Abstract

A tourism village needs to develop attractions based on nature and education in order to become a sustainable tourism village. In Bilebante Village, the development of natural tourist attractions focuses on the Forbidden River area because of its beauty and a natural tourist destination that the community is proud of. The strategy that involves stakeholders through educational tours is to build a camping ground and several other programs. This community service activity is interested in the process of initiating a camping ground that has been planned for a long time by the tourism manager of this village. The process of making this camping ground uses open discussion method which involves all elements of society in Bilebante. The result is the provision of holding areas at river ban areas; creation of signposts to clarify tourists' activities during the camping period; and providing English lessons to increase the intensity of involvement of the Bilebante community, especially the younger generation. The results of this dedication had a positive impact on the development of nature-based and educational tourism in Bilebante Village evidenced by the creation of a camping ground in the Forbidden River area.

Abstract

Belanting Village is a settlement spanning 6,030 hectares located at the base of Mount Rinjani and situated at the easternmost tip of Lombok Island. The village boasts a picturesque landscape with rice fields and hills surrounding it. However, beneath this beauty, Belanting Village faces various challenges, one of which is natural disasters. This village falls within an area identified as prone to landslides according to Regional Regulation No. 12 of 2012 regarding the Spatial Plan of East Lombok Regency for the period 2012-2032. This is substantiated by a history of disasters covered by the mass media and testimonies from Belanting residents, ranging from flash floods, earthquakes, droughts, fires, and more. Given that a significant portion of the village's population consists of newcomers not accustomed to mountainous regions, there is a need to enhance the community's knowledge and understanding in facing disasters. It's crucial for them to know what actions to take, avoid, and how to ensure their safety in case of any unforeseen calamities. To address these challenges, the UNRAM PMD Community Service team has undertaken non-structural disaster mitigation measures. These activities are encompassed within a community service program known as "Kuliah Kerja Nyata" which spans 54 days from June 20th to August 12th, 2023, with 45 effective working days in Belanting Village, Sambelia Subdistrict, East Lombok Regency. The focus of this non-structural disaster mitigation is Belanting Village, identified as a disaster-prone area. The methodology utilized in this endeavor is divided into two phases: preparation and implementation, involving survei and field observation methods, as well as interviews, lectures, and discussions (question-and-answer sessions). The primary target audience for these activities is the general population of Belanting Village. The outcomes of these efforts include the creation of disaster-prone area maps and the determination of evacuation routes, the installation of evacuation signage, as well as the socialization and education on disaster mitigation for the residents of Belanting Village.

Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer is one type of fertilizer that is made in a natural way, namely through a fermentation process to produce a solution of the decay results of the materials used. Botanical pesticides are a type of organic pesticide made from organic materials which are efficacious for controlling pests in plants. The problems found in the agricultural sector in Monta Baru Village include dependence on the use of chemical fertilizers and pest attacks on rice plants. For this reason, efforts or solutions are needed to suppress these problems. One effort that can be done is to use liquid organic fertilizers and botanical pesticides on plants. The first step is to provide socialization related to liquid organic fertilizer and botanical pesticides to farmers. Next is the application of liquid organic fertilizer and botanical pesticides to the rice plants. This activity was carried out in the Monta Baru Village by involving farmer groups, Woja sub-district BPP, and the Monta Baru community. Both stages of the activity were carried out smoothly and successfully. Evidenced by the enthusiasm of the farmers in participating in socialization activities and the application of liquid organic fertilizer and botanical pesticides.

Abstract

Plastic waste is the largest contributor to waste on Earth. With the rapid development of industries and the production of various goods, whether they are food or other products, plastic waste is inevitable. Plastic waste takes a very long time to decompose, so when it accumulates, it becomes a waste that harms the natural ecosystem, both in the oceans and on land. The issues related to waste are concerning, especially in densely populated communities. With high population density comes a significant amount of waste and residue generated by the population.Sometimes, the lack of specific attention from the government regarding how to address plastic waste in society can lead to negative consequences. These consequences may include flooding, clogged waterways, and increased mosquito populations due to the accumulation of waste. This situation highlights the need to find solutions or alternatives to address the plastic waste problem in densely populated communities. Various solutions and alternatives could involve managing plastic waste to create valuable products, such as transforming it into eco-bricks that benefit society. Gili Indah Village is a tourist destination facing issues caused by the accumulation of household plastic waste. This situation presents an opportunity to address the waste problem. The KKN (Community Service Program) group from Mataram University is dedicated to providing solutions and contributions to the community in tackling the plastic waste issue by transforming it into eco-bricks.

Abstract

Sukadana Village, Bayan District, North Lombok Regency is a village that has abundant resources such as honey, cassava, fish, cashew nuts, corn, and so on. One of the mainstay commodities is honey and cassava. However, the abundance of available potential has not been optimally utilized by residents. Like the less attractive packaging used in Trigona Honey products. In addition, the lack of product innovation resulting from processed cassava makes cassava have a low selling value so an increase in agricultural products needs to be accompanied by appropriate and efficient marketing. The lack of innovation and creativity of the residents is an obstacle to increasing agricultural output in Sukadana Village. Therefore, we have the opportunity to provide innovations to improve agricultural output, such as innovating packaging for Trigona Honey products, innovating cassava agricultural products, and marketing outreach to MSMEs in Sukadana Village. It is hoped that with this, residents will be moved to continue businesses related to these two products.
