Abstract

Medicinal plants are one of the efforts used to control disease. The benefits of medicinal plants have been passed down from generation to generation by our ancestors. One plant that has medicinal properties is green grass jelly (Cyclea barbata Miers). In this research, the extraction method used was maceration, with 96% ethanol solvent. The ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves was screened for phytochemicals and tested for toxicity using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. Toxicity tests were carried out at various concentrations of 100 ppm, 250 ppm, 500 ppm, 750 ppm and 1000 ppm. The results of the analysis of secondary metabolites contained in the ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves are alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and steroids. In the toxicity test, the highest average death percentage was obtained at the 1000 ppm extract concentration variation of 73.33%. From the probit and log concentration data, a linear regression equation y = was obtained with an LC 50 value of 558,25 ppm. This shows that the 96% ethanol extract of green grass jelly leaves (Cyclea barbata Miers) has toxic potential because the LC 50 value is in the range of 30-1000 ppm.

Abstract

The Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) is a program aimed at optimizing the appropriate use of antibiotics in various healthcare institutions. A key requirement for implementing ASP is the presence of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including pharmacists, due to their expertise in pharmacotherapy and knowledge of antimicrobials. This literature review aims to highlight the optimal role of pharmacists in enhancing ASP to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Asia. Research articles were retrieved using the PUBMED database with the keywords “antimicrobial stewardship program,” “pharmacist,” and “Asia,” combined with the Boolean operator “AND.” A total of eight research articles were included in the final review. No published evidence on ASP implementation in Indonesia was found. Pharmacist interventions in ASP activities were highly effective in several aspects, including improving antibiotic prescribing in accordance with the 5R principles (right drug, right dose, right route of administration, right timing, and right duration of antibiotic use), reducing hospital length of stay, lowering costs associated with antibiotic use or procurement, decreasing the proportion of adverse events related to antimicrobials, among others. Encouraging pharmacist involvement in ASP requires institutions to identify their specific gaps and challenges, particularly in Asia, and specifically in the Republic of Indonesia, to enable the direct implementation of the pharmacist's role in ASP.

Abstract

Red rice bran contains various secondary metabolite compounds. The phenolic compound content in red rice bran has high antioxidant activity which has the potential to be used in solid soap preparations to protect the skin from free radicals. The research aimed to formulate red rice bran extract into a solid soap preparation that has antioxidant activity. Extraction was carried out by maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. The viscous extract obtained was subjected to phytochemical screening. Solid soap formulation with the addition of various extract concentrations of 1.5%, 2% and 2.5%. Antioxidant activity testing was carried out using the DPPH method. The research result showed that red rice bran extract had very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 18,164 ppm, then it can be formulated into soap preparations that have antioxidant activity. The highest antioxidant activity in solid soap preparations varied in concentration of 2.5% red rice bran extract (F3) with an IC50 value of 526.80 ppm, 2% concentration (F2) with an IC 50 value of 664.28 ppm, and the lowest in variations concentration of 1.5% (F1) with an IC 50 value of 5042.20 ppm. The physical quality characteristics of solid soap preparations from red rice bran extract (organoleptic characteristics, pH, free alkali, free fatty acids and foam height) met the requirement in accordance with SNI quality requirements for solid soap preparations.

Abstract

In this research, a website-based E-farms drug inventory system was designed for pharmacies using the Agile method. Website-based e-farms make it easy for officers to search and store drug data online, as well as increasing pharmacy operational efficiency. The Agile method was chosen because of its flexibility and adaptability, as well as its focus on collaboration between the development team and stakeholders. The application of agile development methods (Scrum model) which is iterative, fast, adaptive, and actively involves users in information system development activities, has been proven to be able to produce information systems that suit user needs in a short time. The results of this research are in the form of an inventory information system to handle input data which is then processed to produce output in the form of reports. The design and creation of a computerized web-based Pharmacy Information System is expected to cover all data collection on drug stocks, suppliers, customers and ongoing transactions to make it easier, effective and efficient.
