Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationshop of mastery of vocabulary and mastery of sentences with the ability to write descriptions. The research is limited to the problem of the ability to write descriptions as a dependent variable, while mastery of vocabulary and mastery of sentences as independent variables. The limitation of this problem is limited to the assumption that these two factors have a relationship with the ability to write descriptions. The method used in this study is a survey method with correlational regression techniques. Population and sample in this study were students of class XII MA Attoyyibiyah Serang Banten in the academic year 2013-2014. Affordable population is 160 students, wich is also a sample framework. To determine the sample spread there is no absolute provision. However, in determining the sample it is necessary to consaider the homogeneity or heterogeneity of the population and the population size so that the sample is set at 35 students. The results of this study can be concluded: (1) there is a positive relationship with vocabulary mastery with the ability to writing descriptions. (2) there is positive relationship to mastery of sentences with the ability to write descriptions and (3) there is a positive relationship of mastery of vocabulary and mastery of sentences with the ability to write descriptions.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the effect of the Course Review Horay type of cooperative learning model on the ability to identify my father's drama character back home by Usmar Ismail. This study uses an experimental method with a population of all eighth grade students of State Middle School 1 Bojong 2018/2019 academic year. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling or random sampling. So that the random sampling technique obtained samples, namely class VIII D and class VIII E. Each of them amounted to 33 students, so that the overall sample amounted to 66 students. Class VIII D as the experimental class was given treatment in the form of using the Course Review Horay cooperative learning model, while class VIII E as the control class used the Teams Games Tournament learning model.Based on the results of data processing, it was obtained an illustration that the ability to identify my father's drama drama returned home by usmar ismail students using the Cooperative Course Review Horay type model well. This can be seen from 33 students who were obtained as many as 21 students or 63.63% obtaining scores more than 54. While 12 students or 36.36% scored between 38-53, the average score was 58.21; the highest score is 85 and the lowest value is 38. While the ability to identify drama officers with the cooperative learning model of the Teams Games Tournament type is not good. Drawing from 33 students studied, 21 students or 63.63% obtained grades less than 50. While 12 students or 36.36% scored between 51-70 with an average score of 47.63, the lowest score was 30, the highest score was 70. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a positive influence on the use of the Cooperative Course Review Horay type model on the ability to identify drama characters of my Ayah Pulang by Usmar Ismail, a grade VIII student at SMP 1 Bojong in the academic year 2018/2019.

Abstract

This study discusses the analysis of news framing on Kompas.com online media in reporting cases of alleged hate speech carried out by Habib Bahar bin Smith to President Joko Widodo. The analysis was conducted based on the framing approach of Zong Dan Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach that is oriented to content analysis. The results of the study can be concluded that Kompas.com prepares the news of alleged Habib Bahar bin Smith's hate speech to President Joko Widodo using the reverse pyramid technique. In addition, the facts submitted use a reference source from the quotation of the informant's statement. The news presented still carries the concept of 5W + 1H with the main emphasis on the elements of why and what (why and what). Likewise the lead is delivered with the main facts and continued supporting facts in the next paragraph.

Abstract

This study aims to describe 1) the structure of the Amba novel by Laksmi Pamuntjak; 2) representation of cultural values ​​in Laksmi Pamuntjak's Amba novel. The object of this research is the Amba novel by Laksmi Pamuntjak. Through the qualitative research paradigm, this research was conducted using descriptive analysis methods and objective (structural) approaches based on the object of literary work itself. Novels are analyzed using several literary theories (1) structure theory according to Robert Stanton, Greimas structural theory to analyze the flow. (2) cultural value theory according to Kluckhohn. Representation of cultural values ​​in Amba's novel refers to five basic problems in life that determine cultural values ​​in accordance with what Kluckhohn has stated that each cultural value system contains five basic human problems. The five basic problems in human life that form the basis of the framework of the cultural value system are 1) the problem of the nature of human life; 2) the problem of the nature of human work; 3) the problem of the nature of human position in space and time; 4) the problem of the nature of human relations with the surrounding environment; and 5) the problem of the nature of human relations with each other.

Abstract

Language acquisition of human being was started when children learned to talk. Children who are able to speak as well as adults can be called children on linguistic period namely language acquisition period from 1 to 5 years old. Specifically, this study aims to describe language acquisition of children on linguistic period. The subject of this study was children aged 3 years old and 5 years old. Research methodology applied qualitative descriptive research by Miles and Huberman. The researchers did some activities in this study such as: (1) collected the data of language acquisition from children in linguistic period; (2) obtained the data through observation, interview and documentation; (3) analyzed the data based on the theory of children’s language acquisition period and factors which affect language acquisition. Based on the data, it can concluded that children aged 3 years old and 5 years old had language development period namely two-word speech stage, word inflection, question and refuse sentences, rare and complex stages of construction. Meanwhile, factors which affect children language acquisition aged 3 years and 5 years old were heredity include intelligence and personality factors, social background factors include family relationships, social status and surrounding environment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the character education in Indonesian language courses at the University of Serang Raya, the research method used in this study is a quantitative research method with a descriptive quantitative approach, descriptive research is research conducted to determine the value of independent variables, either one variable or more (a stand-alone variable), without making comparisons or connecting one variable to another. The results of our research have obtained a pretty good data from the students and female students can be concluded that the average student and unsure student are very understanding of character education from character values, character educated ways, the importance of character education instilled early on, have a good understanding of good character education in daily life and lecturers are good motors in motivating students well.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the teaching and learning process by applying a multisensory model to students' speaking skills in delivering persuasive speeches. The research method used was classroom action research (CAR) with two cycles in which each cycle consisted of two actions. Data obtained from this study include observations, performance tests, and interviews. The results showed that the teaching and learning process of speaking skills in greeting persuasive speeches by applying multisensory models can increase student activity and involvement in each cycle. The average activity of students in the first cycle reached 72.00% and increased in the second cycle reached 86.00%. Speaking skills in this matter of delivering persuasive speeches have been shown to be evident in the first cycle of student performance reaching 71.70% and in silus II reaching 80.00%. In addition, the results of the interviews showed that students were interested in applying the multisensory model because it could make it easier for students to deliver persuasive speeches.

Abstract

This research aims to answer the formulation of question raised about whether there is an effect of Hypnoteaching learning model on short story writing ability of Class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Cihara, 2018/2019 academic year. The method used in this research is experimental method conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Cihara, by taking students of class XI as population. The random results for the two existing classes obtained Class XI A as experimental class and class XIB as control class. Each class has 30 students, thus the number of samples in this research are 60 students. Class XIA gets treatment using Hypnoteaching learning model. Meanwhile, class XIB as control class using direct learning model (expository). Based on data analysis obtained that student’s short story writing ability of class XI SMA Negeri 1 Cihara, 2018/2019 academic year which uses Hypnoteaching learning model has good category with average value of 79,1. While, short story writing ability of students which uses direct learning model (expository) at class XIB has enough category with average value of 70,26. It means, there is a positive effect of Hypnoteaching learning model on short story writing ability of students at Class XI SMA Negeri 1 Cihara, 2018/2019 academic year. It can be seen from the result of hypothesis test using t-test with a significant level 0,05’ gained tcount 4,758 and ttable 1,6723; obtained tcount 4,758 ttable 1,6723, so is rejected and is accepted. In short, states that there is no effect of Hypnoteaching learning model on short story writing ability and states that there is an effect of Hypnoteaching learning model on short story writing ability, then is rejected and is accepted.

Abstract

Excessive production of waste that can destabilize ecosystems and environmental degradation. The impact on the ecosystem is a threat to public health so that the necessary environmental education outreach to the community. One strategy that can be done to maintain the quality of the environment is to provide environmental education from an early age to children who are still in elementary school. The role of the school community in school activities towards healthy environment in order to avoid negative environmental impacts. In addition, children can be an important influence on the behavior of parents and the people around them where environmental awareness and proper understanding must be rooted in the educational system at all levels of school education. The purpose of this research is to improve elementary students caring attitude towards the environment, especially the attitude of care for the litter.This research apply in Quasy Experimental method with Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The results of this experimental study shows that the extension using call rational appeal (HR) of concern for the environment tends to be low (65%) while using the extension calls emotional appeal (HE) on the environment tends to be high (58%) to change the attitude of elementary school students. The conclusion of this study is the extension of environmental education at elementary students have a significant impact attitude change when using the emotional appeal.

Abstract

This research examines the religious character education of Soekarno in the novel "Kuantar ke Gerbang" by Ramadhan K.H. The purpose of this study is to explain the values ​​of character education that can be taken from the figure of Soekarno through any stories or events contained in the novel. This research method uses descriptive analysis by trying to describe and translate objects as they are. The results of this study are the values ​​of character education from Sukarno's figures in the form of religious values, honesty, tolerance, national spirit, love for the motherland, fond of reading, hard work, independent, democratic, respect for achievement, communicative, love for peace, curiosity environmental care, social care and responsibility. The results of this study are expected to broaden the treasury of science, especially in the field of education in Indonesian Language and Literature in schools in particular and the general public.
