Abstract

The development of digital technology and the popularity of the internet have made e-learning an increasingly popular learning method to support the dissemination of knowledge in interactive e-learning systems. However, currently, multimedia content-based e-learning systems are still under-explored, and most e-learning system models are not yet adaptive. On the other hand, each student has a different learning style when interacting with the content presented to them. The challenges faced if adaptive e-learning is not implemented properly can lead to poor learning outcomes. In this study, a systematic literature review was conducted with the PRISMA framework to study adaptive e-learning. From this study, 6 potential literatures were obtained from 193 literatures in the initial search regarding the implementation of adaptive e-learning systems that can answer global challenges in the future. The main finding of this study is that adaptive e-learning is able to overcome educational gaps in the future because students are increasingly dependent on digital learning systems worldwide. Ease of internet access plays a major role in the emergence of a lifelong learning system that can support students' learning styles. The results of this study can be the basis for further research in detecting students' learning styles as a basis for developing learning materials to support distance learning.

Abstract

The Malaysian government, through its various ministries and agencies, strive to empower communities via various policies and funding programs. One significant initiative during the post-COVID-19 recovery period is the Malaysian Incentive Community Empowerment program. This program provided funds to over 2,000 non-governmental organisations to conduct community programs focused on four aspects: security, well-being, leadership, and cooperation with public agencies. While the number of communities benefiting from the funding program was encouraging, interviews with the agency responsible for administering the funding and assessment of program reports revealed a lack of adequate and systematic evaluation for program outputs and the returns on the investment made by the government. Evaluating social impacts particularly those resulting from the use of public funding is crucial to ensure accountability, transparency, resource optimisation, social equity as well as for informed decision-making for future initiatives and policies. Therefore, this paper proposes the application of the Social Return on Investment approach by funding organisations and government agencies to measure and validate the impacts of publicly funded community programs. Additionally, this paper explores the reality of integrating this elaborate impact evaluation methodology in the broader administrative framework of the funding program, with particular attention on the opportunities and challenges presented by its implementation by local agencies.

Abstract

One of the main issues that presents difficulty in online learning settings is academic dishonesty. In these environments, traditional proctoring techniques are not always successful; hence, a new hybrid system is under development to address the problem. This creative system detects cheaters in the act by combining digital signal processing and image processing. Multiple cameras in the image processing component of the system monitor students during tests and flag any suspicious activity, including too forceful hand gestures or head movements. Simultaneously, the digital signal processing element finds any illegal devices and blocks internet access to stop digital cheating. Under tests, the system produced some rather outstanding results. It was 100% successful in blocking internet access and able to correctly identify illegal devices 96% of the time and aberrant physical movements 80% of the time. Over current approaches that only use one of these techniques, the twin approach of tracking behaviour and identifying devices represents a significant improvement. The system still has certain constraints and is not flawless, though. The accuracy rate falls to 65% in noisy or complicated surroundings, which emphasises the need for more improvement. Schools and colleges wishing to put sensible plans into action to stop cheating and uphold academic integrity will find great use for this study.

Abstract

English language proficiency tests have become an integral part of English language learning. Several standardized English proficiency tests are offered to test takers for various purposes. TOEFL, IELTS and TOEIC are those that are widely recognized internationally. Standardized English tests have also been developed by institutions in Indonesia, such as TAEP by the University of Muhammadiyah Malang and TOEP (PKBI) by the Indonesian Test Service Center (PLTI). However, to date, there are still no similar tests administered by institutions in Indonesia specifically designed for vocational contexts. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the needs of developing a blueprint for the English proficiency test of Jember State Polytechnic (Polije) with a vocational nuance referring to the Common European Framework of Reference. Data were obtained through interviews with the Head of the Language Center of Polije, analysis of existing documents of the test blueprint and samples, analysis of the development of departments at Polije for the consideration of the vocational aspects, and analysis of the CEFR which will serve as the reference of the blueprint. The results of the data analysis will serve as the basis for developing a blueprint for the Polije English proficiency test with a vocational nuance referring to the CEFR.

Abstract

This study analyses the market potential and financial feasibility of milkfish floss enriched with ulin banana corm, addressing a gap in literature concerning the economic viability of such sustainable food innovations. While prior research confirms the technical suitability of banana corms in food products, their commercial potential remains underexplored. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, this research gathered qualitative data through in-depth interviews with experts, and quantitative data via a consumer questionnaire (n=70). The findings reveal significant financial promise, with a calculated profit margin of 43.3%, a positive Net Present Value (NPV) of Rp 51 million, an 80.18% Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and a two-year Payback Period (PBP). Consumer analysis indicates strong appreciation for the product's health benefits, natural ingredients, and unique taste, with a high overall acceptability score (3.9/5). However, the primary challenge identified is consumer hesitation due to differences in taste and texture compared to traditional milkfish floss. The discussion concludes that despite this barrier, the product holds strong potential for success, particularly among health-conscious and environmentally aware consumers. To achieve wider market acceptance, the study recommends investing in more efficient processing technology and implementing targeted marketing strategies that emphasize the product's nutritional advantages and sustainability credentials

Abstract

Sidoarjo Regency is one of the centers of fishery production in East Java with superior products of milkfish and shrimp. Milkfish and shrimp head waste that has not been widely utilized in Sidoarjo Regency. On the other hand, the trend of healthy food consumption, especially gluten- free products, continues to increase both locally and globally. Efforts to overcome this problem can be done by developing a superior product in the form of gluten-free dimsum. Dimsum is a processed product that is widely favored by the public due to its practicality in serving. This study aimed to design a strategy for developing gluten-free dimsum from milkfish and shrimp heads using Canvas Business Model and SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) . The first stage was the development of the business model canvas to illustrate the business potential of dimsum made from milkfish and shrimp head waste. The second stage was the analysis of the internal and external environment as the basis for the SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threaten) analysis. The results of the study indicated that gluten- free dim sum from milkfish and shrimp head waste has great potential for development. The analysis identified key strengths such as product innovation utilizing local resources, and key opportunities including the growing trend for healthy food. Conversely, high production costs were a primary weakness, with price competition from conventional products being a major threat. The Internal-External matrix analysis places this business venture in the 'Grow and Build' quadrant. Therefore, the recommended core strategy is an intensive approach focusing on market penetration through strong branding as a healthy, eco-friendly product and continuous product development.

Abstract

Agroedutourism has emerged as a sustainable tourism model that integrates recreational activities with agricultural education, offering both experiential learning and economic value. This study analyzes the determinants of agroedutourism development at the orange picking site of the Teaching Factory (TeFa) Kebun Inovasi Politeknik Negeri Jember (Polije). The objectives are to identify the potential attractions of orange-based agroedutourism and to evaluate the influence of attraction, accessibility, amenities, and visitor perceptions on destination development. Data were obtained through field observations, interviews with management and academic experts, and surveys of 125 visitors. A descriptive approach was used to assess the site’s potential, while multiple linear regression was applied to examine the effect of the four determinant variables. The results indicate that TeFa Kebun Inovasi has strong agroedutourism potential, supported by commodity diversity, educational value, scenic landscapes, and opportunities for local product development. Regression analysis shows that attraction, accessibility, amenities, and perception collectively have a significant effect on agroedutourism development (F = 213.927; p < 0.05). However, only visitor perception exhibits a significant individual influence (β = 0.873; p < 0.001), suggesting that visitor experience acts as the primary driver of development. Physical factors such as attraction, accessibility, and amenities contribute positively but do not show significant independent effects. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing experiential quality, educational engagement, and service interaction to strengthen visitor perception. Improving facilities, infrastructure, and thematic attractions remains essential to support a comprehensive and competitive agroedutourism model within a vocational education environment.

Abstract

The coffee plantation sector holds a strategic role in Indonesia’s economy, contributing to income, raw materials, and foreign exchange. In 2022, Indonesia had 1.29 million hectares of coffee plantations producing 794.8 thousand tons. East Java, particularly Kayumas Village in Situbondo with 1,500 hectares of land—partly certified organic—is a key production center. Growing environmental awareness has encouraged organic coffee cultivation, yet adoption of sustainable practices remains uneven as many farmers still apply inorganic systems. This study aims to identify the key factors influencing the adoption of sustainable agribusiness practices among organic and non-organic coffee farmers. Descriptive and analytical methods were used to systematically describe and analyze the relationship between variables using Binary Logistic Regression. The research location was purposively determined in Kayumas Village, Arjasa District. Respondents were purposively selected from two groups of organic and inorganic coffee farmers, using a quota sampling technique. The results show that, overall, the factors of land area, experience, business scale, partnerships, market access, and credit access influence coffee farmers' decisions to adopt sustainable agribusiness practices based on organic systems. However, in part, the variables of land area, experience, and medium and large business scale proved to have a significant effect. These findings confirm that farmers' resource and business capacity factors are the main determinants in the implementation of organic coffee farming systems.
