Abstract

Based on the results of observations during science learning in class IX-A at Junior State High School 3 Batu Ampar, information was obtained that student learning outcomes were still low because after the Covid-19 pandemic, students' learning motivation had decreased, teachers rarely implemented interactive learning, so learning was less interesting. This research aims to improve science learning outcomes with a differentiation approach using Google Classroom. The type of research used is classroom action research which consists of 3 cycles. This research was carried out at State Junior High School 3 Batu Ampar, Kubu Raya Regency with the research subjects being students in class IX-A. This research data is the implementation of learning, student learning outcomes, and student responses in learning. The research instruments used were computer based tests (CBT) and observation sheets to measure learning implementation, learning outcomes, and student responses to learning using the discovery learning learning model. Data was analyzed by reducing and percentageing the data. The final stage is the reflection stage to determine whether to continue the research or not. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, an increase in data from cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III was obtained regarding the implementation of the discovery learning learning model, science learning outcomes, and student responses

Abstract

This article discusses efforts to improve students' English vocabulary mastery at SMP using the Educandy learning media. English language learning conducted so far has been limited to the use of dialogue or narrative text media, where students are asked to find the meaning of difficult words in the dictionary. This method is considered less effective in improving students' English vocabulary mastery. This study aims to describe the efforts to improve students' vocabulary using Educandy media. The research method used is classroom action research with two cycles. The results show that the use of Educandy media has proven to be effective in improving students' English vocabulary mastery. This can be seen from the increase in the average vocabulary score of students from cycle I to cycle II. Educandy is an online platform that provides various types of educational games, such as crosswords, hangman, and others. The use of Educandy media in English language learning is expected to motivate students to be more active and enthusiastic in learning vocabulary, so that they can improve their vocabulary mastery in a fun and interactive way.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a teaching and learning process where students can learn subject matter according to their abilities, likes and needs so that they do not get frustrated and feel like they have failed in their learning experience. This kind of learning has not been carried out by many teachers. Due to limited information obtained. So by making this written work, it can increase the teacher's information in carrying it out. Type of qualitative research. Data collection techniques are tests, observation and documentation. The number of research samples was 21 students in class 8A of Junior High School 13 Sungai Kakap. Based on the learning implementation scenario, differentiated learning has been proven. This can be seen from the start of learning preparation which groups or maps learning needs based on students' learning styles. Here there are 3 student learning styles including auditory, audio-visual and kinesthetic. The conclusions of this research include that the learning scenarios in differentiated learning designs have been proven to be real because of the content differentiation, process differentiation and product differentiation in the design. Learning outcomes of differentiated learning assisted by digital media on human respiratory system material in class 8 at Junior High School 13 Sungai Kakap with a knowledge score of 79.52 (good), a skills score of 90 (very good), and an attitude score of very good.

Abstract

Understanding the concepts in science learning is very important for students to master because they have deep meaning for appreciating life. Students' understanding of cell material is still low because this material tends to be abstract and there are many Latin terms that are foreign and difficult for students, so a learning approach is needed that can meet students' needs in studying this material. This research aims to describe the implementation of differentiation learning using the Discovery Learning method and its impact on student learning motivation in cell material in class 8A of SMPN 2 Sungai Raya. The research approach used is qualitative with a case study design. Data was collected through observation, interviews and questionnaires filled out by 39 students. The research results show that differentiation learning using the Discovery Learning method can increase students' learning motivation. Indicators of increased learning motivation can be seen from persistence, active participation in learning, and increased students' cognitive and affective abilities. With a variety of activities and media used, students can enjoy a fun and meaningful learning experience. Differentiated learning using the discovery learning method can be used as an effective strategy to increase student learning motivation. Teachers need to map students' learning needs and adjust the learning methods used to suit students' learning styles and interests.

Abstract

This study is titled "Differentiated Instruction Using Modelling Techniques on Expressions of Congratulation, Hope, and Wish in Junior High School." The research problem addressed is, "How does the implementation of differentiated instruction using modelling techniques on expressions of congratulation, hope, and wish enhance the understanding of junior high school students?" The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of implementing differentiated instruction with modelling techniques in improving students' understanding of expressions of congratulation, hope, and wish in junior high school. The methodology used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The findings show that the application of differentiated instruction with modelling techniques can enhance students' understanding and skills in using expressions of congratulation, hope, and wish. The modelling techniques used include direct demonstrations by the teacher, the use of concrete examples, and repeated practice involving active student participation. Based on the analysis, differentiated instruction with modelling techniques proves effective in accommodating various learning styles and improving students' learning outcomes on this material.

Abstract

This study aims to enhance the positive discipline of seventh-grade students through the implementation of classroom procedures in English language instruction at SMP Negeri 6 Teluk Pakedai. The research was prompted by the observed absence of clearly developed positive disciplinary character and behavior among students. A qualitative approach was selected as the most appropriate methodology for this study. Data collection was carried out through observation and surveys, using observation sheets and questionnaires as instruments. The classroom procedures were developed with student involvement and implemented consistently over a period of several months. The results of the study indicate a significant improvement in various aspects of student discipline, including orderliness, punctuality, obedience, self-control, responsibility, and consistency. This was evidenced by observation and survey results, which demonstrated an increase in the percentage of students exhibiting positive disciplinary behavior, rising from 16 percent to 66 percent following the implementation of classroom procedures over several months. The most notable improvements were observed in orderliness, punctuality, and responsibility. These findings are consistent with previous research indicating that the application of clear and consistent classroom procedures can be effective in shaping student discipline. In conclusion, the implementation of classroom procedures represents an effective strategy for fostering positive discipline among students.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of classroom beliefs in fostering learning motivation for class IX students at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Kakap. Classroom beliefs include the values, rules, and expectations agreed upon by teachers and students as guidelines for the learning process. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews with students, and distribution of questionnaires to measure student learning motivation. Aspects of learning motivation that are measured include interest in learning, effort and perseverance, as well as a conducive learning environment. The research results show that consistent implementation of classroom beliefs is able to foster student interest in the subject matter, strengthen effort and persistence in completing assignments, and create a learning environment that supports student comfort and active participation. Supporting factors in classroom implementation are the teacher's commitment to implementing classroom beliefs, a conducive learning environment, and peer support. The factors inhibiting the implementation of classroom beliefs are the lack of consistency between teachers and students in implementing classroom beliefs and the lack of student awareness of the importance of classroom beliefs. This research recommends strengthening communication between teachers and students to further optimize the application of classroom beliefs in order to increase learning motivation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of learning communities at SMP Negeri 1 Kuala Mandor B in enhancing teachers' motivation to participate in professional development activities related to knowledge, skills, self-confidence, and the implementation of quality learning processes. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and classroom supervision. Activities within the learning community include reviewing teaching modules, classroom teaching practice, and assessment. Teachers collaborate to share best practices in terms of experience, knowledge, and skills in order to determine more effective classroom teaching methods. Collaboration, innovation, and experience sharing among teachers play a vital role in the learning community to improve the quality of education in schools. Enhancing teachers' competencies significantly contributes to the realization of professional classroom management. Learning that applies varied models and strategies, as well as the implementation of differentiation, leads to effective classroom management. Effective learning is achieved through teachers’ competencies in selecting appropriate and varied teaching models or strategies, as well as optimizing student engagement in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Project to Strengthen the Profile of Pancasila Students (P5) in fostering the character of cooperation (gotong royong) through the making of traditional snacks among fifth-grade students (Phase C) at SDN 2 Rasau Jaya. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and interviews. Observations were carried out by directly observing students during the action phase of the project. The findings indicate that the project activities successfully introduced students to various traditional snacks and the processes involved in making them. The results also show that the value of cooperation (gotong royong) was demonstrated by the participants throughout the project. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Project effectively fosters the character of cooperation among fifth-grade students at SDN 2 Rasau Jaya.

Abstract

Politeness is one of the key elements in shaping students’ noble character and strong personal values. The inculcation of polite behavior from an early age is crucial as it serves as the foundation for building healthy social relationships, both within the school environment and in the broader community. However, based on the findings of the researcher, there has been a noticeable decline in polite behavior among students. This decline is influenced by various factors, one of which is the excessive and uncontrolled use of social media. As a result, some students imitate negative behaviors they observe online, such as speaking rudely, showing disrespect toward elders, and demonstrating a lack of concern for their surroundings. This study aims to reestablish polite behavior in students through the implementation of class agreements at SD Negeri 15 Kuala Mandor B. Class agreements refer to mutual commitments established between teachers and students, developed based on students’ input and jointly agreed upon as rules to be applied consistently throughout the learning process. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. Observations were conducted four times during September 2024 to monitor changes in student behavior. The findings reveal that the implementation of class agreements positively influences the improvement of students' polite behavior, both in verbal communication and in their daily attitudes within the school setting. Furthermore, students have begun to demonstrate mutual respect toward one another and show greater respect for their teachers in every learning activity.
