Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between the implementation of Gestalt theory-based counseling and the reduction in delinquency among junior high school (SMP) students. A quasi-experimental design was employed, dividing participants into intervention and control groups. The intervention group received regular counseling sessions based on Gestalt principles, while the control group received standard counseling or no additional interventions. Pre- and post-intervention assessments were conducted using surveys, behavioral observations, interviews, and standardized instruments to measure delinquency and counseling effectiveness. Quantitative analysis revealed a statistically significant reduction in delinquency levels among students receiving Gestalt-based counseling compared to the control group (p < 0.05). Students in the intervention group exhibited a substantial decrease in delinquent behaviors, with qualitative data supporting improved emotional regulation, conflict resolution skills, and heightened self-awareness.

Abstract

This research investigates the efficacy of art therapy as an intervention for managing stress among individuals diagnosed with anxiety disorders. Anxiety disorders represent a prevalent mental health concern, impacting millions worldwide and posing significant challenges in stress management. The study adopts a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design, recruiting participants aged 18–65 diagnosed with specific anxiety disorders, excluding severe cognitive impairment or concurrent intensive therapies. The intervention group engages in art therapy sessions facilitated by licensed art therapists, incorporating various creative modalities tailored to foster emotional expression and stress reduction. The control group receives standard care for anxiety disorders, excluding art therapy. Quantitative measures utilizing standardized anxiety assessment scales and qualitative methods capture stress levels and participants' experiences throughout the intervention. Findings reveal a statistically significant reduction in stress levels among the intervention group compared to the control, indicating the effectiveness of art therapy in stress management. Longitudinal analyses exhibit sustained improvements and positive subjective experiences reported by participants engaging in art therapy. The implications drawn highlight the importance of integrating art therapy as a holistic adjunctive intervention within mental health treatments for anxiety-related stress.

Abstract

Postpartum depression (PPD) poses a significant mental health challenge for new mothers, affecting their well-being and family dynamics. Employing a mixed-methods approach, quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews were conducted among a diverse sample of married or partnered couples within the postpartum period. Findings revealed a robust inverse correlation between comprehensive spousal support encompassing emotional understanding, practical assistance, and validation of experiences and the propensity of wives to experience postpartum depression. The study sheds light on the transformative potential of supportive spousal relationships in mitigating postpartum depression and underscores the need for tailored interventions, inclusive healthcare practices, and family-centered approaches to enhance maternal mental well-being during this critical phase.

Abstract

Bullying, in its various forms, poses a significant threat to adolescent mental health. This research delves into the distinct psychological impacts of cyberbullying and verbal bullying by examining their associations with depression levels among late adolescents. A mixed-methods approach was employed, encompassing quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with a diverse sample of late adolescents. Participants were drawn from various socio-economic backgrounds and educational settings to ensure representation. Quantitative analysis revealed statistically significant differences in depression levels between victims of cyberbullying and verbal bullying. Cyberbullying victims exhibited notably higher levels of depressive symptoms compared to those experiencing verbal bullying. Qualitative insights enriched the findings, elucidating the nuanced experiences and emotional distress faced by victims. Cyberbullying victims described feelings of isolation, powerlessness, and constant fear, stemming from the relentless and anonymous nature of online harassment. In contrast, victims of verbal bullying expressed immediate emotional pain, humiliation, and social ostracization within their immediate physical environments. The observed differences underscore the unique psychological toll of cyberbullying and verbal bullying on adolescent mental health. The pervasive nature, anonymity, and prolonged exposure inherent in cyberbullying intensify emotional distress, contributing to more severe depressive outcomes. These findings hold crucial implications for tailored interventions, societal awareness, and support systems aimed at mitigating the detrimental impact of bullying on adolescent mental health.

Abstract

This research embarks on an exploration of the intricate relationship between social media use and social anxiety within the millennial generation. Grounded in the context of the digital age, our study aims to unravel the complexities, nuances, and implications of this dynamic interplay. Employing a cross-sectional design, a diverse sample of millennials participated in surveys that probed their social media habits, experiences, and levels of social anxiety. The findings of our research reveal a significant positive correlation between the frequency and duration of social media use and heightened levels of social anxiety among millennials. This confirmation aligns with existing literature, emphasizing the robustness of the observed relationship. Furthermore, the study introduces novel dimensions, elucidating platform-specific nuances, the mediating role of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), gender dynamics, and temporal adaptations in the correlation. Implications drawn from these findings offer valuable insights for mental health interventions, societal reflections, and future research endeavors. Tailored strategies addressing the unique stressors associated with digital engagement are crucial, considering the identified correlation. Platform-specific awareness and education become imperative for empowering individuals to make informed choices about their digital interactions.

Abstract

This research explores the characteristics of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients with complications of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) through a retrospective observational study conducted at Awal Bros Hospital. The study examines demographic profiles, temporal dynamics of disease coexistence, treatment patterns, and associated complications among individuals grappling with both T2DM and pulmonary TB. Findings reveal a diverse demographic distribution and varying durations of T2DM and TB coexistence, emphasizing the need for personalized healthcare strategies. A correlation between poor glycemic control and the severity of TB complications underscores the importance of optimized diabetes management. Variations in treatment patterns highlight the potential benefits of integrated care approaches. The study's implications for clinical practice emphasize the adoption of comprehensive, patient-centered care and the optimization of treatment strategies. Moreover, the research provides valuable insights for guiding future investigations and informs targeted public health initiatives. These findings contribute to the global understanding of the dual burden of T2DM and pulmonary TB, offering a foundation for improved healthcare practices and interventions.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between self-compassion and body dissatisfaction in female adolescents, aiming to contribute to our understanding of factors influencing adolescent body image and psychological well-being. A longitudinal correlational design was employed to assess self-compassion and body dissatisfaction in a sample of female adolescents. Participants completed validated self-report measures assessing self-compassion and body dissatisfaction at baseline and follow-up assessments spaced several months apart. Data were analyzed using correlational, regression, and longitudinal analyses to explore the association between self-compassion and body dissatisfaction over time, as well as potential moderators and mediators of this relationship. Findings revealed a significant negative association between self-compassion and body dissatisfaction at baseline, suggesting that adolescents with higher levels of self-compassion tend to experience lower levels of body dissatisfaction. Moderation and mediation analyses suggested that factors such as age, social support, self-esteem, and body appreciation may influence the strength and mechanisms of the self-compassion-body dissatisfaction relationship. These findings have important implications for theory, research, and practice, highlighting the significance of self-compassion in promoting positive body image and psychological resilience among adolescent girls.
