Abstract

Volleyball is a sport that requires a lot of physical fitness, but judging by the Pervos Kendal Club, their training methods appear to be mediocre. Furthermore, players frequently make errors when passing, especially when facing fast serves. This issue is believed to be related to arm muscle stability, but there is limited research evaluating specific physical factors in young female athletes aged 10 to 15. The purpose of this study is to analyze the contribution of arm strength to the lower passing ability in KU Youth female athletes at the Kendal Pervos Club. The type of research conducted was a correlational descriptive research using a correlation test to find out how much of a relationship between variables, with a sample of 15 KU Youth female athletes at the Pervos Kendal Club. The study was conducted by taking data on the strength of athletes' arm muscles using Modified Push-ups and taking athletes' lower passing data using the Brumbach Forearms Pass Wall-Volley Test. The results showed that the average push-up ability was 20.93 and the average lower passing was 24.60. Hypothesis test through simple linear regression revealed a significant influence with a significance value of 0.002 (p< 0.05) and indigo tcount of 3.818. The results of the determination coefficient showed that the strength of the arm muscles contributed 52.9% to the ability to pass the bottom. It can be concluded that the results of this study show that arm muscle strength has a significant and strong relationship with the ability to pass under volleyball in female athletes of KU Belia Klub Pervos Kendal.

Abstract

Girls' soccer in Indonesia still faces various challenges, such as gender stereotypes, limited facilities, and limited opportunities for competition. Therefore, organizing sports events specifically for girls' soccer is an important strategy in fostering interest and participation in girls from an early age. This study aims to describe the role of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Event in increasing interest in girls' soccer in Semarang City. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of participants, parents of participants, coaches, and organizers of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Event, selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques included participant observation, in depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis through data reduction, coding, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Event served as a medium for introducing women's soccer, a source of motivation to play, and a means of building positive experiences and confidence in participants. Organizing factors such as an age based competition system, a variety of activities, and environmental support contributed to strengthening participants' interest in soccer. This study concluded that the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Event served not only as a competition but also as a strategic tool in increasing interest in women's soccer in Semarang City.

Abstract

Physical education plays a crucial role in fostering students’ motor, cognitive, and social development at the elementary school level. In volleyball learning, underhand passing is a fundamental skill; however, many students experience difficulties due to conventional drill-based instruction that emphasizes repetition rather than conceptual understanding. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of implementing the Deep Learning model in improving underhand passing skills among sixth-grade students at Elementary School Cikeusik Rancakalong. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, consisting of three cycles: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 33 sixth-grade students. Data were collected through underhand passing skill tests and structured observation sheets, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis to determine the percentage of learning completeness in each cycle. The findings indicated a consistent and significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes. Learning completeness increased from 12.1% in the pre-cycle to 39.4% in Cycle I, 72.7% in Cycle II, and ultimately reached 90.9% in Cycle III, surpassing the predetermined classical mastery criterion. The results demonstrate that the Deep Learning model not only enhances technical execution but also strengthens students’ conceptual understanding, reflective thinking, and motor awareness. Students became more capable of identifying movement errors and adjusting body positioning effectively. In conclusion, the Deep Learning model provides a structured, student-centered, and reflective instructional approach that effectively improves underhand passing skills and contributes to the development of innovative and meaningful physical education practices in elementary schools.

Abstract

Competitive anxiety is a major problem that hinders the transformation of physical training results into competition performance, especially in arts categories that require precision of movement, appreciation, and consistency of power. Unlike sports psychology approaches that tend to be universal and Western-based, this study offers conceptual innovation through the synchronization of value-based emotional regulation (top-down) and physiological control through autogenic relaxation (bottom-up). This study aims to analyze the integration of Gusjigang local wisdom values (good character, smart recitation, and skilled trading) with the Autogenic Training technique as an ethnopsychology-based mental training model in improving the performance of IPSI Kudus martial artists. The study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with an ethnopsychological perspective. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five martial artists in the single, double, and team categories, then analyzed inductively through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing with source triangulation to maintain data validity. The results showed that the integration of Gusjigang and Autogenic Training was effective in reducing somatic anxiety symptoms, improving focus and body awareness, and maintaining stability of expression and movement accuracy. The value of “Bagus” serves as spiritual-based emotional regulation that builds inner peace, ‘Ngaji’ strengthens cognitive control and muscle memory fluency, while “Dagang” shapes strategic efficiency and energy management during the performance of martial arts moves. These findings confirm that culturally-based mental training models are not only contextually relevant but also contribute to the development of sports psychology literature rooted in local wisdom. Practically, this model can serve as a reference for IPSI coaches in designing adaptive, contextual, and sustainable mental strengthening programs.

Abstract

Breaststroke is one of the basic swimming styles most often learned by beginner athletes, but mastering the technique requires complex coordination between arm, leg and breathing movements. Innovation of audio-visual based training model is seen as a solution to increase the effectiveness of breaststroke technique learning. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of an audio-visual based breaststroke swimming training model for beginner athletes of elementary school (12–13 years old). This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were 66 athletes divided into experimental and control groups. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and swimming skills tests. Data analysis used descriptive statistics, normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain tests with the help of IBM SPSS Statistics 25. The results showed that the developed training model was declared valid by material experts and media experts with several revisions for improvement. The implementation of the model showed a significant increase in the experimental group (t = -10.566; p < 0.05) compared to the control group (t = -8.527; p < 0.05). Improved learning outcomes in the experimental group demonstrated that integrating audiovisual media and ground training strengthened athletes' mental representations and motor coordination. The developed model not only improved performance but also enhanced the quality of the learning process in a more interactive and systematic way.

Abstract

Gross motor development is important in physical education, but learning often still focuses on separate technical exercises. Therefore, large ball games can be a more effective strategy for improving students' motor skills. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of ball games in improving the gross motor skills of sixth-grade students at  Sadeng 03 Elementary School in Gunungpati District, Semarang City. The research method used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 29 students selected through purposive sampling. Data on gross motor skills were collected through motor agility tests, including shuttle runs, ball throwing and catching, stork stands, and 30-metre sprints, as well as measurements of basic football and volleyball techniques. Data analysis was performed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Paired t-Test, and N-Gain calculation. The results showed that the data were normally distributed (p = 0.137). The Paired t-Test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (p = 0.000), indicating a significant improvement in motor skills after the intervention, which was reinforced by the N-Gain results showing that 96.5% of students experienced moderate to high improvement. These findings indicate that learning through ball games effectively improves students' agility, coordination, balance, and speed. Improvements were also seen in motor tests without balls, such as shuttle runs, stork stands, 30-metre sprints, and ball throwing and catching, making them relevant and effective for optimising the gross motor skills of primary school students.

Abstract

Physical Education, Sports, and Health (  PE ) lessons in primary schools require imaginative teaching methods that are well suited to children's nature and current developments. This study aims to develop and test the effectiveness of Creative Energy Gymnastics as PE teaching material, particularly for rhythmic activities. The method used is Research and Development (R&D), which combines quantitative and qualitative elements. Data was collected through several techniques, such as observation, questionnaires, surveys, and assessment sheets, then analysed using descriptive methods in the form of percentages and qualitative analysis. The product was tested in two stages, first on a small scale, then on a large scale. The results were very positive, with interest and satisfaction levels reaching 68.75%, movement comprehension reaching 80.01%, gymnastics benefits reaching 75.37%, and attitude and cooperation reaching 80.01%, all of which were classified as good. Finally, Creative Energy Gymnastics was deemed very suitable as an innovative teaching method for physical education that is appropriate for primary school children.

Abstract

Technological advancements necessitate a shift in education, especially in physical education, which sometimes remains confined to gross motor skills without enhancing cognitive processes. This study seeks to analyze and assess the role of Deep Learning (DL) technology within Artificial Intelligence (AI) in enhancing the quality of physical education instruction based on Bloom's Taxonomy framework. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following the PRISMA standards. Data were collected through the Google Scholar, Scopus, and Elsevier databases using the Publish or Perish tool, which produced 10 selected articles to be synthesized after undergoing a rigorous selection process. The study's results indicate that the incorporation of Deep Learning can elevate learning from simple imitation of movement to profound analytical comprehension. The use of algorithms such as ResNet-101 and 3D pose estimation enables precise biomechanical analysis and objective performance evaluation that supports higher-order thinking skills (HOTS). In conclusion, this technology acts as a catalyst in achieving physical literacy and student learning independence. The integration of AI with student-centered pedagogical strategies is the key to the future of holistic physical education.

Abstract

Handball demands that athletes must develop their forearm muscles to succeed at throwing and catching and defending their positions. The research study aimed to assess and compare two weight training methods which included straight sets and supersets to determine their effects on Semarang handball players' forearm strength. The research used a quasi-experimental design which included a control group that participated in pretests and posttests with 25 athletes as study subjects. The subjects were made to undergo a program lasting 6 weeks in which they performed all their exercises on the principle of alternation between straight sets and supersets. The participants were divided into two groups with 12 members in the first group and 13 members in the second group. The researchers used a hand grip dynamometer to measure strength levels because it provided measurement data in kilograms which they obtained before the study and after the study. The statistical analysis used paired and independent sample t-tests at a significance level of  α = 0.05 to show that both training methods produced significant strength gains. The data showed that superset training produced greater improvements than straight set training according to the results. Coaches who want to help their athletes develop forearm muscles should use both methods because both techniques provide value but superset training delivers better results.

Abstract

Observations of kabaddi players or athletes in Central Java reveal weaknesses in applying this technique on the field, particularly regarding maintaining a safe distance and strength. This study aims to explore the effect of lunge jump training on the back kick technique used by Kabaddi players in Central Java Province in 2025. This study is a quantitative study using an experimental method. It employs a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The study involved 30 kabaddi athletes in Central Java as the sample or research subjects. The instrument used in this study was a test to measure the distance of backward kicks. The data analysis techniques in this study include prerequisite tests: normality and homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing: the Paired Sample T-Test. The results of this study show that the average backward kick distance during the pre-test was 72.45 cm, and the average backward kick distance during the post-test was 79.20 cm.The normality test results showed that the data had a normal distribution (p > 0.05), and the homogeneity test proved that the variance of the data was consistent. The paired sample t-test resulted in a significant value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that lunge jump training improved the back kick technique of Kabaddi players in Central Java Province.
