Abstract

The role of Islamic banks in building partnerships to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 17 in West Sumatra. This point emphasizes the importance of collaboration between various parties to achieve inclusive, sustainable, and equitable development. As financial institutions based on Islamic principles, Islamic banks have a social responsibility to play an active role in community economic empowerment and strengthen cross-sector collaboration, particularly in the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector. This research used a descriptive qualitative method with secondary data obtained from the financial reports of Islamic banks in West Sumatra from 2021 to 2023. The results indicate that Islamic banks play a role in building partnerships through various financing schemes such as murabahah, mudharabah, and musyarakah. Furthermore, Islamic banks also establish strategic partnerships with local governments, businesses, and local communities to strengthen financial literacy, expand financial inclusion, and promote economic equality within the community based on Islamic values. Despite their significant contribution, Islamic banks still face challenges such as low public understanding of Islamic financial products, limited technology and human resources, and suboptimal synergy between institutions. Therefore, regulatory strengthening, innovation in Islamic banking services, and support from all stakeholders are needed to ensure effective partnerships and maximize their contribution to achieving the SDGs in West Sumatra.

Abstract

The dense tourism activities in urban coastal areas such as Taman Impian Jaya Ancol create complex ecological consequences, particularly in waste management, which directly affects environmental quality and the image of the tourism destination. The cleanliness issue in this area not only impacts aesthetic aspects but also reflects the effectiveness of destination governance. Tourism sustainability is difficult to achieve if waste management systems fail to adapt to the dynamic behavior of visitors and increasing environmental pressures. This condition raises a fundamental question regarding what kind of waste management strategy can be effectively implemented to support sustainable tourism in the Ancol tourism area, and how policies, infrastructure, and community participation contribute to this effort. This study aims to analyze waste management strategies in the Ancol Tourism Area within the context of sustainable tourism development. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on thirty journals related to waste management practices in coastal tourism areas. The analysis was conducted through identification, selection, and synthesis of data to understand management patterns and implementation challenges. The findings show that successful waste management is influenced by infrastructure availability, community participation, regulatory consistency, and adaptive technological innovation. The recommended strategies include a dynamic-load cleaning management system, community-based monitoring system, mini waste stations, circular economy principles, and cross-sector collaborative governance. These findings emphasize the importance of integrating technical and social strategies to strengthen waste management systems and promote coastal destination sustainability.

Abstract

This research aims to study and deconstruct the traditional Indonesian dish known as kue apem, which becomes a petit four product expected to meet the standards of presentation in star-rated hotels. Apem, as a typical Indonesian dessert, is generally served simply. The deconstruction process includes modifications to the shape, appearance, size, texture, and taste while maintaining the traditional flavors. This research uses research and development (R&D) with a 4D model, namely (define, design, development, and dissemination). The instrument used in data collection is a questionnaire distributed to 25 panelists of lecturers and students of the Prima Internasional Tourism Polytechnic. The trial in this study used hedonic testing, which examines preferences for color, taste, texture, aroma, and appearance. The results of the study show that modifying apem cake into petit four products can enhance their attractiveness. In conclusion, the aspects of color, taste, aroma, texture, and appearance are acceptable to consumers. This study is expected to provide new references for the culinary and hospitality industries.

Abstract

Health is a fundamental right guaranteed by the state; however, poor communities still face significant challenges in financing healthcare due to high out-of-pocket (OOP) expenditures. According to the 2022 National Health Accounts (NHA) data, the OOP proportion in Indonesia reached 30.6% of total national health expenditures—exceeding the World Health Organization (WHO) safety threshold of 20%. This condition indicates that the financial burden of healthcare remains heavy, particularly for low-income groups, even though they are beneficiaries of the National Health Insurance – Contribution Assistance Recipients (Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional – Penerima Bantuan Iuran or JKN-PBI). The National Socioeconomic Survey (SUSENAS) of March 2024 revealed that 51.20% of residents in Banten Province who experienced health complaints chose not to seek treatment, citing transportation costs and the long distance to healthcare facilities as primary reasons. These non-medical barriers further exacerbate the OOP burden among the poor. This study aims to analyze the influence of transportation costs, distance to healthcare facilities, and the intensity of JKN-PBI utilization on the out-of-pocket burden of poor households in Lebak Regency. The study population consists of JKN-PBI participants in Guradog Village, Curugbitung District, with a total sample of 160 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the SPSS software. The results show that, simultaneously, transportation costs, distance, and JKN-PBI utilization intensity have a significant effect on OOP. Partially, transportation costs and distance have a positive and significant effect, while JKN-PBI utilization intensity has a negative and significant effect. This study emphasizes the importance of equitable access to healthcare facilities, transportation subsidies for JKN-PBI participants in remote areas, and the enhancement of JKN utilization.

Abstract

Sustainable tourism has become a key direction of global tourism development, emphasizing the balance between economic, social, and environmental aspects. One of the emerging innovative approaches is the healing forest concept, which utilizes forest environments as natural spaces for physical and mental restoration. This study aims to analyze the perspectives of multiple stakeholders regarding the development of the Taman Kehati Hutan Pelawan in Namang Village, Central Bangka Regency, by implementing the healing forest concept as an innovation for sustainable tourism. The research employed a mixed-method approach (qualitative and quantitative), collecting data through interviews, observations, and questionnaires involving 45 respondents from government institutions, tourism managers, local communities, visitors, academics, and media representatives. Data were analyzed descriptively using Likert scales and qualitative data reduction. The results reveal that both the community and visitors have a positive perception of the area’s development, with the highest scores found in indicators of tourist interest in the healing forest concept (4.48) and support for its development (4.08). Stakeholder perspectives highlight the need for improving human resource capacity, enhancing tourism facilities, and strengthening cross-sector collaboration to achieve sustainable tourism governance.

A limited trial was conducted on 10th grade students involving validation by construct and content experts, as well as assessments from teachers and students. The research instrument in the form of a feasibility questionnaire and responses were analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The results showed that PlanVest Quest achieved a very high feasibility level with an expert validation score of 98% and very positive user responses. This media has proven effective in increasing learning motivation, understanding of investment concepts, and students' financial decision-making abilities. Therefore, this media can be used as an innovative alternative in Economics learning at the high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Per Capita Income, Poverty Rate, and Unemployment Rate on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Aceh Tamiang Regency. This study utilizes secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency of Aceh Tamiang Regency for the period 2010–2023 and is analyzed using multiple linear regression with Eviews 10 software. The results indicate that the Per Capita Income variable has a negative and significant effect on the HDI. The poverty rate variable has a negative and significant effect, while the unemployment rate variable has a negative but insignificant effect on the HDI in Aceh Tamiang Regency. Therefore, it can be concluded that increasing per capita income and reducing poverty and unemployment rates can drive improvements in the Human Development Index. Therefore, the local government is expected to focus more on policies related to increasing income and reducing poverty and unemployment to accelerate human development in this region.
