Abstract

The strengthening phenomena of intolerance, social polarization, and information disruption in the digital era indicate serious challenges to national integration in Indonesia. This condition reflects that the internalization of Pancasila values in society, particularly among the younger generation, has not been optimal. This study aims to systematically examine the role of internalizing Pancasila values in realizing national integration through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The research was conducted by analyzing 15 relevant scholarly articles obtained from various reputable databases through a structured selection process based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings reveal that the internalization of Pancasila values contributes to fostering tolerance, strengthening social cohesion, and enhancing national awareness within a multicultural society. The process is effectively implemented through civic education, multicultural education practices, as well as strengthening the role of social environments and digital media as spaces for value internalization. In addition, contextual and adaptive approaches to contemporary developments are important factors in the successful implementation of Pancasila values. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of strengthening educational strategies and public policies capable of internalizing Pancasila values in a sustainable, innovative, and socially relevant manner to support inclusive and sustainable national integration.

Abstract

This study aims to explore, compare, and analyze the implementation of learning supervision in four elementary schools in Malang City/Regency representing different school typologies: public school, public madrasah, university laboratory school, and private Islamic school. A qualitative approach with a multiple case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and school supervisors (12 informants), four-session field observations, and document analysis. Findings reveal that all four schools have implemented supervision with different models and approaches: (1) SDN Mulyoagung 1 applied non-directive TIRTA-coaching within the HARAPAN program; (2) MIN 2 Kota Malang developed an eight-group collegial supervision system supported by the SIMIDUN application; (3) SD Laboratorium UM employed a 7-Form Format with a collaborative per-grade approach within a dual curriculum framework (Cambridge and Merdeka Curriculum); and (4) SD Muhammadiyah 8 Dau integrated classroom video reflection and a learning community in the MAPAN program. Supervision outcomes demonstrated average PAS score improvements ranging from 1.6 to 9.3 points. Learning mastery increased from 72% to 81% in SD-A. The dimensions most differentiating across schools were feedback quality and consistency of follow-up plan monitoring. This study produces a comparative analytical framework for elementary school learning supervision considering school typology context, and recommends evidence-based coaching approaches and the integration of professional learning communities as strategies for sustainable quality improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges of supervisory management in overseeing differentiated learning within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. The study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) approach, referring to the PRISMA guidelines to ensure a systematic, transparent, and replicable literature selection process. Data were analyzed from 20 scientific articles selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria across various academic databases. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum promotes a transformation in the learning paradigm toward a student-centered approach, with differentiated learning as the core of pedagogical practice. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, particularly gaps in teachers’ competencies, limited infrastructure, and suboptimal understanding of the concept of differentiated instruction. In this context, academic supervision plays a strategic role as a mechanism for strengthening teachers’ capacity. Nevertheless, current practices tend to be administrative in nature and are not yet oriented toward instructional improvement. This study highlights the importance of reorienting academic supervision toward a more adaptive, collaborative, and coaching-based approach to effectively support the implementation of differentiated learning. These findings contribute to the development of a supervision model that is more aligned with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study addresses the gap between formal regulatory compliance and substantive accountability in campaign finance audits in regional elections. Despite regulations emphasizing transparency, campaign finance audits often fail to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, raising concerns about their effectiveness in supporting democratic governance. This study aims to explore how auditors interpret and construct accountability in campaign finance audits. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed to capture auditors lived experiences. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with auditors from public accounting firms involved in the 2024 regional elections in Indonesia and analyzed using phenomenological procedures, including thematic clustering and meaning interpretation. The findings reveal that campaign finance audits are better understood as legitimacy seeking mechanisms than as tools of substantive accountability. Five themes emerged, indicating that audits function mainly as legitimacy-seeking mechanisms rather than instruments of transparency. This study contributes by introducing “symbolic accountability” and highlighting the need to strengthen enforcement and expand audit scope.

Abstract

Vocabulary knowledge plays a vital role in vocational education, particularly for mechanical engineering students who are required to understand both general English and specialized technical terminology. However, many vocational learners continue to experience difficulties in mastering machinery-related vocabulary due to limited exposure, instructional constraints, and the gap between everyday English and technical language. This study aims to examine the level of students’ mastery of machinery vocabulary at SMK TKM Purworejo, identify the challenges they encounter, and explore the learning strategies they employ to acquire technical terms effectively. This research adopted a descriptive qualitative design using purposive sampling. The participants were mechanical engineering students who had received instruction on machinery-related vocabulary in their English classes. Data were collected through classroom observations, pre-tests, and document analysis. The data were then analyzed using thematic analysis to identify emerging themes and patterns related to vocabulary acquisition. The findings indicate that most students have achieved an adequate level of mastery of basic machinery vocabulary, particularly concrete terms related to tools and equipment. Approximately 95% of the students obtained satisfactory scores on the pre-test, indicating that the quantitative pre-test results supported the qualitative findings regarding their basic vocabulary mastery. Students applied various learning strategies, including contextual learning, comparing English terms with their first language equivalents, peer discussion, structured note-taking, repetition, and the use of digital platforms. Despite these positive outcomes, challenges remain, such as limited English exposure outside the classroom, pronunciation difficulties, confusion between general and technical vocabulary, and limited ESP-based instructional materials. Therefore, contextualized ESP instruction and innovative teaching strategies are essential to support continuous vocabulary development and professional readiness.

Abstract

This research examines the pivotal role of student discussion forums (syawir/bahtsul masail) in sharpening reasoning and analytical skills toward classical Islamic texts (Kitab Kuning) at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Ilmi Wal Fikri, Jombang. In an era dominated by instant digital information, the tradition of slow reading and deep textual analysis in pesantrens faces significant challenges. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that discussion forums serve as a cognitive laboratory where students transform from passive recipients of knowledge into active analytical thinkers. Through the dialectic of logical reasoning (mantiq) and legal hermeneutics (ushul fikh), students develop the ability to deconstruct complex syntactic structures and reconstruct contextual meanings. Despite obstacles such as limited contemporary references and time constraints, these forums effectively cultivate an intellectual culture based on Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah principles, particularly tawasuth (moderation) and tawazun (balance). This research suggests that strengthening such deliberative methods is essential for maintaining the relevance of pesantren education in the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of contemporary children's literature-based teaching materials on strengthening literacy and character education in students. This study is motivated by the importance of literacy culture, especially for students. Literacy culture is closely related to character education in students. This study was conducted at SD Negeri Birem Puntong, located in Buket Meudang Ara Village, Langsa Timur Subdistrict, Langsa City, Aceh Province, at the end of the second semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects in this study consisted of two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The instruments used in this study included literature-based teaching materials, literacy tests, character education questionnaires, observations, and interviews. The results of the study showed a significant increase in the average literacy and character education scores in the experimental group. This was demonstrated by the pre-test and post-test results, which showed a higher average score in the experimental group. From the results of this study, it can be seen that the hypothesis was proven through a paired sample t-test with a significance level of α=0.05, yielding a sig value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. This means that there is a significant effect of the use of contemporary children's literature-based teaching materials on strengthening literacy and character education.

Abstract

Effective communication is fundamental to ensuring safety and operational efficiency in maritime environments. However, maritime cadets frequently encounter difficulties in mastering the technical Maritime English vocabulary required for engine room operations. This study aimed to develop a Notion-based visual marine engineering dictionary integrating images of engine room components, audio pronunciations, and contextual phrases aligned with Standard Marine Communication Phrases (SMCP) to support Maritime English learning. The research adopted a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE instructional design model, consisting of the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The developed product was implemented with 38 marine engineering cadets at Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia. Feasibility evaluation results showed mean scores ranging from 4.00 to 4.50, which were categorized as Good to Very Good. In addition, 85.0% of participants reported that the visual dictionary helped improve their understanding of marine engineering terminology. These findings indicate that the Notion-based visual dictionary is a feasible learning medium with positive potential to support cadets’ acquisition of technical Maritime English vocabulary in maritime vocational education. Nevertheless, the study was limited to a relatively small sample from a single maritime institution, indicating the need for broader implementation and further evaluation studies.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to systematically analyze the role of school partnerships in strengthening the employability skills of Vocational High School (SMK) students. This issue is important because SMK graduates still experience a relatively high open unemployment rate, indicating a gap between graduates’ competencies and labor market demands. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method based on the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Data sources were obtained from the Scopus database covering publications from 2021 to 2026. Through the processes of identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion, 32 articles met the criteria for analysis. Data were analyzed using a thematic approach. The findings reveal that forms of school–industry partnerships include internships, industrial work practices, dual education systems, work-based learning, curriculum alignment, teaching factory, competency certification, and graduate recruitment. These partnerships positively contribute to the development of students’ technical and non-technical skills, particularly communication, teamwork, discipline, adaptability, problem-solving, and work readiness. Supporting factors for successful partnerships include mutual commitment, proactive school leadership, curriculum relevance, intensive communication, and policy support. Meanwhile, major challenges include limited industrial partners, facility gaps, and teachers’ competencies that have not fully kept pace with industrial development. This study concludes that school–industry partnerships are an important strategy for improving the quality of SMK graduates and strengthening workforce competitiveness. Therefore, the development of adaptive and sustainable partnership models should become a priority in vocational education policy in Indonesia.
