to analyze four Islamic banks listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2020 to 2024. The findings show that all three variables have a significant effect on stock prices. Finding that gender diversity moderates these associations albeit negatively suggests that a greater proportion of female directors tends to mitigate the effect of fundamental variables on stock prices. These results suggest that in order to achieve the goal of increasing the capital market value of Islamic banks, it is essential to strategically manage the leadership roles of women.
