Abstract

Food and Beverage service is a section in the Hotel that is incorporated in Food and Beverage department. To do the responsibility in Food and Beverage Service Section as a Waiter, language is really important in speech acts that will be spoken by waiter. The writer do the research because, the writer want to describe the utterances expressed by the waiter in the Food and Beverage service section in Lampion Hotel Surakarta. The writer is also want to explain the speech acts for reflecting politeness strategy by the waiter in the Food and Beverage section in Lampion Hotel Surakarta. The writer is used qualitative descriptive method in searching the data. The method of finding the data are observing, interviewing, recording, and doing documentation directly on the field. The research shows that Lampion Hotel has utterances expressed and politeness reflection that are conveyed by the waiter there are greeting, offering, asking, repeating, clarifying, inviting and closing that reflected politeness. The writer summarizes that the politeness strategy in the food and beverage service section in the Hotel is very important for those who are working in the hospitality world because it is the main point of the person attitude that will serve the guest with their good personality.

Abstract

Indonesia is a tourist destination in the world that amaze the beautiful Nation. Indonesia has nature and historical tourist attraction. Many historical tourist attraction are found in central java especially in Solo. Solo has Surakarta palace, Pura Mangkunegaran, Radya pustaka museum, Monumen pers, Sangiran museum, etc. The writer interests to do research about "the politeness of tour guides to explain tourist destination to tourists in Pura Mangkunegaran Surakarta (focused on speech act). The method is used are quantitative and qualitative. In this research needs to use the qualitative method because the data source of the research are units language, the level of words, phrases, clauses, and sentences. The relevant context and cultural value. The data source of the research is descriptive text. Descriptive research explains the reality of the data that appear, analyzed in narrative form. Tour guide has to understand material and be capable explaining to tourists clearly. Usually there is job training to tour guide first. After trainer gives permission, then tour guide ready to do their job. Tour guide makes a note for daily activity as tour guide in Pura Mangkunegaran Surakarta. Then tour guide can take a rest and prepare to do their job again after that. There are activities of tour guide in Pura Mangkunegaran Surakarta that can be seen by the writer.

Abstract

The natural beauty with all its potential beauty has to be kept, preserved, and developed by Karanganyar official tourism management. Cultural diversity, people hospitality and historical values of Karanganyar become tourist main attraction and wonders. This research aims at finding the activities of the Karanganyar Tourism, Youth and Sports Service which are regularly managed by the Karanganyar Tourism, Youth and Sports Service. The research use method triangulation such as document analysis, interview and observation. Data from document analysis as from some books, Observation had been done when giving some questions to the officer in the office and the writer’s experiences internship for 3 month. The benefits of the study for students is that they can obtain knowledge from result through which is presented and through a new experience. For Government, it can support Department of tourism and culture, Youth and Sport Services Karanganyar with good regulation. The government has gived regulation likes give infrastructure tourism object in Karanganyar not only Department of tourism and culture, Youth and Sport Services Karanganyar but just to society.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is : To know the mistake of politeness and gesture of front office staff of Megaland Hotel Solo when serving foreign guest. And to find out the problems affecting the faults by front office staff related to the use of English with foreign guests through an interview on WhatsApp Messenger. The Writing of this report is presented descriptively to obtain an overview of various information relating to the provision of services to hotel guests. methods of collecting and using documentation, direct observation, interviews and literature study are data from apprentices described in sentence form. The data obtained are then analyzed and presented descriptively. The results show that the front office department of Megaland Hotel Solo has a significant role in providing services to guests, as the front office department has direct contact and will give first and last impression to the upcoming guest. Internship results can be seen that the quality of front office staff services consisting of the speed of service, the accuracy of the service and the hospitality service has been well done by the hotel front desk staff, but it is better for the front office staff to master the correct English, polite and good gesture. especially for foreign guests interested in returning to stay at Megaland Hotel Solo.

Abstract

There are three problems statements in this research (1) what is the use of language in advertising (2) what are the functions of slogan on advertising and (3) what is the purpose of the advertiser use unique slogan on advertising. This research is a qualitative research. The function of this research is to describe language that is used in the slogan by using words and explanation. The data used on this research, which will use pragmatics analysis and implicate are taken from slogans advertisement in billboard. The data is taken from October – December 2015. Before analyzing, the researcher takes the picture data and out of collecting. After collecting data, next step is data analysis with pragmatics and to consider context on this analysis, another that the writer also searches the language functions on the slogan. Based on the analysis, the writer summarizes that the use language advertisement is unique language that advertisement be unique and interesting, usually the producer uses the brief language, no completed language but has the meaning, sometime they use foreign language. There are some slogan function that are (a) information, (b) persuasive, (c) educate, (d) entertain and more important the use by producer is the persuasive function because almost all the advertisement which made by advertiser always persuade to society to be consumer a product, although the slogan advertisement do not uses the word which persuade. The purpose of the advertisers use language in advertisement as which are found on billboard is to get people’s attention so that they will buy this product soon.

Abstract

In this research the writer sees many kind of culture that can be potential tourism from the many unique points especially the culture tourism. It is meant it invites readers to be more interested in preserving the traditional culture.This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The research involves the data that consist of the primary and secondary sources. Qualitative modes of data analysis provide ways of discerning, examining, comparing and contrasting, and interpreting meaningful patterns or themes. Grebeg Mulud or Sekaten is a series of events in Javanese tradition that has special significance for the javanese people. Grebeg Mulud or Sekaten event has also become one of the history of the spread of Islam by Walisongo, which was first implemented in the Kingdom of Demak and then inherited by the Surakarta Palace. This event has great value, which then appealed to the tourists for just a look or even learn about the traditions and ultimately make them as one of the leading tourism circuit and attractions in Surakarta. Even in this modern and sophisticated area, the traditional events are still being kept by its people. It is proven that traditions still has the main role in people’s life and behavior.

Abstract

Through the feminist stylistic on Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (2017) Live-Action remake, the paper argues that Walt Disney is not as inclusive and progressive as rumoured, but sexist. The study aims to uncover the characteristics of sexism in the context of linguistic derived from a gender-specific term. This study is qualitative research. The objects and data of this analysis are determined by purposive sampling. The object of this study is the text that appeared in the film Beauty and the Beast (2017) on a live-action remake. The data for this study are lexical items (single word, chain of words, and part of a word) that relate to gender-specific. The data analysed using the linguistic determinism theory of Sara Mill's feminist stylistic framework. This study reveals the presence of sexism at the word level. The findings are Walt Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (2017) Live-action remake shows the use of generic-noun and generic-pronouns appear in a sexist way, diminutive naming of gay and female characters, and negative terms used to portray female characters.

Abstract

Untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan proyek bangunan skala apapun, target waktu yang relative cepat maka diperlukan kerja sama pada subcont penyedia pelengkap proyek bangunan. Bagian sanitasi merupakan kelengkapan interior bangunan, salah satu komponen bagian sanitasi adalah towel bar. Wall bracket yang menjadi bagian towel bar selama ini metode pembuatannya menggunakan mesin bubut manual 1 pcs wall bracket membutuhkan waktu 2 jam. Agar ketersediaan produk towel bar terutama wall bracket dapat tepat waktu, bentuk produk konsisten maka diperlukan inovasi dalam metode pembuatannya yaitu salah satunya menggunakan metode combination dies untuk meningkatkan produksi dan memenuhi permintaan 200 pcs/bulan. Agar mendapatkan produk wall bracket dengan dimensi diameter luar 33.1 mm, tinggi, diameter dalam 3.5 mm, tinggi 8 mm, sudut 82odengan ketebalan 2 mm dengan metode pengerjaan combination dies pada mesin Nagao 110 Ton ditentukan oleh ukuran punch atau drawing die yang tepat, sistem knock out, perhitungan stroke yang tepat sehingga produk tidak menempel pada dies. Pembuatan produk wall bracket pada towel bar dengan metode dies combination dapat mempersingkat waktu proses permesinan dan setiap produk yang dihasilkan dapat lebih dari satu produk disesuaikan dengan kapasitas mesin stamping.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengoptimalkan aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar biologi pada materi pola-pola hereditas pada mahluk hidup melalui penerapan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) bagi peserta didik kelas XII IPA 5 SMA Negeri 1 Bandar Sribhawono Lampung Timur pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2018/2019. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari – Maret 2019, metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Tiap siklus sebanyak dua kali pertemuan dan pada pertemuan ketiga dilakukan tes formatif. Adapun variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah aktivitas belajar peserta didik dan hasil belajar. Untuk variabel aktivitas belajar, peneliti melakukan observasi terhadap 5 aspek aktivitas belajar yang dijabarkan dalam 10 indikator. Sedangkan, untuk variabel hasil belajar peserta didik, peneliti menggunakan nilai formatif materi sebelumnya sebagai nilai prasiklus/ pembanding. Indikator keberhasilan dilihat dari 1) peningkatan aktivitas belajar untuk variabel aktivitas belajar dan 2) peningkatan pemahaman konsep yang diperoleh dari hasil formatif untuk materi pola-pola hereditas. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar observasi dan lembaran tes. Berdasarkan tindakan yang telah diterapkan pada siklus I dan siklus II ternyata dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan hasil belajar biologi pada materi pola-pola hereditas.

Abstract

Sistem pembelajaran di Politeknik mayoritas menggunakan sistem Blended Learning (campuran) tatap muka, praktek kerja dan online dengan komposisi pembelajaran ; 40% teori dan 60% praktik dengan mekanisme keterkaitan dan kecocokan (Link and match) Industry. Untuk mencapai keterkaitan dan kecocokan (Link and match) Industri diperlukan kebijakan komprehensif antar kementerian untuk menetapkan jabatan fungsional Pengembang Teknologi Pembelajaran (PTP) sebagai pelaksana terintegrasi program pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi khususnya Politeknik baik aneka sumber belajar, metode, bahan ajar, media atau lingkungan belajar sehingga outcome pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan produksi barang maupun jasa secara cepat, efektif dan efesian melalui pembelajaran yang bermakna, menyenangkan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah ”deskriptif kuantitatif” karena bersifat menjabarkan, menguraikan, dan menafsirkan kondisi, peristiwa, proses yang sedang terjadi dalam konteks permasalahan Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengeksplorasi dan klarifikasi mengenai suatu fenomena atau kenyataan sosial dengan jelas. Mendeskripsikan variabel yang berkenan dengan masalah dan unit yang diteliti. Metode pembelajaran sistem daring dan konvensional atau blended learning memungkinkan outcome SDM mempunyai kemampuan mengatasi disrupsi teknologi, pada sisi lain harapan Presiden dan Menristekdikti bahwa kemampuan menghadapi revolusi industri 4.0 dalam persaingan era disrupsi teknologi dan globalisasi tidak hanya melalui kemampuan khusus yang diperoleh karena menyelesaikan pendidikan magister S2, magister S3 pendidikan tinggi yang katanya menghasilkan kemampuan responsive keterlibatan industri 4.0 tetapi melalui perbaikan budaya pembelajaran. Indikator 0.033% SDM yang berkarier sebagai Pengembang Teknologi Pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi menunjukkan rendahkan perhatian perguruan tinggi dalam pengembangan program pembelajaran baik pengelolaan aneka sumber belajar, metode, media, bahan ajar dan lingkungan belajar sesuai kebutuhaan pembelajaran yang bermakna dan menyenangkan, hal ini disebabkan oleh ego profesi, ego sektoral
