Abstract

Cases of sexual violence in higher education institutions in Indonesia continue to rise. According to data from the National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) in 2024, there were 4,178 cases of violence against women, including in the higher education sector. In response to this issue, the government issued regulations on the prevention and handling of sexual violence in higher education through the Sexual Violence Prevention and Handling Law in Higher Education (UU PPKSP). This study aims to assess the understanding of students at the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia regarding sexual harassment offenses and their knowledge of the prevention and handling of sexual violence in the context of implementing the UU PPKSP. The research method used is quantitative, with the distribution of questionnaires to students as respondents. The results of the study are expected to provide an overview of the level of understanding and knowledge of students regarding the UU PPKSP, as well as serve as a basis for higher education institutions to strengthen socialization, education, and more effective systems for preventing and addressing sexual violence.

Abstract

This study analyzes the legal liability of parking managers from the perspective of consumer protection law in Coblong District, Bandung City. The research is based on the weak implementation of parking managers’ responsibility for the security of consumers’ vehicles, even though parking payments imply an agreement to provide such protection. Using a qualitative approach through interviews with five parking managers and ten consumers across five locations, this study explores the levels of knowledge, understanding, attitudes, and legal behavior of parking managers. The results show that while parking managers demonstrate a fair level of legal awareness regarding their duties and responsibilities, they lack comprehensive understanding of consumer rights as regulated in Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection. Meanwhile, most consumers are unaware of their legal rights regarding vehicle security and complaint mechanisms. This imbalance creates legal uncertainty and weakens consumer protection. Therefore, stricter regulation and supervision are needed to strengthen the accountability of parking managers and to enhance public legal awareness in the use of parking services.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the social perceptions of students and lecturers in the Legal Sciences Study Program at the Indonesian Education University regarding the Asset Confiscation Bill. The method used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with three students and three lecturers. The research results show that both students and lecturers generally support the urgency of passing the bill as an effort to eradicate corruption and recover state losses. However, there are concerns about the potential for abuse of authority and lack of transparency in its implementation. Respondents emphasized the importance of independent oversight, reform of law enforcement institutions, and public education to increase understanding and trust in this bill. This research recommends that the legislative process be carried out in a participatory and accountable manner to ensure the effectiveness and legitimacy of the law in its implementation.

Abstract

This study reexamines Max Weber’s concept of rational-legal authority through the lens of the 2024 election in Bandung, Indonesia. As a modern democratic mechanism, elections are the primary means by which legal-rational legitimacy is established and maintained within the state. The research explores how bureaucratic procedures, institutional transparency, and public trust interact to sustain electoral legitimacy in a local democratic context. By analyzing the administrative processes and citizen perceptions surrounding the 2024 election, the paper evaluates the extent to which Weber’s ideal type of authority aligns with the realities of Indonesia’s political system. The findings suggest that while rational-legal authority remains the dominant framework of governance, its legitimacy increasingly depends on social trust, digital transparency, and procedural fairness. Thus, the Bandung case provides insight into the evolving nature of rational-legal legitimacy in the twenty-first-century democratic state.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of legal awareness among students of the Law Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) regarding their compliance with the obligation to wear helmets, based on Soerjono Soekanto’s indicators of legal awareness. A descriptive quantitative approach was applied using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 71 respondents from the 2024 and 2025 cohorts. The findings show that students’ levels of legal knowledge and understanding fall into the medium category (78.87%), their legal attitudes into the high category (47.89%), and their legal behavior into the medium category (64.79%). These results indicate a gap between normative legal awareness and actual behavioral compliance. Overall, students’ legal awareness is at a moderate level, suggesting that legal understanding has not yet been fully internalized into consistent practice. The study recommends strengthening value-based and moral legal education so that students not only understand the law cognitively but also apply it as a guide for everyday behavior..

Abstract

This study examines the phenomenon of post-demonstration terror among students around the Bandung City DPRD Building from a criminological perspective, focusing on the impact of post-demonstration victims and the causes experienced by the victims. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews with 7 victims (students). The study identified three main patterns: (1) psychological terror through verbal and non-verbal threats, (2) the inability of authorities to separate provocative groups from peaceful demonstrators, and (3) the lack of victims' access to psychosocial services. These terror findings indicate that post-demonstration terror is a consequence of the weakness of the law enforcement system in security supervision and inequality in access to justice for vulnerable groups. The contribution of this study lies in mapping the vulnerability of non-demonstrator victims which is rarely discussed in public security studies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the YAREU focus strategy improves the learning concentration of elementary school children. The research method used was descriptive qualitative, with fourth-grade students at an elementary school in Bandung as subjects. Data were obtained through observation, teacher interviews, and documentation of learning activities. The results showed that the YAREU strategy, which focuses on breathing exercises, simple relaxation, and strengthening motivation, improved students' concentration during learning. These findings demonstrate that the YAREU focus strategy can be used as an alternative, innovative learning method to support the achievement of more optimal learning outcomes.

Abstract

The endocrine system plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability of the body's physiological functions through the regulation of hormones, which operate in a complex and interconnected manner. Imbalances in this system, which can be caused by unhealthy lifestyle and dietary factors, are a major trigger for chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus, thyroid disorders, and metabolic syndrome. This study aims to examine how a balanced nutritional pattern—both macronutrients (complex carbohydrates, high-quality proteins, and healthy fats) and micronutrients (vitamins and minerals)—supports optimal endocrine system function. A literature review revealed that excesses or deficiencies of certain nutrients can affect hormone production, metabolism, and effectiveness. For example, magnesium deficiency can inhibit insulin sensitivity, while iodine deficiency affects thyroid gland function. Therefore, adopting a balanced and nutritious diet is not only crucial for maintaining homeostasis but also plays a role in preventing endocrine disorders and sustainably reducing the risk of chronic diseases

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan rohani dan merumuskan strategi Pendidikan Agama Kristen (PAK) yang relevan bagi remaja/pemuda di Gereja Kalimantan Evangelis (GKE) Bukit Harapan, Sei Rahayu II. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan pendeta serta pembina remaja. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pemuda menghadapi tantangan seperti rendahnya kehadiran ibadah meski jumlah mereka banyak, pengaruh teknologi dan media sosial, serta pergumulan identitas diri dan iman. Kebutuhan rohani mereka meliputi pemahaman firman Tuhan yang kontekstual, pembentukan karakter Kristen, dan komunitas yang mendukung. Studi ini merekomendasikan penerapan metode pemahaman Alkitab yang interaktif, pemanfaatan media digital, desain ibadah tematik, dan pembentukan pendampingan kelompok kecil untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut secara efektif dan menumbuhkan pertumbuhan rohani yang holistik.

Abstract

Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd's thinking on the Qur'an as a muntaj tsaqafi (cultural product) and nash insani (human text) has sparked widespread debate in contemporary Islamic studies. This study aims to uncover the epistemological basis of Abu Zayd's ideas in his major work, Mafhum an-Nas, and analyze its implications for the concept of the sacrality of the Qur'an. Using a qualitative literature study method, this study traces the roots of Abu Zayd's thinking through an analysis of his biography, educational background, and the socio-historical context of Egypt surrounding him. The results show that Abu Zayd's epistemology is formed from a synthesis of Mu'tazilite rationalism, particularly the doctrine of the Qur'anic khalq; the linguistic-literary approach of the Amin al-Khuli school; and a modern hermeneutical framework. This foundation leads him to the conclusion that the Qur'an, as a text embodied in human language and history, is necessarily a human text open to critical analysis. The main implication is the desacralization of textual interpretation by strictly distinguishing between historical meaning (al-ma'nā) and contemporary significance (al-maghzā). This study demonstrates how Abu Zayd's method radically shifted the approach to revelation from theological-dogmatic to linguistic-historical, with the aim of liberating the text from ideological hegemony and making it relevant to the challenges of the times.
