The aim of the research is to determine the process of implementing Al-Qur'an learning and improving Al-Qur’an reading skills using a combination of talaqqi and ummi methods for students. The research was conducted by applying a descriptive qualitative method and subjects were taken using a purposive sampling technique. Data was taken using observation, interview and documentation techniques and then tested for validity using data triangulation. Next, data analysis techniques is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results are 1) The implementation of a combination of talaqqi and ummi methods in improving Al-Qur’an reading skills has succeeded in creating students who meet the indicators to be said to be capable of reading the Al-Qur'an; 2) Its effectiveness can be seen from increasing skills in reading the Al-Qur'an, such as fluency, accuracy of recitation, and makhorijul letters. Challenges arise such as teacher limitations and differences in students' ability to remember letter shapes so that they do not meet the indicators. Training for tutors and assistance from parents when studying at home will maximize students’ skills in reading the Al-Qur’an.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the impact of the implementation of the Independent Curriculum on the moral development of elementary school children. The Independent Curriculum, with its focus on flexibility, relevance, and student-centered learning, is expected to have a positive impact on the formation of character and moral values. This study uses a literature study method to examine the concept of the Independent Curriculum, the theory of elementary school children's moral development, and their potential relationships. The results of the discussion show that flexibility in the Independent Curriculum allows teachers to integrate moral values contextually and relevantly to students' needs. Project-based learning and collaboration also have the potential to foster empathy, responsibility, and social awareness. However, effective implementation requires a deep understanding of the stages of children's moral development and appropriate teaching strategies. In conclusion, the Independent Curriculum has significant potential in supporting the moral development of elementary school children, but its success is highly dependent on planned and adaptive implementation.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the effect of the Cool, Critical, Creative, and Meaningful (3CM) learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills on the topic of matrices. A quantitative approach was used, employing a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest format. The study involved 30 11th-grade science students from SMA Muhammadiyah Mlati. The instruments for this research included a critical thinking skills test based on the indicators of Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, and Overview, as well as a student perception questionnaire regarding the 3CM learning model. The validity and reliability tests showed that all instruments were valid and reliable. Tests for normality and linearity confirmed that the data were normally distributed and exhibited a significant linear relationship. Regression analysis demonstrated a positive and significant correlation between the 3CM model and students’ critical thinking skills (sig. = 0.003 < 0.05), with the model explaining 27.7% of the variance. The average pretest score of 61.56 increased to 85.80 in the posttest, with the greatest improvement observed in the Situation indicator. These findings indicate that the 3CM model is effective in enhancing students' critical thinking skills and contributes to the development of innovative teaching strategies in mathematics education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the Flipped Classroom strategy in learning Natural Sciences (IPA) in elementary schools, especially in shaping the character and global insight of students. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a library research method, which analyzes various literature sources such as relevant and up-to-date scientific journals.  The results show that Flipped Classroom encourages independent learning outside the classroom and collaborative activities in the classroom, which significantly improves students' conceptual understanding as well as basic scientific skills. In addition, this strategy also strengthens character traits such as independence, responsibility and tolerance, while expanding students' global horizons through access to international learning resources. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of education system support, teacher training, and the role of parents to ensure the successful implementation of this strategy in creating a learning process that is holistic, contextual, and relevant to the demands of 21st century education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the reinforcement of discipline character through religious extracurricular activities at MI Unggulan Jabalul Khoir. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method by directly observing the implementation of religious extracurricular programs and their role in shaping students’ discipline. Data were collected through interviews with the school principal, extracurricular mentors, and 13 student participants. The analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which involves four stages: extensive data collection, data reduction based on the research focus, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validation was carried out using theoretical and source triangulation. The study found three main religious extracurricular activities: Hadrah (disciplining through art), Karate (disciplining through physical training), and Tadzkir (a more in-depth spiritual character-building program led by a religious teacher with deeper expertise). Tadzkir was integrated across all extracurricular activities and focused on leadership training, daily reflection, talent expression, and planning for the future. The program proved effective, as demonstrated by three students winning in Fahmil Qur'an and Hadrah competitions

Abstract

Efforts to improve teacher competence in writing scientific papers need to be continuously honed and improved because teachers' inability to write scientific papers has an impact on various things including career advancement. This community service aims to improve the motivation and writing skills of scientific papers of teachers in Sleman Regency through the Sleman Islamic Religious Teacher Writing Forum (Forlis Gaiman). This community service activity was organized by the Islamic Studies Department, Faculty of Islamic Religious Sciences, Islamic University of Indonesia targeting 24 State Islamic Religious Education teachers in Sleman Regency. The activity was packaged as a 2-day training on November 5-6, 2022, at the FIAI Postgraduate Campus. In addition to presenting the material, participants were also assigned to compile scientific journal articles. Based on the results of this community service, it can be seen that the various answers of training participants when asked about their motivation to take part in the training were mostly so that they could compile proposals and understand classroom action research. Other motivations for each individual are different depending on their own interests. The understanding of the material increased after being given the training treatment. Training participants also wrote scientific papers in the form of journal articles and carried out guidance, although less intensively. Overall, this activity is considered very important. The training participants felt happy, challenged to immediately prepare a proposal, and were satisfied based on the impressions of the training participants.
