Abstract

The assessment of faculty performance is a mandatory practice for higher education institutions to monitor and maintain the quality of their operations. This is because the quality of a university is partly determined by faculty performance, which includes outputs related to tridharma activities of higher education institutions (teaching, research, and community service), as well as supporting activities. The issue at hand is the absence of a system at the faculty level that can store and manage all faculty activities in the form of reports and documentation of academic and non-academic activities, which are essential for evaluating faculty performance. This study aims to implement a web-based information system to facilitate structured and organized management of faculty activity portfolios. The information system was practically developed using the Laravel framework, with a system development life cycle methodology for its conceptual design. The programming language used for development is PHP, with data storage relying on the capabilities of MySQL for practical reasons. System design is approached using object-oriented methods, with UML serving as the primary analytical tool. The outcome of the study is a web-based application that can be widely accessed via a browser, enhancing user accessibility. Testing was conducted through system integration and user acceptance tests to ensure that the system meets the desired operational conditions. In conclusion, this system represents a digital transformation tool for faculty performance assessment processes, effectively and efficiently facilitating the tasks of faculty members in reporting and documenting their activities, thereby contributing to the improvement of university quality

Abstract

The church news that is currently used is a media that is distributed to all church members on certain days only, namely Sundays. The needs of church members for the latest information and also in accelerating the process of managing documentation and giving donations or tithes to the church are also not available other than on Sundays. This study was conducted using the basis of the problems that have been reviewed by the researcher. Data collected from the church in the form of church news formats, forms that must be filled in by the congregation prove that there is no flexibility in the process or work system of disseminating information in the church. This study was conducted using the information system development method, namely waterfall. In the initial analysis, a SWOT analysis was also used to see how the system conditions occurred and then describe the flow of the system in an information system flow. Development was carried out using development tools such as unified modeling languages, programming languages, and other design tools as needed. The results of the study obtained were a system that could provide a media system in digital form or internet-based media that would be available at any time to all system users in the church. The results of this study provide features according to the needs of church members, such as church news features, congregation databases, donation or tithe features, and weekly news features.

Politeness is to convey an expression as pleasantly as possible, which is necessary to reduce conflict with others. As a result, being polite is essential because it allows people to express themselves without offending others. The aim of this study is to examine the strategies of politeness utilized in the movie "Tenggelamnya Kapal Van der Wijck" based on Brown and Levinson's theory (1987). This study employs a descriptive qualitative design in order to explain the many forms of politeness used by the characters in the film. According to the findings of this study, it found 14 occurrences spanning four categories of politeness strategies as defined by Brown and Levinson (1987). Specifically, the study found 4 cases of positive politeness, 3 instances of negative politeness, 4 instances of bald-on-record strategies, and 3 instances of off-record strategies. The politeness mentioned in the speech is beneficial, considering the film is about a cultural romance in a rural area of Indonesia.

Abstract

Public transportation is essential in people's mobility as it provides access to work, education, healthcare, and social interaction. However, for people with disabilities, transportation accessibility is often a real barrier. This can include difficulty boarding vehicles, lack of disability-friendly facilities, or lack of training for staff in providing assistance to them. This research analyzes a comparison of inclusive transport for people with disabilities in Jakarta and Singapore. People with disabilities are known to have physical limitations, so innovations are needed that allow them to benefit from public services and society at large. The law also explicitly guarantees this. Number 08 of 2016 on the rights and position of persons with disabilities as citizens. This research uses qualitative research methods and the theory of inclusive public services according to Dwiyanto who says that there are several aspects of inclusive services that need to be understood first, namely togetherness, recognition, without labels. The results of this study reveal that both through initiatives such as TransJakarta Cares in Jakarta and adequate accessibility facilities on MRT, buses and taxis in Singapore, both cities strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone. In addition, both cities also recognize the importance of acknowledging similarities and differences among individuals, and not categorizing people with disabilities as a marginalized group. This is reflected in their efforts to provide transportation services that suit the needs of the disabled community without discriminating against any particular group.

Abstract

Identity cards play a crucial role in proving someone's identity in the modern era. This research compares the process of issuing national identity cards in Indonesia and Singapore, focusing on security, efficiency, speed, and reliability. Indonesia, with its large and diverse population, and Singapore, with a smaller population but high population density, demonstrate different approaches to identity card issuance. An analysis is conducted on the strengths and weaknesses of each system, including technological innovation, population coverage, inter-agency cooperation, biometric usage, and improvements in public services. Despite facing challenges such as limited infrastructure, administrative issues, and potential corruption, Indonesia continues to innovate with chip technology and inter-agency collaboration. In Singapore, an efficient identity card issuance system is supported by advanced technology, online services, and a focus on privacy. Nevertheless, challenges related to technology dependence, privacy issues, accessibility, administrative errors, and costs remain concerns. Nonetheless, this research provides valuable insights for the development of public administration systems in other countries

Currently ranked 72nd out of 77 countries, Indonesia's education system need greater attention. In Japan, kids are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities that may not always be enjoyable for their peers after completing elementary school in the fourth grade.
