Abstract

This study aims to identify family relationship values that occur in the Enola Holmes movie. This type of research is a descriptive qualitative study. The data of the research are in the form of observations on Enola Holmes movie which are equipped with the stories in the movie. However, in this study the researcher only analyzes what types of family relationship values occurred in the Enola Holmes movie and the explanation about each value. The results of this study are that there are seven bonding values in family relationship according to Van-wel’s theory, namely attachment, commitment, interdependence, closeness, trust, intimacy, and love. Not only that, the conflict values also occur in this movie based on Pecchioni and Nussbaum’s theory. These values include aggression, disagreement, violence, arguments, and conflict tactics. The number of values in this movie is almost balanced between the positive values (bonding values) and the negative values (conflict values).

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of the Cooperative Learning Method to students' listening comprehension. This study used a quantitative approach with pre-experimental design with a one group pre-test post-test Method. The research sample was taken by purposive sampling technique with a total of 30 students in grade 10 majoring in Culinary Class. This data analysis was carried out using a two-sample independent T-test with significance (sig)>0.05. Student learning outcomes after using the Cooperative Learning Method on Listening Comprehension showed an increase with an average score of 84.94. In the analysis of data, the results of significance (2-tailed) 0.00 < 0.05, and it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the Cooperative Learning Method to Listening comprehension of grade 10 students majoring in Culinary. The results of this research can increase knowledge and understanding of listening learning Methods that are innovative, creative, and not boring. In this study, researchers carried out pre-experimental research at SMK PGRI 2 Kediri in tenth grade Culinary 2 with a Cooperative Learning learning Method. SMK PGRI 2 Kediri is located on Jl. K. H. Abdul Karim No. 05 Kediri. Researchers use a quantitative approach to conduct research.

Abstract

This study is about the speech acts used at celebrities’  conversation program in KGRE. The writer tries to analyze the forms and the meaning of utterances used by the participants in celebrities conversations program of KGRE.’ The writer uses Austin’s theory to analyze the kinds of speech acts. He uses Yule’s and Searle’s theory to analyze the forms of the utterances and the meaning of utterances. The writer uses Prsst program 4027 to analyze the intonation uses by the participants in the conversation. The result of this study shows that the participants use three kinds of speech acts. They are locution, illocution and perlocution. He participants use Yule’s three kinds of utterances. They are declarative, interrogative, and imperative. Declarative and interrogative are found in every fragment. While, imperative is only found in fragment 14.  All participants use two kinds of utterance meanings. They are directive and representative. This kind of utterance meaning is found in every fragment. After analyzing the utterances of the conversation, the writer finds that the participant use falling, flat and rising intonation.

Abstract

In Society 5.0, Indonesia adapts education for critical thinking and innovation. Learning emphasizes life skills and collaboration for skilled human resources. Global competencies like communication and critical thinking are crucial. Social comppetence are vital for succes. Approaches like music therapy and democratic classrooms contribute, while MBKM, aligned with independent learning, enhances social competence through collaborative Teaching Campus activities.This quantitative study at Unirow examines the impact of Teaching Campus activities within the Merdeka Learning Campus program on students'' social competence that consist of 10 students were divided into two groups. A specially designed social competence scale assessed communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and patriotism. Descriptive statistics and t-test analysis compared social competence differences between participating and non-participating students.The study examines the impact of the Teaching Campus program on students'' social competence, comparing participants and non-participants. Demographic data reveals diversity in the participating group. The analysis indicates a significant positive influence on social competence, emphasizing the program''s role in fostering communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Teacher-student relationships and family patterns are also highlighted as crucial factors in social competence development.The study affirms the significant impact of the Campus Teaching program on students'' social competence, crucial for Society 5.0 and academic success. The findings provide a valuable basis for future research and policy initiatives. Caution is advised in generalizing the results beyond the specific context of English Language Education at Universitas PGRI Ronggolawe Tuban.

Abstract

ChatGPT interacts realistically and can answer follow-up questions, admit mistakes, challenge incorrect premises, and reject inappropriate requests. However, its use raises ethical and practical issues, such as the potential to increase inequalities in the educational system. This study aimed to determine the use and the impact of ChatGPT on students' writing abilities. The approach used in this research is a descriptive quantitative approach using a questionnaire. The findings showed that The participants mostly gave neutral responses in several questions, indicating that they use ChatGPT passively. However, in other questions students gave positive and negative responses.   Keywords: Artificial Intelligence, ChatGPT, Students’ Writing Learning

Abstract

This study aims to know the Contrastive Analysis Between English And Indonesian Suffixes In “The Rainbow Troops” Novel. This study was design in content analysis qualitative research because the object of the study was a novel. Moreover, as the data was in the form of words and field notes, so the data were analysed qualitatively. The researcher also conducted the analysis used contrastive analysis to more focus on differences and similarities of English and Indonesian suffixes. The instrument used to collect the data is the form of checklist. Based on the background of the case above, this study is conducted to analyze kinds of English and Indonesian suffixes and also analyze differences and similarities between English and Indonesian suffixes The result of this study showed in term on kinds of English and Indonesian suffixes are: a. Noun (-acne, -ence, -er, -or, -ist, -ian, -tion, -tion, -ness, ion, -ing, -ment, -ity, -ism, -dom, -ship, -ent, -ary, -ure, -tude, -hood, -eer, logy, -age, -ant); b. Verb (-ize/-ise, -ate, -ify, -en); c. Adverb (-ly) and; d. Adjective (al, -ar, -ic, -ical, -able/-ible, -ous, -ful, -less, -ish, -ed, -ive, -er, -ate,-ent, est). As for the Indonesian suffixes there are: a. Noun (-an, -is, -isasi, -isme, -itas, -wan/wati, -man); b. Verb (-an, -i, -kan); c. Adjective (-an, -al, -if, -is, -i, -iah). The result about the differences and similarities of suffixes between English and Indonesian suffixes in “The Rainbow Troops” Novel are: first the difference in English suffixes, the researcher only find any adverb (-ly, lovely, politely, wisely, etc). As for the Indonesian suffixes in “Laskar Pelangi” is nominal which include: (-an, jutaan, ribuan ratusan, etc). The similarities of suffixes English and Indonesian have three similarities, there are: Noun, Adjective and Verb.

Abstract

Folklore has several similarities and differences, especially in the folklore of Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih and the fairy tale of Vasilisa The Beautiful, even though the two stories come from different countries. In finding the similarities and differences between the two folktales, the researcher uses a structural and comparative literary approach. This study aims to describe the similarities and differences between the two folktales. The method used in this research is a descriptive method. Data were analyzed using a qualitative approach with more emphasis on content analysis techniques. The approach used to analyze the two folktales is a structural approach and a comparative study. The results of the study show that the folklore of Bawang Merah and Bawang Putih and Vasilisa The Beautiful has several storylines, but has a similar conflict through the role of the stepmother which is represented through an evil character.
