Abstract

Agility is a key physical component in soccer. It supports the execution of technical skills, particularly dribbling. During dribbling, players must change direction rapidly, maintain balance, with coordinate body movements efficiently throughout the game. These abilities allow players to control the ball while responding to dynamic match situations. Despite its importance, empirical studies that examine the relationship between agility with dribbling ability in youth club players remain limited.These study aimed to examine the relationship between agility with dribbling performance among male soccer players in the Dasan Baru (DB) club in East Lombok. The research applied a correlational design with involved 20 male players as participants. Agility was assessed using the Illinois Agility Test. Dribbling performance was measured through a standardized soccer dribbling test. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to describe the characteristics of the variables. The Shapiro–Wilk test was used to examine data normality. The analysis then continued with Pearson product moment correlation to identify the relationship between agility with dribbling performance. The results revealed a statistically significant negative correlation between agility with dribbling performance (r = −0.71; p = 0.001). Players with higher agility levels completed the dribbling test in less time. The normality test showed that the data followed a normal distribution, which allowed the use of parametric statistical analysis. These findings indicate that agility has a meaningful association with dribbling performance in youth soccer players. Coaches should therefore include structured agility training in youth soccer development programs. Such training can help improve technical performance, particularly ball control with dribbling efficiency during play.

Abstract

To improve the quality of young athletes' development, the government, through the 2025 National Talented Athlete Development Center program, provides a regular training system complemented by routine monitoring and evaluation activities. Monitoring and evaluation are conducted to determine the success of the training program, observe athletes' progress, and serve as a reference for making decisions to improve the development program. Regular assessments help coaches and program managers identify progress or weaknesses in training activities. Physical condition testing using standardized tests is an important way to evaluate the success of a training program. Comparing assessment results between different stages provides a clear picture of an athlete's physical progress over time. By analyzing quantitative data descriptively, this progress can be presented as percentages and score categories, facilitating a clear understanding of program achievements. This study aims to analyze the physical development of athletes in the 2025 National Talented Athlete Development Center program based on the results of Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) Phase 1 and Phase 2. The study uses a qualitative library research approach. The research sample consisted of 342 athletes who took physical tests in both evaluation phases. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of percentages and distribution of score categories. The results show an increase in the average physical condition from 77% (adequate category) in Phase 1 to 80% (good category) in Phase 2. The proportion of athletes with scores <70% decreased from 23% to 12%. These findings indicate an increase in the effectiveness of physical training over a four-month period.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of mastering basic movement skills in elementary school physical education, especially in the forward roll floor gymnastics material which demands physical and psychological readiness of students. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-confidence and forward roll motor skills among sixth-grade students at State Elementary School 02 Rejosari. The forward roll is a floor gymnastics skill that requires a high level of complexity and mental and physical readiness from students. This study used a quantitative correlational approach with a cross-sectional research design. The population of this study consisted of all sixth-grade students at State Elementary School 02 Rejosari who had learned floor gymnastics material. The sample consisted of 20 students selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments were a self-confidence questionnaire with 15 statements and an observation sheet for assessing the technical aspects of the forward roll. Data analysis was performed using the Pearson product-moment correlation test with the help of SPSS 25 software. Based on the research results, the correlation value was 0.624, with a significance of 0.003 (p<0.05), which means that students' self-confidence and forward roll skills have a positive and significant relationship that is classified as strong, so that the higher the level of self-confidence, the better the students' forward roll skills. The results of this study prove that psychological aspects in physical education learning are very influential and have implications for teachers to train self-confidence in floor exercise learning.

Abstract

Manipulative motor skills are a fundamental component of physical education learning at the elementary school level, as they support students' physical, cognitive, and social development. However, observations at Sumur 03 Public Elementary School Pati Regency, indicated that students' manipulative skills learning were still low, particularly in hitting, throwing, and catching. This study aims to develop a softball learning model through the modification of the simpleball game to improve the basic manipulative motor skills of phase C (11-12years) students Sumur 03 Public Elementary School. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the following stages: needs analysis, product design, initial product development, expert validation, small-scale field testing, product revision, and large-scale field testing. The research subjects consisted of fifth and sixth grade students. Data collection techniques included observation, manipulative skill tests (pre-test and post-test), and student response questionnaires. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the learning and game expert validation showed that the Simpleball learning model was very feasible for use. The effectiveness test results showed an increase in students' basic manipulative motor skills in the aspects of hitting, throwing and catching at a distance, as well as catching a bouncing ball after the implementation of the Simpleball learning model. Student responses to the use of the Simpleball learning model also showed a very good category, which indicated high interest, involvement, and acceptance of students in learning. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the softball learning model through the Simpleball game modification is feasible and effective for improving the basic manipulative motor skills of Phase C elementary school students.

Abstract

Anxiety is a psychological component that significantly affects athletes' focus, confidence, and performance, particularly during the rigorous training phase leading up to a competition. The purpose of this study is to examine the anxiety levels of Tarung Derajat athletes in Pati Regency while they are training at the Training Center (TC) in advance of Provincial Sports Week (Porprov). This study combined a survey method with a quantitative descriptive design. Because of the relatively small population size, a total sampling technique was used to select 22 athletes for the study. The Competitive State Anxiety Inventory-2 (CSAI-2), a tool that assesses self-confidence, somatic anxiety, and cognitive anxiety, was used to collect data. Norm intervals were used to classify anxiety levels in a descriptive data analysis. The findings indicated that while no athletes fell into the very high category, the majority of athletes (50.00%) fell into the moderate anxiety category, followed by the high (27.27%), low (13.63%), and very low (9.10%) categories. These results show that while psychological stress during the TC period persisted, most athletes were able to control their anxiety to a manageable level. Age, athlete classification, competition experience, and training category (arts or combat) can all have an impact on anxiety levels. This study emphasizes the importance of systematically implementing mental training and anxiety management strategies within training programs to improve psychological readiness and optimize athlete performance during competition.

Abstract

Learning game functions as a strategy that provides a learning experience that is natural and relevant to real-life situations, therefore able to relate learning materials to daily experiences for students. This research aims to produce a game-based learning model on pencak silat martial arts materials for elementary school grade V students that can be applied in small and large groups in Margoyoso District, Pati Regency. This research applies  a Research and Development (R&D) approach that aims to produce and validate learning products in the form of a "Pencak Silat Learning Through Games" model for elementary school students. The population in this study consisted of students in the elementary school class of Margoyoso District, with a sample of 15 students in a small-scale pilot study and 60 students in a large-scale study taken from three public elementary schools. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis, which includes calculating the percentage of results from expert validation, questionnaires, and observation sheets. The results of the study showed that the learning model of pencak silat through the developed game obtained "very good" based on expert evaluation and test results with students. Thus, this learning model is considered feasible to be used to improve basic pencak silat activities and skills among elementary school students. The conclusion that the existence of a pencak silat learning model through games can overcome the problem of limited facilities and infrastructure, including open areas, needs to be done to support the effectiveness and smooth learning process.

Abstract

Physical fitness is an important indicator in supporting the physical and motor development and learning readiness of primary school students in physical education, sports and health (PE) lessons. However, the level of physical fitness of primary school students still tends to be in the moderate to low category due to limitations in the variety and systematics of training methods. This study aims to analyse the effect of circuit training and interval training on improving the physical fitness of primary school students and to compare the effectiveness of the two training. methods. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest two-group design. The research subjects consisted of 20 primary school students divided into two groups, namely the circuit training group and the interval training group. The physical fitness measurement instrument was based on the Indonesian Physical Fitness Test (TKJI). Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, and independent sample t-tests. The results showed that both circuit training and interval training significantly improved physical fitness in each group (p < 0.05). However, the results of the intergroup comparison test showed no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05), although descriptively, circuit training showed a higher increase. In conclusion, both training methods are effective in improving the physical fitness of primary school students, with circuit training having the potential to provide more comprehensive physical fitness development in physical education learning.

Abstract

The increasing cultural diversity in primary schools presents significant pedagogical challenges for physical education (PE) teachers. This study examines the difficulties experienced by PE teachers when working in multicultural learning environments and explores the strategies they employ to promote inclusive participation. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews and classroom observations involving two primary school PE teachers in culturally diverse. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis to identify recurring pattern and key themes. The findings indicate that language differences, varying cultural norms related to physical activity, and differing levels of prior sport experience influence classroom interaction and student engagement. Teachers responded to these challenges by adapting instructional methods, modifying activities, implementing cooperative learning models, and fostering culturally responsive communication. The study highlights the importance of intercultural competence and reflective teaching practices in creating equitable PE environments. These findings suggest that professional development programs should prioritize inclusive pedagogical strategies to better prepare teachers for multicultural classrooms.

Abstract

Modern volleyball is heavily influenced by the effectiveness of attacking techniques, as attacks are the primary strategy for scoring points and determining the outcome of a match. Therefore, analysing the effectiveness of various types of attacks is crucial for evaluating a team’s performance in a match. The objective of this study is to provide information about the most effective attacks used bye the Indonesian Men’s National Volleyball Team at the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 in Thailand. This study uses a quantitative approach, descriptive research type, where data collection techniques use non-participant observation, as well as secondary data sources obtained through videos from the MNCTV Sports YouTube channel, consisting of 4 videos of the 33rd SEA Games 2025 in Thailand. The research instrument uses a statistical form for open attack, quick attack, back attack, and service attack. The data analysis technique used descriptive percentages. The results of the study show that the most effective attacks are as follows: open attack has an attack effectiveness rate of 54.17%, quick attack has an attack effectiveness rate of 60.61%, back attack has an attack effectiveness rate of 55.79%, and service attack has an attack effectiveness rate of 3.91%. The conclusion of this study states that the most effective attacks used by the Indonesian Men’s National Volleyball Team at the 33rd SEA Games in 2025 in Thailand are quick attacks in first place, back attacks in second place, open attacks in third place, and service attacks in fourth place.

Abstract

Badminton is a popular sport in Indonesia and requires a thorough mastery of basic techniques to control the game and effectively place the shuttlecock in the opponent's court. One crucial technique is the drop shot, which demands precision, control, and high responsiveness, including reaction time, precise shot execution, and decision-making skills in game situations.This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of shadow training in improving the responsiveness of drop shots in badminton players. The method used was a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design, involving 23 eighth-grade students of MTs Islamiyah Tulungagung who were divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group underwent shadow training for six weeks at a frequency of once per week, while the control group received no special treatment. The research instrument was a drop shot accuracy test that measures reaction speed and shot accuracy. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential statistics, including the Shapiro–Wilk normality test and paired t-test. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase (sig. 0.001; the mean increased from 0.01 to 27.36), while the control group showed no significant increase (sig. 0.082). These findings confirm that shadow training is effective in improving the responsiveness of drop shots and supports the development of motor coordination, motor readiness, and technical quality of players. Therefore, shadow training can be recommended as a systematic and applicable training method for the overall development of badminton athletes' abilities.
