Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motivasi belajar dengan minat menjadi guru mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin JPTK FKIP UNS Surakarta Tahun Akademik 2011/2012, (2) Untuk mengetahui hubungan antara prestasi belajar dengan minat menjadi guru mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin JPTK FKIP UNS Surakarta Tahun Akademik 2011/2012, (3) Untuk mengetahui hubungan secara bersama- sama antara motivasi belajar dan prestasi belajar dengan minat menjadi guru mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin JPTK FKIP UNS Surakarta Tahun Akademik 2011/2012. Penelitian ini berbentuk kuantitatif dengan  menggunakan metode deskriptif korelasional. Populasi penelitian  ini adalah  mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin JPTK FKIP UNS Surakarta angkatan tahun 2009 sejumlah 56 mahasiswa. Sampel penelitian diambil 48 mahasiswa yang diambil menggunakan proportionate random sampling. Untuk memperoleh data prestasi belajar menggunakan metode dokumentasi, untuk memperoleh data motivasi belajar dan minat menjadi guru menggunakan metode angket. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis korelasi dan regresi linear ganda. Hasil analisis data yaitu: (1) Ada hubungan yang signifikan antara motivasi belajar dengan minat menjadi guru mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin JPTK FKIP UNS Surakarta Tahun Akademik 2011/2012. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil perhitungan pada n = 48 dan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh rx1y > r tabel atau 0,5182 > 0,284. (2) Ada hubungan yang signifikan   antara prestasi belajar dengan  minat menjadi guru mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin JPTK FKIP UNS Surakarta Tahun Akademik 2011/2012. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil perhitungan pada n = 48 dan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh rx1y > r tabel atau 0,5398 > 0,284. (3) Ada hubungan yang signifikan secara bersama- sama antara motivasi belajar dan prestasi belajar dengan minat menjadi guru mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Mesin JPTK FKIP UNS Surakarta Tahun Akademik 2011/2012. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil perhitungan pada dk pembilang = 2, dk penyebut = 45 dan taraf signifikansi 5% diperoleh Fhitung > F tabel atau 9,29 > 3,20.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of service quality in BLK Magelang regency. The method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) in an effort to improve its services, especially in the automotive field. This research was conducted in BLK Magelang, Central Java Province. This study is a survey with a sample of 48 respondents research with a total sampling. Data collection techniques in this research through interviews, observation, questionnaire, literature, and documentation. Hypothesis testing using t-test mean difference in the two right hands with a significance level of 5%. The results of this study that: 1) Improving the quality of service in Magelang regency BLK the method of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) through 18 consumer voice (voice of customer). Of 18 votes, based on the results of the CRS normalization can be seen there are 5 highest percentage values of 12.6%; 11.4%; 11.3%; 9.3%; and 9.3%. This fifth respectively are: Structuring a regular room, teachers are competent, service is available during business hours, neatness and cleanliness of the teachers, and the training schedule implemented on time, 2) Some things to consider institutions as technical requirements to improve service trainee security is guaranteed, the customer service is reached, teachers look neat, professional employees, the target is reached on time, 3) Based on QFD that the targets to be met to improve the quality of service is the professionalism of employees (1,305), Ease of consumers to obtain information (1,269), neatness of employees (1,21), professionalism of teachers (1,208), and the customer service is reached (1.18).

Abstract

The objective of this research is to improve skill and conceptual understanding on programing CNC TU-3A for twelfth grade level in SMK N 5 Surakarta by implementation of the drill learning method with CutViewer Software based. This research was belong to classroom action research. This research was implemented in two cycles, each cycle was composed of four stages, there was planning stage, action stage, observation and reflection. Every cycle is carried out in two meetings. The subjects of this research were twelfth grade level in SMK N 5 Surakarta. The data were collected from teacher and students. The techniques of data collection were observation, interview, and learning achievement test. The method of data validity were Expert Judgement and Construct validity. The resulting data were analyzed as quantitative descriptive and comparative descriptive. The result of this research showed that the implementation of the Drill learning method of CutViewer Software could improved skill and conceptual understanding of student on CNC TU-3A programing. At initial condition, the skill of the student was 45,31%, meanwhile the conceptual understanding of students was 35,23%, and the average score of learning result was 64,58. After the action of the first cycle, student?s skills increased to 73,44% and the conceptual understanding become 70,17% with the average score of learning result was 84,67. At the action of the second cycle, skill of students become 88,75% and the conceptual understanding increased to 89,77%, and the final average score of learning result was 92,52. The conclusion of this research is the implementation of the Drill learning method of CutViewer Software based could increase the skill and conceptual understanding of students on CNC lesson especially on CNC TU-3A programming.

Abstract

This  research  is  written  to  achieve  some  objectives  as  follows:  (1)  find  out  the alteration  of  ignition  timingtoward  torque  and  power  on  110  cc  Vega  R  motorcycle  year  of 2008. (2) find out the amount of torque and power  on 110 cc Vega R motorcycle year of 2008 after setting up the ignition timing.This  research  used  descriptive  quantitative  method.  The  sample  used  in  this  study  is 110 cc Vega R motorcycle year of 2008, engine numbered MH34D70028J737691. The data are obtainedfrom  the  amount  of  torque  and  power  by  using  premium  fuel  in  a  standard  ignition angle  (100BTDC/  Before  Top  Dead  Centre)  and  using  LPG  gas  fuel  performed  on  standard ignition angle (100BTDC), advanced ignition angle (130 BTDC) and backward ignition angle (70BTDC). Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that: (1) There are differences in torque and power on 110 cc Vega R motorcycle Year of 2008 using LPG in a standard ignition angle (100BTDC), advanced ignition timing (130BTDC) and the ignition timing backdated (70BTDC).  (2)  The  torque  producedbythe  motorcycleusingLPG  gas  fuel  inadvancedignition timing(130BTDC)  is higherthan theothervariationsignition timing, that is 7.31 Nm at 6088 rpm engine speed. Torque dropped 1.34 Nm of the resulting torque by motorcycles using premium fuel  in  standard  ignition  timing  is  8.65  Nm  at  5337  rpm  engine  speed,  (3)  The  power  is produced  by  the  motorcycle  using  LPG  gas  fuel  in  advanced  ignition  timing  (130BTDC)  is higher than the other variations ignition timing, that is 6,9 HP in 7591 rpm engine speed.  The power  dropped  0.9  HP  of  the  resulting  power  by  motorcycles  using  premium  fuel  in  ignition time standard of 7.8 HP at 7344 rpm engine speed. (4) Time optimal ignition in 110 cc Vega R motorcycle Year of 2008 using LPG gas fuel is 130BTDC or advanced ignition timing. (5) The effective  engine  speed  of  110  cc  Vega  R  motorcycleyear  of  2008  that  used  LPG  gas  fuel  in advanced ignition timing is 6000 rpm up to 8000 rpm

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) the effect of the number of inlets on the toughness in the pulley; (2) the effect of the number of inlets on the toughness in the casting of pulley from gray cast iron; (2) the effect of the number of inlets on the hardness in the casting of pulley from gray cast iron; and (3) the effect of the number of inlets on the micro structure in the casting of pulley from cast iron and sand mold. This research was conducted in the Engineering Material Laboratory of Diploma Program of Vocational School, Gadjah Mada University. Three types of number of inlet were used in the casting of pulley from gray cast iron, namely: one-inlet type, two-inlet type, and three-inlet type by using wheel (ring) gate in the casting inlet system. The parameter of input in the data analysis consisted of the tests on toughness, hardness, and micro structure. The data of this research were analyzed by using the descriptive data analysis in which the results of the experiment were observed directly and analyzed and then the conclusion of this research was drawn. The results of this research are as follows: (1) the toughness of pulley with one-inlet type is higher due to slow congealment in such a way that more ferrite is collected; (2) ferrite has soft and ductile characteristics; (3) the hardness of pulley with three-inlet type is 205.8 VHN which is higher than that of pulley with two-inlet type (201.8 VHN) and that of pulley with one-inlet type (196.8 VHN); (4) the hardness of pulley with three-inlet type is higher due to quicker congealment in such a way that the perlite formed is spread more evenly and the amount of graphite formed is getting smaller; (4) perlite has hard and brittle characteristics. The microstructure of pulley specimen in this research is hard and strong perlite matrix. The structure of graphite and ferrite in the pulley specimen with one-inlet type is greater in amount than that in the pulley specimen with two-inlet type and that in the pulley specimen with three-inlet type. On the basis of the results of the research, a conclusion is drawn that the value of toughness of pulley with one-inlet type is 0.055 J/mm2 which is greater than that of toughness of pulley with two-inlet type (0.053 J/mm2) and that of toughness of pulley with three-inlet type (0.052 J/mm2).

Abstract

Serat ijuk dapat digunakan sebagai bahan gesek alternatif kampas rem sepeda motor. Dalam penelitian ini, pada komposisi serat ijuk 55%, serbuk kuningan 15%, MgO 20% dan resin 10% mempunyai nilai kekerasan yang paling mendekati dengan kampas rem pembanding yaitu sebesar 19,5 HBN. Pada spesimen kampas rem 4 dengan komposisi serat ijuk 25%, serbuk kuningan 45%, MgO 20% dan resin 10% mempunyai nilai keausan yang paling mendekati dengan kampas rem pembanding mempunyai yaitu sebesar 0,087 x 10-7 mm2/kg. Dengan melakukan variasi komposisi akan didapat nilai keausan dan kekerasan yang paling optimum. Variasi komposisi serat ijuk sangat berpengaruh terhadap nilai keausan dan nilai kekerasan spesimen kampas rem.

Abstract

The aims of this research were: (1) To examine the effects of variated composition of corncob powder, brass powder (Cu-Zn), magnesium oxide (MgO), and polyester resin composites on the friction coefficient value in brake pads braking performance test by using Prony brake engine; (2) To investigate which brake pads compositions of corncob powder, brass powder (Cu-Zn), magnesium oxide (MgO), and polyester resin composites that has the highest friction coefficient value; (3) To compare the braking performance of corncob powder brake pads with Nissin brake pads. This research used descriptive and quantitative method. The sampling process was done by making three variations of brake pads compositions. Data were obtained by braking performance test using Prony brake engine then calculated using Prony brake formula. The calculation results were presented in tables and graphs, and then analyzed. The conclusions based on this research were: (1) The variated material compositions of brake pads gave effects on the friction coefficient value of the brake pads. This was indicated by the difference values of friction coefficient values for each brake pads compositions. The friction coefficient value of brake pads composition I which consisted of 20% corncob powder, 40% brass powder, 20% MgO, and 20% polyester resin was 0.342. The friction coefficient value of brake pads composition II which consisted of 30% corncob powder, 30% brass powder, 20% MgO, and 20% polyester resin was 0.395. The friction coefficient value of brake pads composition III which consisted of 40% corncob powder, 20% brass powder, 20% MgO, and 20% polyester resin was 0.354; (2) The most optimal brake pads composition which had the highest friction coefficient value was composition II 0.395 with a composition of 30% corncob powder, 30% brass powder, 20% MgO, and 20% polyester resin; (3) The brake pads with corncob powder material had a good braking performance. The friction coefficient values of all brake pads with corncob powder compositions were higher than Nissin brake pads.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a correlation between achievement entrepreneurship and industrial work practicum with interest in entrepreneurship. The population consisted of 137 students Skills Program Teknik Kendaraan Ringan and a sample of 100 students. Analysis of the data using an show that (1) students have achievements entrepreneurial and industrial work practicum as well as interest in entrepreneurship is good, (2) there is a negative correlation with the company's interest in entrepreneurship, (3) there is a significant positive correlation between industrial work practicum with interest in entrepreneurship students, (4) simultaneously there is a significant correlation between achievement entrepreneurship and industrial work practicum with students' interest in entrepreneurship. It is recommended that the school invites students has successful entrepreneurship can motivate students.

Abstract

Purposes of the research are: (1) Knowing effect of ignition booster application on exhaust gas emission of CO and HC of Honda Supra X 125 2007 motorcycle; (2) knowing effect of methanol addition in premium fuel on exhaust gas emission of CO and HC of Honda Supra X 125 2007; (3) knowing interaction of effects of ignition booster application and methanol addition in premium fuel on exhaust gas emission of CO and HC of Honda Supra X 125 2007.The research is performed in Laboratory of Machine Engineering Education of Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Sebelas Maret University of Surakarta.  The research uses experiment method in attempts of knowing exhaust gas emission of every experimentation treatment. Sample of the research is Honda Supra X 125 2007 motorcycle with machine number: JB51E1941073. Sample is taken by using purposive sampling technique by taking one sample of motorcycle, namely Honda Supra X 125 2007 from population of typical Honda Supra X 125 2007 motorcycles. Data analysis of the research is a statistical analysis by using 4 x 4 Two-Way Anava.Results of the research were: (1) There was effect of ignition booster application on exhaust gas emission of CO and HC of Honda Supra X 125 2007. It is indicated by result of CO data analysis showing Fobservation= 49.04 > Ftable = 4.46 and result of HC data analysis with Fobservation = 11.01 > Ftable = 4.46 at significance degree of 1%; (2) There was effect of methanol addition in premium fuel on exhaust gas emission of CO and HC of Honda Supra X 125 2007. It was proved by results of CO data analysis test with Fobservation = 940.51 > Ftable = 4.46 and results of HC data analysis showing Fobservation=19.90 > Ftable = 4.46 at significance degree of 1%; (3) There was an effect interaction of ignition booster application and methanol adding in premium fuel on exhaust gas emission of CO and HC of Honda Supra X 125 2007. It was indicated by result for CO data analysis showing Fobservation=11.10 > Ftable = 2.94 and for HC was Fobservation = 20.97 > Ftable = 2.94 at significance degree of 1%.

Abstract

This study was conducted because of the differences in students' interest in the practice and theory subjects. Students are more interested in the practice than theory lessons. According to Muhibbin Syah interest is a great inclination toward something. Interest is something that are influenced by internal factors and external factors in human beings. The purpose of this study was to describe the factors that influence students' interest towards practical subjects and the reasons why students are less enthusiastic on the subjects of theory. This study was held at SMK Negeri 2 Karanganyar. This study used a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Sources of data in this study were the teacher, the eleventh grade students and learning environment in SMK N 2 Karanganyar. The data collection technique were using the questionnaire, observation, interviews, documentation or records. The validity of the data were using triangulation methods and sources. Analysis of the data in this study was the interactive analysis model. The results showed that some of the internal factors that affect student interest are attention span which is high with 57,14%, curiosity which is high with 54.76%, motivation which is very high with 52.38% and the students? needs which is high with 70.24%. External factors that affect student interest are support from parents which is high with 61.91%, teachers which is high with 66.67%, friends which is 53.57% or high, school?s facilities is moderate with 40,48% and social environment which is high with 64.29%. The reason students are less interested in the theoretical lessons are (1) teachers, teachers are often too monotonous in teaching, are underestimating students, and are too rapid in conveying the learning materials, (2) motivation, most of the students assume the practice is more important, (3) friends, students are easily affected to their friend demeanor.
