Abstract

A number of studies have highlighted the importance of integrating Islamic values in science and social learning in madrasahs, but studies that specifically address the Islamisation of mathematics are still very limited. Most of the current MI curriculum adopts a competency-based approach with very little exploration of the relationship between mathematical concepts and Islamic teachings. This study aims to identify Qur'anic verses related to mathematical concepts, analyse the urgency of applying the Islamisation approach in mathematics learning, and formulate strategies for the integration of Islamic values in the MI mathematics curriculum. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interview method. The research was conducted in several MIs that have implemented or attempted to integrate Islamic values in mathematics learning in West Bandung and Makassar. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers, academics and curriculum experts. The interviews were semi-structured to allow the respondents the freedom to express their views in depth. This research highlights the importance of integrating Islamic values in mathematics learning in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah through the Islamisation of science approach. The results showed that although mathematical concepts in the Qur'an have long been recognised, the implementation of the Islamisation approach in the MI curriculum is still limited. Concrete steps are needed to adopt the Islamisation of science approach in mathematics learning in MI. The government and Islamic education institutions need to work together to develop a more integrative curriculum, provide textbooks that reflect the integration of science and Islamic values, and organise training for educators.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the da’wah strategy implemented by the Majelis Taklim Contact Body (BKMT) of Teramang Jaya District in strengthening Islamic brotherhood. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, this study collected data through observation, interviews, and documentation from BKMT administrators and members. The results show that BKMT implements a holistic da’wah strategy called the 4T strategy, namely: Ta’aruf (getting to know each other), Tafahum (understanding each other), Ta’awun (helping each other), and Takafu (bearing each other). These four pillars are interconnected and have succeeded in creating a strong brotherhood among members. Despite inhibiting factors such as busy schedules and geographical challenges, this strategy is supported by solid management and active member participation. This study concludes that BKMT's 4T strategy is effective in establishing Islamic brotherhood at the local level, and provides an important contribution to the development of an adaptive non-formal da’wah model.

Abstract

Limited teacher understanding, weak team coordination, and the absence of a systematic curriculum management pattern are the main obstacles to the implementation of the Pancasila and Rahmatan lil Alamin Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5PPRA) with the theme Voice of Democracy in madrasas. This study aims to analyze in-depth the management of the Independent Curriculum at MTsN 6 Jombang, including the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages, as well as identifying supporting and inhibiting factors. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with the madrasah principal, deputy head of curriculum, coordinators, facilitators, and students. The results show that curriculum management is implemented in a structured and flexible manner, with the integration of Pancasila and moderate Islamic values through contextual project-based learning, such as market days and democratic decision-making simulations. Supporting factors include adequate facilities, full support from the madrasah community, and close collaboration between parties. Psychological barriers between teachers and students can be overcome through intensive mentoring. This research contributes theoretically to the field of curriculum management in Islamic education by offering a character project management model based on the integration of national and religious values that is applicable and can serve as a practical reference for other madrasahs. The research findings indicate that adaptive and collaborative curriculum management can increase student engagement, strengthen character, and develop social skills relevant to real life

Abstract

Livebirths and stillbirths are key public health indicators, with significant social and economic consequences. This study employs time series modeling to analyze quarterly records of livebirths and stillbirths obtained fom Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), Ile-Ife, Nigeria, covering the period from 2001 to 2020. The Augmented Dickey Fuller test confirmed the stationarity of the series, after which the Autocorrelation (ACF) and Partial Autocorrelation (PACF) functions were examined, identify suitable ARMA models. Model selection was guided by the Akaike Information criteria (AIC), Bayesian Information Criterion (BIC), and Hannan Quinn Criterion (HQIC). The models with the lowest information criteria ARMA (2,3) for livebirths and ARMA(1,3) for stillbirths were selected as optimal. Diagnostic checks revealed no significant autocorrelation in the residuals with ACF and PACF plots showing values close to zero across lags, confirming model adequacy and reliability. Forecast results indicate that livebirths will experience short term fluctuations before reaching a stable trend while stillbirth are projected to remain relatively constant at approximately 30 cases per quarter, though with broader confidence intervals at the start of the forest. The relatively low R2 values, particularly for stillbirths suggest that other unobserved variables such as healthcare accessibility, maternal risk factors and socio-economic conditions may also influence outcomes. Overall, the study emphasizes the importance of continuous improvements in maternal and child healthcare as well as the value of data driven decision making for public health planning and intervention.

Abstract

This study explores the presence of social conflict in literature as a reflection of real-world societal tensions. Literature has long been intertwined with society, often serving as a mirror that reveals the complexities of human relationships and communal life. Among the various types of conflict depicted in literary works, social conflict stands out due to its close connection to the human condition. As inherently social beings, individuals naturally encounter friction within their communities, making social conflict an inevitable and meaningful theme. In this context, literature not only reflects but also encourages critical engagement with social issues. It serves as an educational tool, particularly in the classroom, by raising awareness of the types of conflict that may arise in real-life contexts. This research applies Louis Kriesberg’s social conflict theory to analyze the novel Small Mercies by Dennis Lehane, offering a distinctive theoretical lens compared to prior studies. A qualitative method with narrative analysis was employed. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using Creswell’s framework. The findings reveal three primary causes of social conflict in the novel: rank disequilibrium, changes in attainments and expectations, and power inequality. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of how literature portrays and critiques social dynamics.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of the surcharge scheme in the Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) system within the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) from the perspectives of Islamic law and educational management. The rapid development of digital payment technology has shifted the burden of transaction costs, initially borne solely by merchants, to also include consumers. This shift raises questions of justice, transparency, and compliance with Islamic principles. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach through literature study, the research integrates normative-theological analysis with educational management perspectives. The findings reveal that, from an Islamic legal standpoint, surcharge practices are permissible as long as they are conducted transparently, based on mutual consent, and do not lead to injustice. From the perspective of educational management, this issue can be integrated into curricula as part of Islamic financial literacy and further developed through case-based learning methods. Therefore, the transformation of the MDR QRIS system not only affects the economic sphere but also has strategic implications for Islamic education management.

Abstract

The article reviews how historians can balance objectivity with subjectivity in their assessment of historical evidence, which is arguably the major theme in both historiography and in the philosophy of history: How does one write history with epistemic integrity while recognizing and accepting that the discipline is interpretively mediated? The article engages the theoretical work of Leopold von Ranke, E. H. Carr, Hayden White, Frank Ankersmit, and Michael Novick, while also placing their debates within broader philosophical and historiographical frameworks. The outcome of this discussion positions that objectivity and subjectivity are not mutually exclusive; that is, a disciplined acknowledgment of subjectivity, via reflexively engaging with sources, narrative decisions, and interpretative frameworks, enhances methodological rigor and provides a transparent history to the past. Thus, while the discussion is theoretical, examples of the reflexive subjectivity in action span from Ranke's work in the archives and diplomatic accounts to studies of Holocaust testimony and colonial memory. The study advances a model of disciplined subjectivity as a methodological bridge between objectivity and interpretation, enabling historians to produce coherent, transparent, and ethically responsible narratives

Abstract

Globalization has significantly reshaped contemporary education through digitalization, transnational knowledge circulation, and global normative frameworks, compelling Islamic education to adapt while preserving its moral and spiritual foundations. Although existing studies discuss globalization, Islamic education reform, and human rights separately, there remains a lack of systematic synthesis integrating these dimensions. This study addresses this gap by conducting a PRISMA-based Systematic Literature Review of peer-reviewed journal articles (2015–2025) indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Using thematic synthesis guided by the maqāṣid al-sharīʿah framework, the review analyzes how globalization drives paradigm shifts in Islamic education and shapes and mediates the integration of human rights principles. The findings reveal a transition toward learner-centered pedagogy, competency-based curricula, and adaptive institutional governance aligned with ḥifẓ al-ʿaql, while human rights integration remains uneven and often normative. Maqāṣid-based reasoning emerges as a key mediating framework that contextualizes human rights within Islamic educational values. The study highlights the need for maqāṣid-oriented policies and governance reforms to ensure that globalization and human rights advance intellectual development, dignity, justice, and moral responsibility in Islamic education.
