Abstract

Background of this research was lowmastery of concept to Sciencesubject in SMP Negeri 3 Sindang Indramayu that was caused of the learning method that were not the student centered and low student attention toward the environment conservation and clean. The purpose of the research was to know the application Project Based Learning Model with the Science of Society Technology Approach to increase the mastery of concept and the student attention attitude toward the environment. The method of the research is Quasi Experimentwith Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this research wereall the students in grade VII of SMP Negeri 3 Sindang in the academic year 2017/2018 that was consist of 8 classrooms in the total of 256 students. The sampling technique of the research was Purposive Random Sampling.  The class that was become a sample was grade VIIC (the control class PJBL without The Science of Society Technology Approach) that was consist of 32 students. And grade VIIB (the experiment class PJBL withThe Science of Society Technology Approach) that was consist of 32 students. The instrument that was used in this research was multiple choice test, question naire and journal observation. Abstract

Research   objectives   analyze   the   feasibility,   increase   creativity,   learning outcomes and student responses to project based learning (PjBL) learning models in making organic pesticides.  The results of the study was found that: The PjBL model of making  organic  pesticides  can  develop  students'  creativity.  The  results  of  the significance hypothesis test 0,004<0.05, the initial hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, meaning that there is a difference in the average creativity of students between the experimental class and the control class. Abstract

The focus of the problem in this study is student's low learning achievement and scientific attitude on the subject of Respiratory System. To anticipate these problems, it is necessary some effort to improve the student's learning achievement and scientific attitudes, by implementing the Guided Inquiry-Based Practicum. The research method used a combination methods of research (mixed methods), which uses the design of Exploratory Design. This study used two treatment groups, experimental class (class VIII-E, 34 students) implementing guided inquiry-based practicum, and control class (class VIII-A, 34 students) using ordinary practicum. Instrument used in this research are observation sheet of learning implementation, learning result test, student performance test, and student response questionnaire to implementation of guided inquiry based practicum. The result of descriptive analysis shows that the mean score of the student's learning achievement of experimental class is 75,59 and the control class is 61,18. The result of research data used t-test Paired Sample. Based on hypothesis test results obtained sig.0.000 <&#945; (0,05) then H0 rejected and H1 accepted. Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of guided inquiry-based practicum can improve learning achievement and scientific attitudes of students of SMPN 2 Plered on the subject of human respiratory systemKeywords: Guided Inquiry; Based Practicum; Learning Achievements; Scientific Attitudes

Abstract

This research is the tendency of students who only received learning material sourced from teachers through lectures, so that students are less active in the learning process more towards teacher centered. Because during the learning process in the classroom only emphasize knowledge of low-level thinking, students should be able to develop the ability of critical thinking and argumentation skills of students during the learning process so that it will get used to argue and higher level thinking. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of PBL models to improve the ability of critical thinking and argumentation skills as well as to determine the relationship between the ability of critical thinking skills and argumentation skills. The method used Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population in this study is the class X.1 and X.2 Senior High School PGRI 1 Majalengka in 2015/2016 school year and totaling 47 students. Sampling was done by using cluster random sampling, were divided into 2 groups: PBL model class with 24 students and other class are not using PBL as many as 23 students. Instruments in this research is the description of critical thinking skills and argumentation skills test, observation sheets and questionnaires for students. Hypothesis test using parametric statistical tests in this case to test the hypothesis of implementation PBL models to enhance the critical thinking skills using Manova test was obtained p <0.05 is 0.01 <0.05, which means there is an increased implementation of the PBL model of critical thinking skills of students and hypothesis test of  implementation PBL model to enhance argumentation skills of was obtained p <0.05 is 0.03 <0.05, which means there is an increased implementation of the PBL model of argumentation skills of the students, as well as the correlation coefficient to determine the relationship of critical thinking skills and the skills of argumentation studied through the PBL model obtained p <0.05 is 0.049, which means there is an interaction between critical thinking skills and argumentation skillsKeywords: PBL Model; Critical Thinking Skills; Argument Skills

Abstract

The background of this study is that the learning process still uses conventional learning (lecture method) so that there are problems with the ability of creative thinking and student creativity in solving problems. The purpose of this study is to find out the implementation of Scientific Problem Solving (CPS) based Learning to improve the ability to think creatively and Creativity in solving problems.This research method used an experiment with prepostes control group design which was carried out in Kapetak State Middle School SMP2 with 39 students in the experimental class and 38 students in the control class.The results of this study concluded that (1) The implementation of learning using the CPS-based scientific model seemed that the teacher was able to carry out good learning. This is indicated by the implementation of all the CPS-based scientific model syntax indicators by teachers with an average total implementation of the learning process of 87.78% with a very good category. (2) Implementation of the application of scientific-based CPS learning model in teaching and learning activities can improve students' creative thinking skills. This is reflected in the average value of creative thinking achieved by the control class is 65.33, and the average value of creative thinking in the experimental class is 78.89 in the good category. Hypothesis test results are sig. 0.000 <0.05, then the initial hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This means that there are differences in the average creative thinking of students between the experimental class and the control class. (3) There are differences and enhancements in students' creativity in solving problems between those who use the Scientific Creative CPS learning model and those who use learning material lectures on the Excretion System in human students where the experimental class has increased from a pretest value of 55.13 to 75.43, with a value normalized gain 0.43 which is Medium. Whereas in the mean control class from pretest 52.85 it rose to 60.96 in the posttest average, with the normalized gain value of 0.16 which included the low criteria (4) Student responses Regarding creative thinking skills and creativity solving problems after the science learning activities with the CPS learning model Scientific based through questionnaires obtained an average value of 55.18 and categorized as good. Abstract

The literacy skills of science and technology in Indonesia is still low, and results from study science in Indonesia is still categorized as low. One of the efforts is the use of effective learning media that can ultimately improve the quality of learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the increase of science and technology literacy through interactive multimedia-based learning on the material of pollution impact for life. This study is Quasi Experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study are all students of class VII of MTsN 7 Majalengka. The research sample is class VII E as many as 40 people. Analysis of the data used is normality test, homogeneity Wilcoxon test data from pretest and posttest. From this research found: 1) Characteristic of interactive multimedia based learning is video displays, video content, animations, contains questions, and narration to clarify video displays. 2) Characteristics of interactive multimedia is to have more than one media convergent (in the form of images, animation and video), interactive which is able to accommodate a user response, and be independent ie interactive multimedia provide convenience and completeness of the content so that it can use it without the guidance of others. 3) interactive multimedia-based learning can improve students' science literacy and technology in the material impact of pollution for life, by giving the conclusion increase is being considered. 4) Based on the results of questionnaires given to students after learning science by using interactive multimedia, student responses to the use of interactive multimedia, including in the medium category, meaning that most of the students in the experimental class had a good response to the interactive multimedia-based learning in science subjectsKeywords: Interactive Multimedia; Based Learning;  Literacy of Science; Technology

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of knowledge, competence, and attitude of students' science and students' and teachers' responses as a result of Integrated Science lesson with Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to the concept  of Global Warming. This research method using quasi eksperimental research. The sample in this study is the seventh grade students of SMP Sultan Agung Source academic year 2016/2017. With cluster random sampling technique, VII B class samples were selected as experimental class which was studied by CTL approach and class VII A as control class subjected to conventional learning. The instrument used is a multiple choice question test that amounts to 25 with attention to indicators leading to the science literature Frame work PISA 2015; A questionnaire of students' science stance and student responses; Teacher interview as teacher response; and observation of learning. Data analysis was performed using Excel 2010 and SPSS 22.0 for Windows. Based on the data analysis of the research results concluded that: (1) Improved students' science knowledge profile as a result of IPA learning Integrated with CTL approach on global warming concept with N-gain 0.59 medium category (2) Increase of students' science competency profile as a result of IPA learning Integrated with CTL approach on global warming concept with N-gain 0.59 medium category (3) Improved students' science attitude profile as a result of IPA learning Integrated with CTL approach on global warming concept with N-gain 0.04 low category (4) Student responses to IPA learning Integrated with CTL approach on the concept of global warming responded positively 81%. Abstract

This study is entitled the aims of study to analyze the implementation of the Group Investigation learning model, analyze differences in the creativity of student investigation between the control class and the experimental class, analyze the ability of student presentations between the control class and the experimental class and to determine the response of student’s to the learning. The research method used was the Quasy Experiment with the Nonequivalent Control Group research design. The population in this study were all students of X-MIA class 1 Jamblang Senior High School 2017/2018 Academic Year. The sample in the study were students of class X-MIA 3 as an experimental class using the Group Investigation learning model and X-MIA 6 class as a control class with Discovery Learning learning model. The results showed (1) the implementation of Group Investigation model learning was carried out very well starting from the introduction to closing activities with an average percentage of 83.7%. (2) there are differences in student’s investigative creativity ability between the experimental class and the control class, in the creativity experiment class they investigate it better than the control class. (3) there are differences in presentation skills between the experimental class and the control class, in the experimental class student's presentation skills are better than the control class. (4) 53.3% of students gave a strong response, while the remaining 46.7% of students gave a very strong response, so that the average student gave a strong response to the Group Investigation learning modeKeywords: Investigative Creativity Ability; Presentation Ability; Group Investigation Learning

Abstract

This research is motivated by students' science process skills that are still low. Factors that cause low science process skills are low mastery of students' concepts of subject matter. The purpose of this study is 1) to describe the implementation of learning with the implementation of an advance organizer model based on concept maps on learning activities and student learning outcomes, 2) to determine the implementation of the advance organizer model based on concept maps can improve student learning activities, 3) to determine the implementation of the model advance organizer based on concept maps can improve student learning outcomes on the concept of the reproductive system, 4) to find out the response of the students to the implementation of the advance organizer model based on concept maps of learning activities and student learning outcomes. The method used in this study is mixed methods research. The sampling technique is cluster random sampling in two classes, namely the experimental class and 40 students for the control class. The research instrument used is the student activity task and rubric, concept mastery essay test, student response questionnaire on learning and teacher and student activity observation sheets. Data analysis techniques used are normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. Based on the results of hypothesis testing statistics shows the value of Sig. amounting to 0.415> 0.05, with a value of t = 4.855 with Sig. 0,000 <0,05 means that the implementation of the advance organizer model based on concept maps can improve student learning activities on the concept of the reproductive system in class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Lumbung, Ciamis Regency. Based on the results of hypothesis testing statistics shows the value of Sig. amounting to 0.422> 0.05, with a value of t = 8.336 with Sig. 0,000 <0,05 means that the implementation of the advance organizer model based on concept maps can improve student learning outcomes in the concept of the reproductive system in class XI of SMA 1 Lumbung, Ciamis Regency. Abstract

The purpose of the research is to get the description of science literacy skill and technology after the learning process through science technology society  learning model in the sub-concept of water pollution. The method that I used is free eksperimental and the sample of the research is the class X of MIPA 4 from the population of the class X SMAN 2 Indramayu. The research instruments are observation sheet which purposing in analyzing the science literacy and technology of the student, multiple choice consisting of 20 questions which are given through pretest and posttest, and questionnaire which analyze the student’s response after the learning. The observation result shows that in the science technology society  learning model have few obstacles: inadequate of facilities and infrastructure, students’ lack of the knowledge, lack of preparation and lack of time. In general, the students are quite capable to do three kinds of the science literacy aspects and two kinds aspects of technology literacy. The three aspects of science literacy includes: explanation in regards to the scientific phenomena, designing and evaluating scientific exploration, and the use of scientific evidence. Technology literacy includes: management and evaluation of information gathers from all source of media and understanding the utilization of technology. Learning through Science technology society  model can improved the student’s science and technology literacy in gaining knowledge, skill and attitude. The knowledge that the student get are more meaningful and will be longer lasting in their mind. Based on the analyisi the mean Pretest  is 49,5 and the mean  () posttest is 70,7. After that, I conducted the test of t and the result is thitung (0,86) > ttabel (0,05), which means this is significantly different. The analysis of questionnaire shows that most of the students give positive response to the indicator with the mean of them is more than 75%Keywords: Science Literacy; Technolgy Literacy; Science technology society; Water Pollution
