Abstract

Analysis of water quality and skin disorder complaint  from water users of Siak river in Duku River Port, Tanjung Rhu village, Limapuluh sub-district Pekanbaru City in 2012. Siak river is one of the biggest river in Pekanbaru City and be a source of water by the  society in Tanjung Rhu village. The reduction of water quality in Siak river was caused by the effect of waste disposal from industries activity and domestic waste along the river. The use of  polluted water may cause health problem for water users, one of the health problem is related to skin disorder. The aim of this study were to analysis of water quality and skin disorder complaint  from water users of Siak river in Duku River Port, Tanjung Rhu village, Limapuluh sub-district Pekanbaru City in 2012. Type of this research was descriptive with the population for 470 persons and the number of sample was 82 persons. Sample taking techniques was done with choice in non-random sampling, namely accidental sampling. The results of the research conducted in the were Siak River by physical parameters, chemistry, and microbiology, show that there three parameters that exceed the water quality standard based on PP. 82 Year 2001 on the Management Quality of Water and Water Pollution Control, the parameters TSS, BOD and COD. The study of 82 respondents, there were 18 respondents (22%) who had complaints of skin disorders. Based on these results, it can be suggested to the government to control the disposal of waste from industries in accordance with applicable regulations, and conduct counseling to communities for do not use the Siak River water until the quality of water meets the health requirements. Abstract

Correlation between basic sanitary condition and Diarrhea with the water quality in Sukaraja Subdistrict Medan Maimun District 2012. Diarrhea on Deli river users was fairly high. The cause was suspected by unhealthy basic sanitation and people’s habits in using river water as water source. The  study aimed to analyze the correlation between condition of basic sanitation and diarrheaon Deli river users and to know Deli water riverquality. The study was conducted by descriptive method with cross sectional study design. This research conducted along the riverside area of Deli on Sukaraja village Medan Maimun Sub District with 59 housewives sample.The result showed there was correlation between sanitation of water resources (p=0,024), family latrines (p=0,016), garbage disposal (p=0,045) and diarrhea, and there was no correlation between sanitation of waste water treatment (p=0,050) and diarrhea. From the results oflaboratory tests,river water quality in upstream area did not exceed the the specified threshold value, such as temperature, nitrate, selenium, and E. coli. According to PP no. 82 tahun 2001, while in middle and downstream area number of E. Coli was foundhad exceeded the specified threshold value. Based on the result of study, Deli river in middle and downstream area had contaminated by feces and there was a significant correlation betweenbasic sanitation and diarrhea. Suggested forLocal Government Medan District to be more intensive on water supply and environmental health program and people to care about their basic sanitation. Abstract

Analysis the Amount of Insecticide Residue Organophosphate Group on Cabbage (Brassica oleracea)After Washing and Boiling in Dolat Rakyat Village Karo Regency 2012.Insecticide was known to be potentially dangerous to consumers. Risk of insecticide use was insecticide residue may be persist on agricultural products, such as cabbage.The purpose of this research was to know farmer’s insecticide application, insecticide residue on cabbage in Dolat Rakyat Village Karo Regency,and the effectivenes of various chemical solution to reduce the residue.This research was a simple descriptive. The method used was applicable in the examination of laboratory on cabbage and interview using a questionnaire to 3farmers who plant cabbages.The Result showed that the type of insecicides used by farmers was organophosphate and diamida group. Dosage used was appropriate with the regulation with 15 times of spray and interval spray before haverst was less 1 week.On haverst,residue on cabbage was chlorpiryphos with 0,698 mg/kg. Washing with running water reduce the residue by 76,36%, soaking with DWC’s water by 22,64%, vinegar solution by 35,53%, salt solution by 65,90%, bicarbonat solution by 40,97%, lemon solution by 46,99%, washing followed by boilling by 76,93%.It can be concluded that residue on cabbage obtained from  Dolat Rakyat village was not exceeded it’s allowable MRL.Washing followed by boiling was found comparatively more effective than washing alone in dislodging the residue.It had been suggested tofarmers toapplyinsecticidesin accordancewith the regulation andconsumers torecognize the importance ofwashing processbefore consumption. Abstract

Fertilization System and Laboratory Analysis to the Content of Nitrate on Broccoli Vegetable (Brassica oleracea cv. brocolli ) in the Agricultural of Desa Merdeka Kecamatan Merdeka Kabupaten Karo 2012. Broccoli is a popular vegetable that many people like very much. To have a good grow is demanded much more fertilizer. Naturally, a green vegetable contained Nitrate. To supply fertilizer with more and coutinuosly, resulted in the nature content in Broccoli going to rise up. Nitrate comprising Nitrogen (N) and Oxygen (O). In human body, Nitrate transfered into Nitrite and then got reacted with Hemoglobin forming Methenoglonbine may  cause miss oxygen (hypoxsemia). In blood, it cause Nitrosamid or stomach cancer. On babies well known as “blues babies”. The objective of this study is to determine the requirement in applying fertilizer for Broccoli vegetable comprising of frequency in fertilizing, type and dosage of fertilizer, the method applying the fertilizer, space of plant for fertilizer, as well as to know total content of Nitrate on Broccoli vegetable. This study adopted descriptive survey research with spectroguan Nova Go method. In this case is this case is to count the content of Nitrate compared to standard content of nitrate refers to the ADI ( Acceptable Daily Intake )of the European Commission’s Scientific Committee For Food 1995 namely 3,65 mg/kg. The result of study showed that all  sample as Broccoli vegetable fulfilled the requirement an not exceeding 50 mg/litre. Total fertilizer to apply also not exceeding as standard as determined for chemical fertilizer 1.4 ton per hectare and compost 2 ton per hectare. Frequency of fertilizing not exceeding standard. Noted 6 farmers applied fertilizer on  morning and its plant distance far fertilizer less than 10-25 cm. It is concluded the content of Nitrate on Broccoli vegetable is not exceeding threshold and the pattern of  planting by farmers is not different from standard, it is suggested to everybody be carefull to consume the broccoli vegetables in higher sized and in light green color. Abstract

Comparison levels of carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in the ambient air depend on of Angsana tree (Pterocarpus indicus) in the some road in Medan city in 2012. The main pollutant produced by vehicles is carbon monoxyde (CO) and nitrogen dioxyde (NO2). Carbon monoxida (CO) and nitrogen dioxyde (NO2) is a parameter change in air quality, in case of eleveted levels of this materials in the air exceeds the quality standars that have been set can cause health problems for humans. The aim of this research was analyize concentrate of carbon monoxyde (CO) and nitrogen dioxyde (NO2) ambient on highways based on the existence of Angsana tree (Pterocarpus indicus). The result of research the highest concentration of carbon monoxyde (CO) was found on the highways planted Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus) is Jl. A.H Nasution and on highways that are not planted Angsana (pterocarpus indicus) is Jl. Asia 16.033 ug/Nm³ and the lowest concentratin of carbon monoxyde (CO) was found on the highways planted Angsana (pterocarpus indicus) is Jl. Brigjend Katamso 4.581 ug/Nm³. The highest concentration of nitrogen dioxyde (NO2) was found on the highways are not planted Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus) is Jl. S. Parman 29,78 ug/Nm³ and the lowest concentration of nitrogen dioxyde (NO2) was found on the highway planted Angsana (Pterocarpus indicus) is Jl. A.H Nasution 9,22 ug/Nm³. In could be concluded that concentration of carbon monoxyde (CO) on the highway planted Angsana trees (Pterocarpus indicus) and on roads in which there was no Angsana tree planted was similar, the highest concentration of nitrogen dioxyde (NO2) was found on the highway that are not planted Angsana tree (Pterocarpus indicus) planted. For the reason, it would be nescessary to grow some trees that can absorb excessive gas carbon monoxyde (CO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) especially on roads in which the passing through vehicles are very active. Abstract

Hygiene Sanitation Implementation and Examination of Drinking Water Quality on Drinking Water Stands on Padang in 2012. Refill water was one of important water drinking resource used by people. In order to keep the water being safe therefor need a sanitation hygiene execution effort of drinking water stand.The Purpose of this research was to determine the execution of sanitation hygiene and nitrate level on drinking water stand. The method used in this research was observational and laboratory examination by used observation sheets and laboratory examination on 24 sample which selected by random sampling. The research was a survey and the result presented in a frequency distribution table.The result showed that 12 depot water stand (50%) was not qualified on drinking water stand sanitation hygiene. Most of drinking water stand was not qualified on internal supervision amounted 17 drinking water stand (70,8%). Almost all of drinking water stand was not qualified on licensing amounted 20 depot water stand (83,3%). 8 depot water stand (33,3%) was not qualified on microbiologic for drinking water. Nitrate level on basic and drinking water was qualified the nitrate level qualification. The conclusion of this research were most of drinking water stand not qualified for sanitation hygiene, internal supervision, and licensing. Some part of was not qualified on microbiologic then nitrate content was qualified at all samples of drinking water stand. There are recommended for the drinking water stand to executing sanitation hygiene. And, government should to implement external supervision then sanitation hygiene execution of drinking water stand would be good. Keywords: Sanitation, Supervision, Licensing, Water Quality

Abstract

Hygiene and sanitasion roro Dumai port terminal in 2012. Port of a node meeting or activity in and out of boats, goods and people and the spread of disease as well as the transformation of the gate. Ports is a global threat to public health due to the presence of quarantine diseases, new infectious diseases, and infectious diseases recur old. So to achieve a healthy harbor, then please be aware of hygiene and sanitation aspects of port terminals.This study aims to determine the hygiene and sanitation Roro Dumai port terminals. This type of research is descriptive simple to see the picture of hygiene and sanitation  Roro port terminal Dumai City in 2012. The result showed that water supply, sewage disposal facilities, waste disposal, vector eradication and food sanitation cafeteria / restaurant in the port roro terminal does not meet the health requirement. Water supply, sewage disposal, garbage disposal, vector eradication and food sanitation in Roro port terminals do not meet the health requirement. Suggested to port health office class III should make efforts to improve hygiene and sanitation in Dumai City Roro port terminal, the employee should implement and run the program of hygiene and sanitation to achieve a qualified health port and port health office class III should supervise the implementation efforts hygiene and sanitation in Dumai City Roro port terminals in order to improve and achieve healthy harbor. Abstract

The implementation of occupational health efforts program at Pos UKK in the workplace of Kampung Bugis Health Center Tanjungpinang City Riau Islands. The main program of occupational health efforts Pos UKK is to provide preventive and promotive services to the workers members. Pos UKK cadre expected to implement health efforts program well. The problem in this research is, how the occupational health efforts program implemented at Pos UKK in the workplace of Kampung Bugis Health Center. This research is a qualitative research method, in order to get more in-depth information about the implementation of occupational health efforts program at Pos UKK. Informants in this study were 6 people, which 2 people from the Pasir Putih Pos UKK (chairman and members), 2 people from Sehat Sejahtera Pos UKK (chairman and members), and 2 people of the Sejahtera Mandiri  Post UKK (chairman and members). The results showed that the occupational health efforts program in Pos UKK Kampung Bugis Health Centre workplace still held by the cadre. However, the implementation wasn’t optimal. The main program of occupational health efforts Pos UKK (health promotion and preventive) can not be carried out by a cadre of Pos UKK. Pos UKK cadres can only perform curative service. This is due to lack of knowledge and understanding of the role and function of cadres Pos UKK especially about health promotion and preventive. This condition also can not be separated from the role of Kampung Bugis health centers to the Pos UKK auxiliaries.The small sources of financial inclusion in Pos UKK in the workplace of Kampung Bugis Health Center also cause this condition.  Coaching and training on the role and functions of Pos UKK cadres (primarily promotion and preventive) are continuous and sustainable to be implemented by the health centers Kampung Bugis in order to improve the knowledge and skills the cadres of Pos UKK. Landing and assisted  health workers of Kampung Bugis Health Centre need to upgrading to the successful occupational health efforts program implemented at Pos UKK in the workplace of Kampung Bugis Health Center. Abstract

Factors Related With the Use of Family Latrines and the Incidence of Diarrhea in the Village of Tualang Sembilar Bambel Southeast Aceh District in 2012. One of the health efforts by community  is to prevation basic sanitation facilities. One of the  basic sanitation facilities in the community latrine. For that, keep in mind the factors related with the use of latrines. One of the diseases that can be generated is a diarrheal disease. Diarrhea can be defined absolutely or relatively. Absolute diarrhea is defined as more than five bowel movements a day or liquid stools. Relative diarrhea is defined as an increase in the number of bowel movements per day or an increase in the looseness of stools compared with an individual's usual bowel habit. In diarrhea, bowel patients more than usual, the diarrhea may be defined as a bowel movement more than three times. The purpose of this study is the to analysis factors related with the use of latrines and the incidence of diarrhea in the village of Tualang Sembilar Bambel Southeast Aceh district in 2012. The method used in this research is  analytic descriptive research with cross sectional design. The samples in this study were 71 samples using random sampling technic , the sampling technique is done by random sampling. The results showed that 46.5% of respondents did not work; 33.8% of low-income respondents; 64.8% of respondents knowledgeable about ; 66.2% of respondents are not good; 52.1% latrine conditions do not qualify; 52, 1% use pit latrines 40.8% no 59.2% 53.5% instead diarrhea diarrhea 46.5%. The results of the statistical test using Chi-square tests were , knowledge, attitudes, and conditions of latrines have a significant relationship with the use of latrines and diarrhea. For people living in the village of Tualang Sembilar Bambel Southeast Aceh district home use the latrines when defecating to prevent diarrhea. Keywords: Knowledge, Attitudes, Usage Latrines, Diarrhea

Abstract

Analysis of lead (pb) in  snack  foods served using a cover and  without cover a round traffic light in the city of Medan in 2012. Snack foods such as fried bananas favored by many people. Food-borne illness cause of foods served does not eligible hygiene and food sanitation. Fried presented a round the traffic light is not served by closed container. The cover is estimated to effect pollution of lead (Pb) in the food. This study aimed to determine levels of lead (Pb) in the snack foods served using a cover and without it a round traffic light in the city of Medan in 2012. This study was descriptive research, to know the levels of lead (Pb) in the snack foods served using a cover and without it a round traffic light in the city of Medan in 2012. Results of this research showed there was all samples contained lead (Pb). Object of this research is 10 samples of fried bananas, consist of 5 samples were using a glass cover and 5 samples were without it. Highest levels of lead (Pb) is in fried foods served a round the traffic light of Pinang Baris, which is 2.89 ppm. Lowest levels of lead (Pb) is in fried foods served a round the traffic light of Komplek Tasbi, which is 2.04 ppm. Snack foods served using a cover was qualify by set under Threshold Limit Value and all levels of lead (Pb) in the fried banana without a cover a round the traffic light was unqualify by set under Regulation of BPOM RI No. 03725/B/SK/VII/89 a bout maximum limit of metal pollution in food. Contamination of lead (Pb) has occurred in snacks food served using a cover and without it a round traffic light in the city of Medan in 2012. Cover reduces the pollution of lead (Pb) in snack foods.
