Abstract

Learning is a process of educational interaction that occurs between teachers and students, and one of the components that determines its success is learning media. Using appropriate media in learning activities is one way to achieve the learning objectives you want to achieve. The diversity of upakara plants can be used as a natural learning medium in conveying plant biodiversity material in biology learning at school. The use of upakara plants as a learning medium can provide direct experience to students, giving a complete and meaningful impression of various plant variations based on characteristics that can be observed by involving all the five senses. Students not only receive information, but are actively involved in exploring, seeking and discovering new experiences to be able to construct their own knowledge. Therefore, the use of upakara plants found in the surrounding environment acts as a natural medium that can help develop all students' potential in understanding and recognizing the types of plants in nature. Apart from that, students are also able to apply their understanding of the importance of plant biodiversity, as well as apply the principles of grouping living things (taxonomy) based on observable characteristics, so as to facilitate learning activities, especially on plant biodiversity material.

Abstract

Abstract. The aim of the research is to determine the behavioral tendencies of Balinese people in the millennial era regarding their understanding and behavior in using bamboo for life based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy. This type of quantitative descriptive research, data acquisition using survey techniques, on purposive samples throughout Bali. Research data was analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistics. The results of the research show that in the palemahan field, the tradition of using bamboo materials is still very strong, namely 24.17% very often; often as much as 48.9%, and rarely as much as 21.1%. So as many as 94.1% of people still use bamboo. In the Pawongan sector, especially for medicine, there are still many people who do not know that bamboo material can be used as medicine. From the respondents' answers, 37.41% said they didn't know, or rarely used it. Meanwhile, in the field of parahyangan, the use of bamboo is still very large, namely 100%, meaning that the tradition of using bamboo is still very strong among the Balinese people.

Abstract

The research objectives are to (1) define the basic concepts of ethnobiopedagogy, (2) determine the relevance of local wisdom in preserving biodiversity, (3) determine strategies and forms of integration of ethnobiopedagogy in education and conservation. (4) to find out the challenges and opportunities in its implementation. To achieve this goal, a theoretical literature review was carried out using sources relevant to material on the conservation of biological natural resources based on ethnobiopedagogy (ethnobiology, pedagogy). Conclusions from the theoretical study include: (a) Ethnobiopedagogy is a strategy, an innovative approach in the conservation of biological resources that focuses on the field of education by integrating ethnic values, pedagogy and biology. (b) Local wisdom in preserving biodiversity has very strong and deep relevance. (c) Integration of Ethnobiopedagogy in Education and Conservation, as an intersection of at least three components, namely formal and non-formal education; forms of local wisdom traditions that still exist; and use of Information and Communication Technology. (d) Challenges in implementing Ethnobiopedagogy, namely low human resources, lack of curriculum integration, and the threat of modernization to local wisdom practices.

Abstract

Abstract

Nature conservation provides many benefits to life. Caring for and protecting the surrounding environment will give good results because humans, plants and animals are a unit that needs each other. Efforts that can be made in maintaining the conservation of the surrounding environment can start from the yard of the house where we live. A home yard can be a form of biodiversity conservation by utilizing land to grow various types of plants, including fruit and medicinal plants, as well as raising pets such as chickens and fish. This utilization can indirectly be an opportunity in the development of a family business.

Abstract

City parks are public facilities as green open spaces (RTH) that have social, ecological, conservation and aesthetic functions as a means for recreational activities, sports, education, research and social activities. The purpose of this study is to determine and examine the function and existence of plant diversity in Sewaka Dharma City Park, Denpasar. Sewaka Dharma City Park has an area of 2.5 ha, located on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Dauh Puri Kaja Village, North Denpasar District, in one area of the Denpasar City government center. The existence of a very strategic city park equipped with sports facilities, play facilities and social facilities, planted with various types of plants and trees that are neatly arranged, providing a beautiful, shady, comfortable and beautiful atmosphere.

Abstract

Biology is a sub-field of natural science that focuses on studying living things, including humans, animals, and plants, and their interactions with the environment. This field is based on ideas that can be felt through the use of scientific methods. In applying scientific methods in Biology learning, synergy between all parts of the brain is absolutely necessary so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally. In the brain there are three ways of thinking, namely rational intelligence, emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. The three intelligences are divided into two hemispheres of the brain, namely the left brain and the right brain. Learning a field of science that also implicitly must instill hard skills and soft skills, should optimize the function of all parts of the brain to express the three aspects of intelligence. The cooperative learning model is very relevant to optimizing brain function, because there is cooperation to help each other, tolerate each other, and motivate each other so that harmony is created. The humanities aspect in learning also needs to be created. The learning environment also needs to be attempted to create a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable learning situation to be able to optimize the function of the right brain to support the work of the left brain in processing learning materials
