Abstract

This study aims to analyze user acceptance of the Sayang Warga application in the Tambaksari District, Surabaya City, using a quantitative approach based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The model focuses on two main variables—Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU)—and includes user satisfaction as an indicator of system success. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire distributed to active users of the application and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results indicate that users have a positive perception of the application in terms of both usability and perceived benefits. The reliability dimension within PEOU received the highest mean score, while the assurance dimension under PU recorded the lowest. These findings affirm that technology acceptance is directly influenced by users’ perceptions of usefulness and ease of use, which ultimately affect their satisfaction levels. This study contributes theoretically to the development of public service information systems and offers practical insights for policymakers and application developers in designing inclusive, responsive, and sustainable digital systems.

Abstract

This research examines the turnover intention at PT Mega Artha Lintas Data by analyzing the impact of affective commitment and workload. The subjects of this research were employees of PT Mega Artha Lintas Data, with a total of 45 respondents obtained through an online questionnaire. This is a quantitative study using multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS version 25 for Windows. It was found that affective commitment does not have a significant effect on turnover intention. Similarly, workload also does not significantly affect employees' turnover intention. These findings imply that PT Mega Artha Lintas Data should consider other factors beyond the two variables studied to reduce employees’ intention to leave the company. For future research, it is recommended to explore additional predictors of turnover intention such as compensation, job satisfaction, and leadership style, and to consider qualitative methods to uncover underlying motivations.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of work motivation and work discipline policies and their influence on teacher performance at SDN Gading IV Surabaya. Employing a quantitative descriptive research design, data were collected from 25 respondents using a structured questionnaire based on a 5-point Likert scale. The variables were measured using established theoretical frameworks: Maslow and Herzberg for motivation, Hasibuan and Sutrisno for discipline, and Mangkunegara for performance indicators. Descriptive statistical analysis revealed high average scores across all variables: work motivation (4.38), work discipline (4.39), and teacher performance (4.32). The results indicate that teachers at SDN Gading IV demonstrate a strong commitment to professional standards, compliance with institutional policies, and consistent teaching effectiveness. These findings support previous research that links internal behavioral factors with performance outcomes in education. The study concludes that sustained efforts to enhance teacher motivation and discipline can contribute significantly to improving the quality of education. Further research is recommended to explore comparative contexts and integrate additional influencing factors such as leadership and job satisfaction.

Abstract

This article examines the dynamics of the body horror genre in three recent Hollywood films: The Substance (2024), Bodies Bodies Bodies (2022), and It’s What’s Inside (2024). Utilizing Nick Lacey’s "repertoire of elements" model, the study dissects how body horror functions as a site of cultural and ideological discourse, encompassing themes of identity, beauty, technology, and social criticism. Through detailed narrative, character, iconographic, setting, and stylistic analysis, the research demonstrates how body horror, far from being mere spectacle, operates as a potent metaphor for anxieties surrounding the human condition in contemporary society. The findings reveal that these films push the boundaries of horror to engage in a critique of body politics, gender norms, performative culture, and capitalist commodification.

Abstract

This Journal aims to examine how Asian culture is represented in the video game The Sims 4: For Rent. As one of the most influential forms of interactive media, video games have the potential to convey cultural narratives through visuals, characters, and gameplay mechanics. This research adopts a qualitative approach using visual analysis based on Stuart Hall’s theory of representation and Gillian Rose’s visual methodology, particularly the site of the image (itself) and Discourse Analysis II. Data were collected through visual observation of elements reflecting Asian culture in the game, including architecture, clothing, objects, and social activities. The findings reveal that Asian culture, especially Southeast Asian culture, is represented through visual symbols such as traditional boarding house architecture, batik clothing, local cuisine, and communal values like mutual cooperation. These representations are framed positively, portraying warmth and the richness of local traditions. This study concludes that The Sims 4: For Rent functions not only as a form of entertainment but also as a cultural learning medium that shapes global perceptions of Asian identity.

Abstract

The 2024 Indonesian presidential election, won by the Prabowo Subianto–Gibran Rakabuming Raka ticket, marked the beginning of the implementation of massive budget efficiency policies. One of the impacts was the blocking of the budget for a strategic national project, namely the construction of the new capital city, Nusantara (IKN), which sparked public debate and became the focus of online media. Given that media plays a vital role in shaping public perception and opinion, this study aims to analyze how media framing is conducted by Detik.com and Tempo.co in framing the issue of the IKN budget freeze. This study uses the framing model proposed by Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki, which includes four main elements: syntax, script, thematic, and rhetorical. The method used is qualitative descriptive with a constructivist paradigm, which views social reality as the result of intersubjective construction. Data was collected through an analysis of news articles published by Detik.com and Tempo.co between February 6 and 27, 2025, focusing on the issue of the IKN budget freeze. The results of the study indicate that Tempo.co employs a critical framing strategy, emphasizing fiscal uncertainty, environmental impacts, and inconsistencies in government policy. Meanwhile, Detik.com tends to present an informative and administrative frame, emphasizing the continuity of development and clarifications from state authorities. These framing differences indicate distinct editorial orientations between the two media outlets. These findings confirm that framing and agenda setting are not only influenced by objective facts but also by ideological preferences and structural interests inherent in the media institutions themselves.
