Abstract

This study aims to synthesize empirical evidence on the influence of leadership style and organizational culture on employee performance, with a focus on the mediating role of work engagement in the banking industry context. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, the literature search was conducted across various databases using strict inclusion-exclusion criteria. Out of 69 identified records, 7 relevant original studies were successfully included. The results of the qualitative synthesis indicate a strong consensus that effective leadership styles and supportive organizational cultures positively and significantly affect employee performance, and this effect is largely mediated by work engagement. Work engagement has been shown to be a key mechanism that translates management practices into optimal performance outcomes. Descriptive quantitative analysis shows that the majority of studies use the SEM method and find both full mediation and partial mediation. These findings provide practical implications for bank management in Surabaya to prioritize strategies for enhancing work enthusiasm as a strategic investment to drive performance.

Abstract

Employee productivity is a strategic factor for companies in facing increasingly competitive business competition. Various studies show that modern human resource management (HR) practices have a significant effect on employee motivation and performance. This study aims to analyze the relationship between HR practices, work motivation, and productivity in public sector companies in Indonesia. The study used mixed methods by involving 180 respondents through surveys and in-depth interviews with HR practitioners. Quantitative analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and linear regression. The results showed that work motivation was in the high category (mean = 4.12) and had a strong relationship with productivity (r = 0.71; p < 0.01). Qualitative findings identified the main obstacles to increasing motivation, namely low management support, limited training budgets, and suboptimal internal communication. This research emphasizes the importance of the role of strategic HR in creating a work environment that is able to increase employee motivation and productivity. This study contributes to strengthening the literature on Indonesian HR management and provides practical implications for companies in designing performance improvement interventions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Service Quality, Service Facilities, Work Discipline, and Employee Competence on Community Satisfaction in Leteh Urban Village, Rembang. The approach used is quantitative, employing multiple linear regression analysis to measure the relationship between these variables. The research involved the community population of Leteh Urban Village with a sample of 100 respondents. The research findings indicate that the relationship between Service Quality and Service Facilities on Community Satisfaction is positive but not statistically significant. Meanwhile, the relationship between Work Discipline and Employee Competence on Community Satisfaction is positive and statistically significant. Therefore, increasing community satisfaction needs to be carried out through strategic steps, such as: tightening Service SOPs, conducting intensive training so that all staff provide uniformly excellent service, and introducing a touch of personalization. Furthermore, efforts should include increasing routine maintenance and cleanliness so that all facilities function optimally, and adding truly relevant and modern features, such as accelerating digitalization (e.g., digital queuing systems or fast Wi-Fi). These efforts are expected to foster a harmonious working relationship among the community members, thereby supporting and enhancing overall community satisfaction.

Abstract

This study researched the food cost variance at Novotel Karawang from July to December 2024 in order to evaluate the effectiveness of food cost management. The study centered on the five top-selling menus by analyzing the actual costs in comparison with standard costs, with a specific focus on the price, quantity, also both joint price and quantity variations. The methodology chosen was quantitative descriptive, leveraging secondary data from the hotel's finance and accounting department. The results showed that actual costs were consistently higher than standard costs, with four out of the five menus showing unfavorable overall variances. Unfavorable prices variations caused on by fluctuating market prices and unfavorable quantity variances caused on by inefficient raw material use were the main causes. Nonetheless, one menu showed a positive overall variance, indicating the possibility of efficient cost management. The research results suggest that in order to reduce cost inefficiencies, Novotel Karawang's management ought to prioritize continuous supervision of purchasing strategies and operational processes top priority. A useful methodology for locating and resolving food cost variations in the hospitality sector is offered by this study.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted several sectors, including the aviation industry, prompting company management to implement adaptive strategies such as cost efficiency to maintain operational continuity and financial health. This study uses a quantitative approach to examine differences in financial performance during and after the Covid-19 pandemic as a result of the implementation of a cost leadership strategy. Using secondary data from the annual report of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, for the 2020–2024 period, the analysis used the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results show no significant difference in cost leadership between the pandemic and post-pandemic periods (Sig. 0.686), indicating consistent implementation. However, financial performance, as measured by Net Profit Margin, showed a significant difference (Sig. 0.043), increasing from a minimum value of –155% during the pandemic to a maximum of 30% post-pandemic. These findings suggest that there is a significant difference in financial performance due to the implementation of a cost leadership strategy, which plays a role in supporting recovery and improving financial performance after the crisis.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Bali, specifically focusing on the influence of the film "Ticket to Paradise" in strengthening Bali's image as a cultural tourism destination globally. The purpose of this study was to analyze the film's impact on tourist perceptions and its contribution to strengthening Bali's cultural appeal through visual media. The benefits of this research are twofold: academic benefits in strengthening the literature in the field of tourism and media communication, and practical benefits for tourism stakeholders in optimizing film as a destination promotion tool. The method used in this study was a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with informants from diverse backgrounds. The results indicate that the film "Ticket to Paradise" has a positive impact in five main aspects: increased tourist interest, influence on travel preferences, promotional cost efficiency, enhanced positive image through visuals, and long-term economic opportunities. However, the findings also indicate that this influence is not fully distributed, primarily because the film was not produced directly in Bali, thus suboptimal local economic opportunities. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of synergy between the local film and tourism industries in promoting sustainable and authentic cultural destination promotion through media communication.

Abstract

The disparity between education levels and job availability in Indonesia, coupled with the suboptimal impact of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) dynamics on unemployment figures, primarily drives the increase in labor migration abroad. This study aims to analyze the extent to which education level, unemployment rate, and GDP influence the decision of Indonesian citizens to migrate overseas during the 1995-2024 period. A quantitative approach employing multiple linear regression analysis (OLS method) was utilized, supported by Eviews 12 software and secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and World Development Indicator. The research findings indicate that, simultaneously, education level and unemployment significantly affect migration. However, when examined partially, only education level and unemployment show a significant influence, while GDP does not significantly impact migration. The results suggest that improving education quality and aligning it with job creation strategies within Indonesia could reduce the trend of labor migration. Ultimately, policies aimed at both enhancing education and fostering employment opportunities domestically could mitigate the flow of labor migration abroad.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how inflation and stock prices influence the financial performance of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2020 to 2024. During the pandemic, the manufacturing sector faced considerable economic pressure due to mobility restrictions and supply chain disruptions. In the post-pandemic period, the sector continued to encounter challenges, particularly rising inflation and shifts in market conditions. This research adopts a quantitative approach. The data used are secondary data obtained from official macroeconomic publications and companies’ annual financial reports. In this study, inflation and stock prices serve as the independent variables, while financial performance is measured using Return on Assets (ROA). The data are analyzed using multiple linear regression to assess both partial and simultaneous effects. The findings indicate that inflation does not have a significant effect on ROA, whereas stock prices have a positive and significant impact on the financial performance of manufacturing firms. Simultaneously, inflation and stock prices together influence ROA, although the explanatory power of the model remains moderate. These results suggest that during periods of economic disruption and recovery, market indicators reflected in stock prices play a more prominent role in shaping corporate financial performance than macroeconomic inflationary pressures.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) is a national strategic initiative aimed at improving students’ nutritional status and strengthening human resource quality. However, the large budget allocation and implementation complexity require effective, transparent, and accountable governance. This study aims to analyze the governance of the MBG Program in Kupang City based on management, transparency, and accountability aspects. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, including representatives from the Education Office, SPPG, schools, and student beneficiaries. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model and validated through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings indicate that administratively the program implementation complies with technical guidelines; however, substantive gaps remain. Menu planning is centralized and minimally participatory, procurement and distribution mechanisms have not fully met transparency and quality control standards, student socialization is limited, and reporting as well as complaint handling systems remain internally oriented and insufficiently documented. Therefore, the governance of the MBG Program in Kupang City is still predominantly administrative in nature and requires strengthened participation, transparency, and integrated oversight systems to ensure sustainable impacts on students’ nutritional improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the Bersaudara Farmers Group in increasing agricultural production in Oelbubuk Village, Mollo Tengah District, Timor Tengah Selatan Regency, and to identify the inhibiting factors. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, involving the village head, agricultural extension officer, group management, members, and community representatives. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the Bersaudara Farmers Group has functioned as a learning class through training, counseling, mentoring activities, and the adoption of innovations such as cultivator use and banana-leaf pot trays, which improved efficiency and reduced production costs. As a cooperation forum, the group established partnerships with government agencies and other institutions that contributed to increased production and land expansion, although some collaborations were temporary. As a production unit, the group provided agricultural facilities and facilitated marketing to inter-regional markets; however, collective product storage remains suboptimal and overproduction occurs during peak harvest periods. Inhibiting factors include weak institutional management, low member participation, limited capital, internal conflicts, limited water access, price instability, and climate and pest disturbances. It is concluded that although the group’s role has been implemented, it is not yet optimal and requires institutional strengthening and better production planning to achieve sustainable agricultural production improvement.
