Abstract

Elementary school-age children are ideally expected to make nutritious snack choices to support their growth and development. However, in reality, many still exhibit low nutrition literacy, unhealthy snacking behaviors, and inadequate nutrient intake, all of which may influence their nutritional status. This study aims to analyze the relationship between nutrition literacy, healthy snack selection behavior, and nutrient adequacy with the nutritional status of elementary school students. The study employed a correlational survey design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 42 students were selected using probability random sampling. Data on nutrition literacy and snack selection behavior were collected using structured questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Nutrient adequacy was assessed using the SQ-FFQ, and nutritional status was measured using BMI-for-age indicators. Data analysis was conducted using cross-tabulation and Spearman Rank correlation tests. The results showed no significant relationship between nutrition literacy and nutritional status (p = 0.051), but there were significant associations between healthy snack selection behavior (p = 0.023) and nutrient adequacy (p = 0.000) with nutritional status. These findings suggest that actual dietary behavior and fulfillment of daily nutrient needs have a stronger influence on nutritional status than knowledge alone. Therefore, nutrition interventions for schoolchildren should focus not only on improving literacy but also on fostering sustainable healthy eating habits.

Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (type 2 DM) is a chronic metabolic disease that requires long-term pharmacotherapy. Inappropriate medication use can lead to Drug-Related Problems (DRPs), which can affect the success of therapy. This study used a retrospective descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach. Data were obtained from the medical records of 50 patients with type 2 DM who were hospitalized between July and September 2024. DRPs were identified based on the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists (ASHP) classification. The results showed that most patients were female (56%) with a dominant age of 50–59 years. The most frequently prescribed antidiabetic drug was metformin (40.7%), followed by insulin (33.72%), and glimepiride (13.95%). The most common types of DRPs were drug interactions (95.65%), and one case of inappropriate drug selection (4.35%). The conclusion of the study is that the use of drugs in type 2 DM patients in this hospital is generally in accordance with the guidelines, however there is still the potential for DRPs, especially in the form of drug interactions.

Abstract

The Early Warning and Response System (SKDR) is a system that functions in detecting the threat of indications of infectious disease outbreaks reported weekly on a computer-based basis, which can display alerts or early warning signals of an increase in disease cases exceeding the threshold value in an area. The purpose of this study was to determine the Evaluation of the Implementation of the Early Vigilance and Response System as an effort to early detection of outbreak (KLB) at the Lembang Health Center, this research can be used as a source of information to understand and analyze the Early warnings and Response System (SKDR), the type of research used in this study is descriptive with a qualitative research design, researchers use triagulation collection techniques or a combination of observation, interview and documentation. The results of data analysis from this study are an evaluation of the implementation of input indicators, the workforce is sufficient as evidenced by having conducted training 3 times, the funds are still not enough if adjusted to the existing alerts, the supporting facilities are adequate but the problem is that the refrigerator as one of the supporting sample storage is still not optimal, in the process indicators have been carried out optimally even though data collection from clinics is still a challenge, while the output indicators are very good with the accuracy and completeness of the data reaching 100%

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between food security and the nutritional status of toddlers in Parepare City. This study used a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 100 households with toddlers randomly selected in 5 sub-districts in Parepare City. Food security data was measured using the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES), while toddler nutritional status was measured using anthropometric indicators (weight/height and weight/age). Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test to examine the relationship between food security variables and toddler nutritional status. The results showed a significant relationship between food security and toddler nutritional status in Parepare City (p-value <0.05). The worse the food security, the higher the likelihood of toddlers experiencing malnutrition. This study provides recommendations for local governments to improve household food security through economic empowerment programs and nutrition education

Abstract

ABSTRACT Anemia remains a significant public health issue among pregnant women in Indonesia, with a reported prevalence of approximately 27.7% in 2023. This condition elevates the risk of pregnancy complications and maternal mortality. This study aimed to analyze factors associated with anemia occurrence among pregnant women attending Wonoasih Public Health Center, Probolinggo City. Using a cross-sectional design, data were collected from 60 respondents through questionnaires and secondary records. The analysis revealed no significant association between anemia and maternal age, education level, or parity. However, third-trimester pregnancy (p = 0.021), undernutrition status (p < 0.001), low knowledge about anemia (p < 0.001), and a history of anemia (p = 0.005) were significantly related to anemia incidence. These findings highlight that inadequate nutritional intake, limited awareness, and previous anemia increase the risk of anemia during pregnancy. Therefore, prevention strategies should emphasize nutrition-focused interventions, continuous health education, and targeted monitoring of high-risk groups. Keywords: anaemia, risk factors, pregnancy, epidemiology ABSTRAK Angka prevalensi anemia ibu hamil di Indonesia tercatat sekitar 27,7% menurut data survei tahun 2023.
